The best sandwiches ever...everything from the lobster roll, to the Hoboken, and the tuna.

Ordered a tuna, turkey and an Italian sub. All 3 were delicious. Very fresh, good flavor, quality meat and tasty bread. Although it's a small place,it's big on warmth. Super friendly staff and well worth the trip and the price. read more

I stopped in with the wife after seeing the sign for "The Hoboken." The owners are very welcoming and just really nice people. The sandwich was perfectly done and pretty much sealed the deal for us. Great service, great food...what more could you ask for!? We'll definitely be going back. read more

I gave this place a "timeout" because last time I went they forgot to put fresh mozz on my sandwich. I decided to go there today because I was craving a sandwich and I ordered turkey and fresh mozz and I told the guy last time I came they forgot the cheese. He apologized and said they won't charge me for the cheese this time so I was happy about that. I get home only to discover that my sandwhich once again has no fresh mozz and ham on it. I'm pretty pissed about this because I know they heard me loud and clear say I wanted turkey and fresh mozz. I called to let them know and he said they would make me a new one but I wasn't about to drive back there. I told him the guy that makes the food isn't paying attention or doing what he wants to do. I love the sandwiches here but unfortunately I will not be returning. read more

Great customer service and the food is always fresh! There are so many choices and no matter what I pick I'm never disappointed. I was hesitant about trying the tuna because it has capers in it but it's delicious! You just can't go wrong with Hero King! read more

The staff is friendly and the subs are delicious. The Larry David and the Hoboken are out of this world!!! Best subs in the area. This is definitely our go to place. read more

Good sandwiches but I order one sandwich and it took over two hours to get to my house which is only down the street....

excellent people, excellent food, and most important is that the sandwiches are made as you wait. no frozen food or prepackaged. Large sandwiches and enough meat for 2 people to eat even on a half of a sandwich. I especially enjoy the "Pony Express" that is with roast beef, cheddar cheese and horseradish sauce. the chick at the counter makes you feel welcomed and you want to go there everyday to try their 35 different sandwiches. read more

Love this spot. They have great prices, huge portions. Lots to choose from their sandwich menu. Staple sides as usual. The Mac salad is the bomb. They cuztomize your sandwich to your liking. Closed on Sunday's unless it's football season. They deliver also and cater. read more

Great subs, quality meat and cheese. Stayed open for a surprise visit by family...very friendly treated me as if I were family..

My husband & I love their sandwiches. The freshness of the bread and cold cuts is the best. You get a lot of food for the great low prices. Their customer service is impeccable and there is no better sandwiches in the area. Keep up the good work & service Johnny. -Kara & Bob read more

Fresh cut cold cuts for subs? Check! Incredibly friendly customer service? Check! Takes credit cards when other local sub shops don't? Yes! I've been here quite a few times now, and I like it more every time. The first time I got a tuna sub-delicious. I've also gotten turkey, roast beef, and a hot pastrami sub-all great! Usually get the works for toppings (your default sub toppings) and if the sandwich doesn't really call for it or would go better with something else, they're sure to let you know so you can have the most delicious experience possible. Also the Hoboken sandwich on Wednesdays is fantastic!!!!!! Pretty much a French dip (philippes style-dunked) with mozz cheese, sometimes I'll swap for provolone. Go here and get your sub on!!!! read more

Came here for the first time today and the whole staff was so friendly and welcoming ! Ordered a larry david and some home made sodas. it was excellent !! Must go to place read more

Hero King - Nutley - had the larry david and a homemade vanilla cream soda. AMAZING - Sandwiches Near Me - Nutley, New Jersey

I moved to New Jersey last year, I'm a born and raised New Yorker. This is the best sandwich I've tasted in my life. I love their friendly service and how thick the sandwiches are. They are not cheap with the portions like other places that only add 3 slices of ham and cheese. They load the bread and it's so fresh. I'm glad I walked in to get a simple sandwich and it was amazing. I got a ham and American cheese with lettuce, tomato, lettuce, tomato, sat, pepper, oil, and vinegar. It's a simple sandwich but it was above and beyond! Keep up the good work guys. You definitely made two more new customers for life. My wife and I can't stop talking about this place. The only one thing negative that I have to say is, that you guys close too early . Please try to extend your hours. But nonetheless, I really have no complaints but the early closing. Subway who? Blimpies who? Jersey Mikes who? Nothing compares to Hero Kings! You guys definitely earned your title your highness. read more

If I can give more that 5 stars I would! I ordered a honey turkey and provolone sandwich with "the work" because I love the works, and it was amazing! My sandwich was so good I has to call them back to let them know how good it was. It was the perfect size and the perfect amount of turkey was placed on my sandwich, also their secret ingredient which I won't say added the perfect touch to my sandwich! Thank you Hero King! #LunchHero read more

Amazing sandwich shop!!!! The best sandwich you have ever had is in this place...definitely recommend it

I feel like whatever I post here will just be repeating what others have said, but it's true. Large sandwiches, fresh, and nice people inside. I don't like all the "extras" on a sub that most places use to fill the sub up. I like just the meat and cheese. So typically when I buy a sub somewhere it is very thin without the lettuce and other stuff. But not from here, they make a really good sandwich. read more

The sandwiches here are amazing, and the customer service is even better! I will be coming back to try different sandwiches

Absolutely delicious!!! Such fresh bread, and the perfect ratio of meats/cheeses/condiments... Just perfect... Was so satisfying and prices are great for the size of the sandwiches!! read more

Friendly people run this great hero shop. Love the Hoboken Sandwich. Bread is delicious and plenty of roast beef.

They have some of the best subs ever, I just wish they would pick up the phone when you call. I got so tired of calling with no answer, that I just end up ordering some where else. That's bad for business :-( read more
