A hero has come but didn't astonish us.
Hero Tea is a bubble tea spot from Asia that leans more on aesthetics than standouts. It's one of those places that feels sleek with neatly presented drinks. The steady stream of patrons piqued our interest at this plaza with so many options. They focus on tea culture, fresh cream milk and presentation tho flavours were meh. Service was relative quick in pumping out drinks.
We picked their popular Mountainous White Peach Tea ($7.95), along with the Watermelon Red Sea Slush ($8.99). The white peach tea was light with a subtle sweetness & a cream foam cap balanced by sour haw flakes but it didn't leave much of a lasting impression despite the fancy Hero Tea cup. The jumbo-sized watermelon drink was a refreshing fruit slush that didn't really a wow factor you might expect of a specialty drink.
There were a few comfy seats along the interior wall and at the front but this was mostly a grab & go spot similar to the other small bubble tea shops in Scarborough's busy SkyCity plaza. It's a more of pitstop if you're nearby and craving something refreshing. Menu prices are similar to other places for premium drinks.
Skip it or hit it? With so many interesting bubble tea options around, we'll have to think hard about going back till we've tied them all. read more
