I placed an order online on Friday night to be picked up Saturday morning. They had it ready! It even came with metal forks and knife and paper plates. The bag they used was insulated with a small cold pack. The cake was beautiful. I got so many compliments. The cake itself tasted good, not too sweet. The grape was a nice flavor. The cake was the low sugar jasmine grape with original cake base. They tell you not to eat the flowers. My main gripe is the price. For 8 inch cake, it was $208. Parking is on the street or in the lot behind the building.
The cakes are exquisitely beautiful and creative in terms of presentation. 10 out of 5! The flavors could be a bit hit or miss depending on your personal preferences. I tried the passion fruit cake, and I thought the flavor was fine: light, fruity and not very sweet. The texture was mushy and not cake like. So this was a big miss for me. I wanted more cake. Beautiful but not the most tasty.
I ordered the green grape cake in the smallest size on their website and went to pick up in Alhambra. The parking was limited so I parked on the street. They packed the cake very well and intentional for transport and also included utensils. The cake itself was not too sweet and beautifully decorated.
5 stars on packaging: Comes with cutlery, cake cutter, birthday decorations, and candles. Freesia provided a big cooling bag with ice packs for even a 4" cake. Warning though, forks are raw edged metal so they feel harsh to the touch. Service 5 star: Nice and easy pickup. Very easy to order online with very fast availability compared to some cake ordering places that require more time. Convenient. Taste of black sesame cake 0 stars: I didn't get a clear description from my family who ate about every flavor profile but I asked if the cake was comparable to a 99 ranch cake my aunt got one year that tasted horrible. My sister didn't even want to answer which cake was worse. So I feel justified to score the cake as 0 in flavor If I didn't want to eat that 99 ranch cake and my sister said this cake was just as bad... Look of the cake: from pervious seasons, the black sesame cake looked really cute! With the spring season, the design changed. I understand the concept but... it's really not that pretty anymore. The green icing looks cheap and the flower on top looks like a weed. Compared to the fruits, nuts, and macaroon decoration from previous season, the design is worse. I bought a cake from Freesia knowing that reviews on Yelp for the taste of the cakes were a hit or miss but my brother-in-law likes black sesame and most of the reviews that mentioned the cake tasting good was of this flavor. I was treating this purchase as an experiment since I was also interested in the mango sago for my husband's upcoming birthday and he likes mango sago. Well, it was a miss. I appreciate the service, convenience, and packaging but an inedible cake is a pass.
I ordered their Pina Colada cake and it came out better than expected! The cake itself was beautiful and looked exactly like the pictures on their website. We chose nuts, dried fruit, and chocolate beans as the filling. I was a bit hesitant about this filling but it worked so well with the chiffon cake! It was the perfect amount of sweetness and fluff for a cake. Not too heavy either. I also liked how the cakes have different sizes. We ordered the 4 in. (1-2 people). If you're looking for cakes with delicious unique flavors and gorgeous designs, then this is the place for you! You will not regret it!!!!
Not 5 stars because of the price. It's pretty pricey, but the cakes are special. I think this bakery is from China. Expensive but is worth the splurge for someone special. My family's had the black sesame cake a few times, and we still love it. Another downside is I wish the cookware they give isn't metal, it feels like such a waste since most people just toss it after use. But all in all definitely treat worthy if you're celebrating something.

Absolute waste of money and embarrassingly bad. My boyfriend spent $200 for a beautiful yet horribly tasting cake for my birthday party. The bread was so dense and the frosting was super bland. NOBODY finished their cake, it was that bad!! Even at the end, we just left the cake and didn't bother taking it home, and nobody else wanted it either. You're paying for the decoration of the cake here NOT the taste.. So disappointed!!!
My partner ordered a cake here for my birthday! The shop is unassuming from the outside, we almost missed it but inside has some pastries and buns on display for purchase of cakes that have been pre-ordered. It is very well packaged to travel, even coming with an ice pack on the side. Candles, compostable mini plates, and a sturdy set of utensils and cake cutting knife are included. We got the sesame cake and it decorated beautifully with the first cut showing perfect layers. They really take the 'not too sweet' seriously as the sweetness level was like 0%. With that though, it felt like the cake was kind of onenote. The cream filling, not sweet, then tasted kind of flavorless and the sesame frosting on the outside was the same. I wish there was more chunks or fruits or even some natural sugar components to bring in. I really liked the mini dark chocolate bits in there but were not consistent throughout the whole cake. The nuts on top gave it a nice crunch, but I personally did not like the raisins within. The cake is beautiful, but I would order a different flavor next time. The price point is high so would consider again for really special occasions.
The cutest cake for my birthday!!!! I love mango & it wasn't too sweet which I really liked. It even had popping mango boba inside! It comes with a cooler bag, candles, & cake server!! It was so good! Would definitely get a cake from here again!!

