This is a brand new Chinese dim sum restaurant featuring dumplings. The dumpling prices are really cheap, like uptown prices, not downtown prices. They even have 6 dumplings for $2.99! They have other dim sum and snacks. They soft-opened on 2025-09-05. Unfortunately there is construction of the sidewalk for the entire block so there are fences bl9cking their view. We ordered the following: 1. Mini Pan-Fried Pork Buns 16 pcs ($8.99). 2. Steamed Soup Dumplings- Pork (XLB) 6 pcs ($3.99). 3. Pan-Fried Pork and Cabbage Dumplings 6 pcs ($3.99). 4. Qianglixiamg-Style Wontons - Pork 8 pcs ($8.99). 5. Black Pepper Beef Pie ($3.99). 6. Mild Spicy Chicken Pie ($3.99). 7. Original Chicken Wings 6 pcs ($11.99). All the dumplings were good. I like the Black Pepper Beef Pie. The Chicken Wings were crispy on the outside but a little dry on the inside. The customer service was good. There are several tables and a small counter seating (with 3 stools). There is pop radio music playing in the background. There is one self-order kiosk. There is a loyalty program where you get 1 points for every $0.10 you spend (equivalent to 10 points per dollar). This is a family business run by a mother, son, and daughter. Trivia: The daughter's husband owns Juicy Dumpling! There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is one gender-neutral washroom which is wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-194

Craving juicy dumplings? And don't want to commute to west china town? This is the new downtown alternative to Juicy Dumplings, the delicious and economical dumpling joint. This establishment offers a few tables for the guests to consume their food, but it is take out focused.

A tasty new option for dumplings in the downtown core! Previously the locations that offer similar dishes were far and few between, but with the arrival of Hero dumpling, affordable and tasty dumplings are much more accessible! The carry cup of iced tea and dumplings is a super cute idea. lots of selection and variation, not a place for veggie lovers but you don't go for dumplings to get a plate of veggies! Friendly staff and hard workers!

Hero Dumpling located along Yonge St. near College St. serves up affordable dumplings in a busy downtown area. I believe the owners of Hero Dumpling are related to Juicy Dumpling. The menu is simple sorted into steamed dumplings (only $2.99 for 6 pieces), pan-fried dumplings, fried snacks (fried shrimp, chicken wings), wontons, and pies/buns (black pepper beef, chicken, etc). The highlight of their menu is that their steamed pork soup dumplings (xiao long bao) is only $3.99 for 6 pieces! I stopped by Hero Dumpling to pick up some cheap eats on a Friday afternoon. The place wasn't busy but there were a few customers enjoying their dumplings there. There are a handful of tables you can dine in at or you can take your dumplings to go. There are 2 kiosk machines you can order from or you can order at the cashier. Placing my order with the cashier it took less than 5 min to prepare. Service was friendly and efficient. Food wise, I ordered the following items: - Steamed pork soup dumplings x2 ($3.99) - Mini pan-fried pork buns ($8.99 for 15 pieces) - Pan-fried pork buns ($6.99 for 4 pieces) Everything tasted good, what you'd expect for the price you paid. The mini pan-fried pork buns were easy to eat, the perfect snack sized bite. The pan-fried pork buns were filled with pork juice as soon as you bit into them. Can't say anything about the steamed pork-soup dumplings as well. Overall, a great new spot for cheap eats in the College Park area! Will definitely return for more in the future when I'm around the area.

Hero Dumpling is just across the street from us and next to a store we frequently visit. We saw the hype when they opened and their owner's personal relationship with Juicy Dumpling. Sadly, we were quite disappointed with the place. The service was fast, but the food was cold, good thing it wasn't raw inside. Since it's new, hoping they improve their quality control. They have some seating available, but it is quite small. Additionally, it feels like the staff is still learning the ropes, ordering on the screen was much easier than in person. Their deals are pretty good though, maybe if I am in a pinch I will try again and if it is still cold, will ask nicely for them to heat it up more. Otherwise, I can just buy some frozen dumplings and heat them up at home.

While the dumplings are pretty plain and straightforward, the value for money is great with pretty good portion sizes for the cheaper prices. No frills food, spartan place, but will fill your belly without making your wallet ache.

Of course, while bedtime scrolling we heard about this new dumpling spot... opened by the Juicy crew. Put it on the list and we got the chance to go on Saturday night. Gotta say, maybe cuz it's new but it's pretty clean and comfortable upon entering. It's got about 6-8 tables to eat in but most were taking the food to go. Everything comes in boxes and you can either order at the counter or on a kiosk. Quick and easy, no complaints. I went to the counter bc I wanted an explanation on the difference of the wonton types. Qianxiling (sp) vs regular vs HK-style... and this is where they lose a star. I asked the associate if she could explain the difference - she said she didn't know and had to ask the kitchen. Sure... but she came back and said "they're pretty much the same except for the ingredients" "ok so what's the different ingredients?" "They're pretty much the same, just different flavour". Oookie, so we skipped those and got the basics. We got 30 dumplings for less than $23. Can't complain about that! Our order was called maybe 5ish mins after ordering. They give you chopsticks, Wings hot sauce (my hub's fav) and soy sauce. I'm more of a vinegar girl but I didn't bother asking. Def good for a quick snack or smaller meal.. I can see loss of students going for a quick fix!

