I found out about Butter Lab from Stella Coffee in Carthay Circle. I've even come to Stella to only get a cookie. I've only tried the Ube mainly because it's so good that I don't dare to try anything new. The texture is very unique and amazing. It's almost like a brownie cookie but fluffier and more airy. Even knowing it was our first (and definitely not the last time) working with her, I felt very confident that I was going to be happy with the results, Plus she delivered too! I chose to go with non traditional flavors and icing to jazz things up a bit. I did carrot cake with Dulce de leche icing for my first tier, than banana with chocolate frosting for my bottom tier, I love that there was a variety of different flavor combinations to choose from. To be totally forthcoming the cake was a bit dry and the flavors didn't hit for me personally. However, the rounding out came with her cookies, we did the Traditional Chocolate Chip, and Schnicker Doodle and than a dozen Ube, out of sheer curiosity. I am starting to see this trendy flavor pop up everywhere, it's delicious. To the cookies we all tipped our hats! Didn't even have a chance to get a proper photo. They were so moist and delicious they were gone before I blinked! I highly recommend the cookies as an addition to or even make them your main event!