This is the most Worst/Pricey($208) Birthday cake ever.... First, it's nice to come with frozen bag, metal utensils, paper plates and packaging. You always expected a nice looking, wow to friends/family when you spend such a expensive cake. However, it turn out to be a messy/ugly looking topping. You can tell the oxidized lychee from can or frozen (not fresh for sure) From pickup to open within 4 hrs. it tasted OK as all general Asian bakery. IMO it is Way tooo over-priced for what you get. I was misleading by the high review.
The cake look really pretty but the taste wasn't it. My kids that love cakes didn't enjoy it at all. The cream was very heavy and the sponge cake was tasteless. Maybe other flavor might be better. But this cake wasn't worth the price at all.
Got this cake for my birthday and it might be the best cake design I've ever seen. The detail and presentation were on another level. Flavors were unique too. I got peach guava and it was refreshing and light, not overly sweet like a lot of birthday cakes tend to be. I also loved the utensils that came with it and the whole unboxing experience. It felt like a lot of thought went into the packaging, not just the cake itself. Only issue is the price is kind of pricey, but it also makes sense given the quality. Not sure if its just me, but the sizing seemed like it could feed more than the selected count, especially if youre a small eater. You can tell this cake is well made and meant for special, unique moments. Would order again for another celebration. read more
Writing another review because I love this place so much! This year, for my mom's birthday, we decided to try something from their low-sugar series (love how this is an option!). We got the Berry Summer cake for 5-6 people for $138 and it was worth every bite. The cream is so light, the jam was delicious, and the cake was beautiful. Loved the forks, cake knife, and candles that came with the cake. Pickup was super convenient and flexible and ordering was easy (ordered 2 days prior). Highly recommend! Street parking is easy and there are some tables outside. read more

NOBODY finished their cake, it was that bad!! Even at the end, we just left the cake and didn't bother taking it home, and nobody else wanted it either. The cakes here are so beautiful! They're handmade with fresh fruits and flowers and I love that they're not overly sweet. They have a fruit, flower, and maillard cake collection and you can go on their website to see the variety of cakes. I got the pineapple passion fruit cake and it was soft, creamy, and so yummy. You do need to pre-order their cakes 24 hours in advance. You can purchase on their website or call. The cake comes in a insulated freezer bag with small forks, candles, and cake cutting knife. Life sure is BATTER with cake, especially if it's from @freesiacakeus ! They specialize in some of the MOST beautiful and dreamy cakes I've ever seen, and they taste just as good as they look! Each cake is artfully decorated with fresh, seasonal fruits and florals, and delicately layered with soft, pillowy chiffon cake and their housemade special cream. Honestly, it was really hard to pick a cake from their extensive menu of fruits, floral and Asian-inspired flavors, but I absolutely loved the Meilong Summer cake that I ended up choosing, which is crafted from fresh honeydew melon and yogurt mousse, and even comes in a half sweet (or perfectly not too sweet) option. The cakes are definitely on the pricier side, but the craftsmanship and attention to detail definitely make their elegant creations worthy of a special occasion! read more
Received the melon yogurt cake for my birthday this year, and it was super tasty. It was too pretty to eat. They use fresh fruits and flowers. Unfortunately, the flowers were not edible, so we had to remove them before consumption, which I find kinda annoying since it was decorated all over the cake. Mother in law's birthday and we forgot to order a cake. Went across the street to Freesia and they only had the peach guava special cream cake available in 5 inch or 8 inch. They asked to wait for 10 minutes so they can decorate the cake and it's absolutely gorgeous. The cake is not too sweet and fun to eat. There's something different in every bite. My s/o surprised me with the most beautiful birthday cake ever!!! I got so many compliments on my birthday cake on social media and it made me feel so happy. He ordered me the lychee and raspberry cake and it was so delicious! It was not too sweet and the fruits were very fresh. I love the flower petals that they added on top. It was a friend's bday last weekend so I took this opportunity to try them out since I live close by. The cake was gorgeous and delicious. Light, airy and not too sweet (the ultimate Asian compliment). My friend was very happy and so were all the guests. Price was $208 for a 10". A little steep but they included an insulated bag, decorations and actual silverware. Highly recommend for a special occasion. read more

I set up an aesthetic picnic at Lacy park while having tea time, snacks, and tried the prettiest cake from freesia cake! This one is called the jasmine flower ball with jasmine milk jelly from their flower collection. It's even prettier and tastier in person. First time having jasmine milk jelly; love that it's not too sweet. The cream is addictive, such a nice texture! They also have a lot from their fruit + maillard collection as well. Cake is visually pleasing and its flower design was perfect (Packaging is great too, birthday crown was a plus). The combination of flavor and texture was good. I chose their small cake, slices were perfect for our 5 guests, just enough to fulfill everyone's sweet tooth craving. Highly recommend. read more