Newly opened soup dumpling spot near College Park! The service was extremely fast and there are a few tables for indoor seating. You order at the counter and pick up the food when called. I had the Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings ($3.99/6 pcs) and Pan Fried Pork Buns ($6.99/4 pcs). I really enjoyed the fried buns for the extra crisp. The soup dumplings were also decent and you can't beat the price, especially at this location. Great downtown lunch spot or simply to drop in for a snack if you don't want a full meal.

We were super excited to try this new dumpling place near our place. The price was so good, you can get $2.99 for 6 dumplings! Everything on their menu was very reasonably priced. The dumplings themselves weren't super specially and we were a bit disappointed that some came out not warm. We did get the mini pan fried dumplings which were hot and crispy though. There was a decent amount of seating in the restaurant and the staff were really nice. The food also came out super fast. To be honest, I wouldn't have minded if it took a bit longer and they heated up our food a bit more.

Hero Dumplings is a good budget spot, similar to Juicy Dumplings, but the dumplings here are less soupy and more on the dry or fried side. I tried the mini mala fried dumplings that come served on top of a drink cup. It looks cute and is fun for a first try, but the combo isn't worth the price since the drink tastes like a basic HK-style lemon honey tea. Next time I would just order the mini dumplings on their own because the slight mala flavour makes them the highlight of the menu. The other dumplings and the meat burger are fine but nothing special. Some people recommended the sesame wontons, but I wouldn't. They were tiny, dried out, and felt like eating a mint. The interior is simple and mostly food court or takeout style, so keep expectations casual.

Hero Dumpling is a NEW dumpling shop in downtown Toronto serving a variety of dumplings, including steamed, pan-fried, and soup dumplings, at very affordable prices! You can get a six-piece steamed dumplings for as low as $2.99 and soup dumplings (XLB) for just $3.99. This is perfect for students and employees looking for an affordable meal. Most people come here for takeout but they have some tables if you'd like to eat there. The service is fast and staff are friendly. My personal favourites are the Pork soup dumplings (xlb) and pan-fried pork buns! We loved the mini dumplings too. They have a washroom here. A parking spot for sure is hard to find since they are located in the downtown core but they are just steps away from College subway station.

Heard about this place through social media. They had an opening promotion first 100 people get their pork soup dumplings. Line few minutes after 12pm. Staff handed out numbers for line up goers to the first 100 people. Wait was about an hour. Organizated a few entered at time. Food made hot and steaming hot. Definitely could taste ginger the soup dumplings remind me of the Costco brand but bigger. Incredibly juicy inside and delicious. Came with soy sauce and hot sauce for take out. No frills kinda shop would definitely come back. Located Yonge and college. No parking by store front as it is a major intersection. Staff was nice friendly. It's a smaller shop with online ordering kiosk as well as a counter. There was some tables inside to sit. Not very big space. Currently sidewalk had some fences due to construction does not block store front. Would recommend for quick bit cheap eats.

Just tried the delicious selection of dumplings Hero dumplings has and I definitely recommend them all. Their dumplings are freshly made and have great quality. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant itself has a clean atmosphere and some tables if you'd like to dine in. I love both their fried and soup dumplings!

Over multiple visits, the standard has never wavered -- a hallmark of disciplined kitchen craft that is rarer than it should be. In a neighbourhood saturated with tourist-facing options, Moon Palace maintains an unwavering commitment to authenticity and refinement. There were so many dishes I started losing track. LOL. I also don't know all the names of the dishes as I didn't see the menu. One of the dishes was a fried lobster. They showed the lobster to us (poor lobster) before cooking it. The lobster tasted really good but I'm not used to handling lobster in its shell. LOL. There was a pumpkin soup which I couldn't eat since it had dairy in it. Another dish was a Peking duck with rice paper wraps, cucumber & green onions. This was my favourite dish. Delicious, yummy & simple to eat. Another dish was chicken (I didn't taste that one). We also had a fried rice which was so yummy. Then there was a dish with scallops, oysters, pork & seaweed surrounding it. I tried the scallops & they were delicious. There was another duck dish but this time the duck was chopped into little pieces with some Dessert was a yogurt / jelly type of thing which I can't eat due to my dairy intolerance. Service was really great. I'm not sure if that's because I was at a table full of Chinese people though. LOL. The dishes came quickly & they just kept coming! We had tiny plates to eat from so after the lobster we got clean plates. For the fried rice we had the servers separate it into bowls for everyone. Since we couldn't finish all the food we had them wrap up the leftovers & we took it back with us. Myself & another co-worker split up the leftovers between us since no one else wanted it. Ambiance: The restaurant had some nice lunar new year decorations up. It was pretty. Located inside the Atrium on the Bay this is an easy location to get to. The location was the site of a former restaurant called Spring Rolls. It still looks the same the only thing that changed were the tables & chairs. The washrooms are downstairs in the lowest level of the restaurant. It was hard for me to get down there because my knees are really stiff & painful. It would've been nice if they had a handicap washroom on the main level. The food was delicious & service was attentive. I thought the special lunar new year meal we chose was too much food for six people. I would've been happy with dim sum. Also the washrooms being in the basement was an inconvenience for me. Those who are mobility challenged will have the same issue.

