I don't like all the "extras" on a sub that most places use to fill the sub up. I like just the meat and cheese. I moved to New Jersey last year, I'm a born and raised New Yorker. This is the best sandwich I've tasted in my life. I love their friendly service and how thick the sandwiches are. They are not cheap with the portions like other places that only add 3 slices of ham and cheese. They load the bread and it's so fresh. I'm glad I walked in to get a simple sandwich and it was amazing. I got a ham and American cheese with lettuce, tomato, lettuce, tomato, sat, pepper, oil, and vinegar. It's a simple sandwich but it was above and beyond! Keep up the good work guys. You definitely made two more new customers for life. My wife and I can't stop talking about this place. The only one thing negative that I have to say is, that you guys close too early . Please try to extend your hours. But nonetheless, I really have no complaints but the early closing. Subway who? Usually get the works for toppings (your default sub toppings) and if the sandwich doesn't really call for it or would go better with something else, they're sure to let you know so you can have the most delicious experience possible. Also the Hoboken sandwich on Wednesdays is fantastic!!!!!! Pretty much a French dip (philippes style-dunked) with mozz cheese, sometimes I'll swap for provolone. I have never written a yelp review but after my experience today I finally have a reason. I have recently been looking for a good sandwich shop and saw that Hero King consistently receives outstanding reviews. Upon arriving i was greeted with a friendly staff who were both competent and knowledgable about all of the items offered on their menu and made me feel as if i was family. I was informed that you can order ahead to skip wait time but none the less still received my order in a timely fashion. They then gave me a vip card which you can have stamped everytime you visit and gives you a free sandwich on your tenth visit. The staff was so friendly that they even gave me a free bag of chips on my way out! And on top of all of this when i got home and opened my sandwich i was amazed to see the quality and quantity of meat on my sandwhich. This was deffinetly the best sandwich ive had from anywhere in this area and i can not wait to go back for more. What the store lacks in size it makes up for in customer service and quality of food. I highly recommend Hero King to anyone looking for reasonably priced sandwhich and quality customer service. read more