Both times were for lunch, and there was a large party both times. It was also a treat for me to show for the first time my Texas-based niece and nephew one of my favourite Chinatown places in Toronto. We were seated very quickly, despite the lunch rush. Very clean tables and floors, and a well-lit area. Since there were eight of us, we got the round table with a lazy Susan. We started with the chicken and corn soup, which heated us up quickly on a chilly January day. Then the dim sun arrived in numbers, from the delectable Har Gow, the scrumptious Siu Mai, the tasty deep-fried squid tentacles, the texture of the curried cuttlefish, and the interesting mouth-feel of chicken feet. Sizzling plates of beef in black bean sauce and shrimp/scallops in a Szechuan sauce were just epic, arriving to the table in a scathing aroma that made my mouth water. We had to balance all that great protein with some savoury Gai Lan, sautéed in garlic. All in all, we arrived in cold spirits, but left with full bellies! Thanks for showing my niece and nephew one of the best establishments on Spadina!

When they provided with a table it was right next to an exterior door, with people going in and out. The was a cold draft, we even had to tell the hostess/manager, if they could provide a divider to divert the draft from hitting our table. We ordered 9 dim sum dishes, one be Roasted Pig Mixed Cold Jellyfish, which was $23.80. I had the idea that it would be a fair portion. When it came, I was shocked, it was only 6 pieces of Roasted Pig. When I spoke with the manager about the portion size, he commented "for that price it is fair". There was not apologies and walked away, nor was it written on the menu. If I had known it was only 6 pieces (size of your index and middle finger put together). I would not have ordered it. If you want to have Roasted Pig, you can get better deals else where. Also, ordered Marinated Chicken Feet for $13.98, when it came to table, it was also a disappointment, part of the chicken feet was dark in colour, not even sure if it was even edible or not. Another dim sum dish that I have order was the steamed chicken with fish maw. The chicken was okay, but there was only two small pieces of fish maw, (the size of each piece was 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch). The order 6 dim sum dishes that was order was mediocre, tasted better from other Dim Sum restaurant. When I received the bill for the meal it came out to be $119.50, they even had included the tip. They didn't even give me an option weather a tip was even worthy. I will definitely not be returning to this place. I definitely do not recommend anyone to come to this restaurant. I would consider blacklisting this restaurant. It's simply deceiving customers.

The individual New Century slow boiled soup is hardest to share but secure some empty bowls and you can divide the hefty portion. In the winter, there's a silkiness to the piping hot consommé that sooths a dry throat and has an umami essence infused with abalone, ginseng, and pork. There's plenty to choose from in the house signature combo platter including roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork, pork slices, and seaweed salad. Saving my stomach for the later dishes, I had a taste of the duck (a good start with crispy skin) and BBQ pork (satisfactory and well flavoured). With the generous portion of chicken in the combo platter, the slow cooked chicken with abalone broth seemed like overkill. I've never been a huge fan of this dish that's served cold since I prefer chicken hot. Still, I understand it's the jelly layer between the skin and meat that people enjoy. And to be fair, the chicken was tender, and New Century certainly didn't skimp on the ginger and scallion oil. For those who tend to fill-up before the "main dishes", the stars of the combo arrive mid-meal. The stir-fried Vancouver crabs with silver fish in HK style spicy sauce needs to be eaten at arrival as the crunchy coating is best straight from the fryer. And despite not looking spicy, the dish has a light heat that permeates in the background. Additionally, the crab was fresh and meaty, cooked well so it remained delicately flakey. The amount of sweet and sticky sauce used in the stir-fried lobsters with scallion in Maggie sauce was well balanced, lightly covering the crustaceans. Both lobsters were substantial; even after eating many pieces, we still had plenty of leftovers. This is a long review head to Gastro World for the rest.
