I would give them 10 stars if I could! Fernando was very HONEST and informative. You can tell right away that he is very intelligent in what he does. I came in to get my brakes changed and to see if my car needed any extra work. I am not very knowledgeable with cars so I had a billion questions for him unfortunately, and took a lot of time but he was very patient and looked up the best prices for each of my repairs. If you want truth and honesty, come to Heralds Garage. They were very professional and honest when it came to my vehicle. I've never had to deal with car repairs in the past, and always heard the horror stories. I originally took my vehicle to another shop to get an estimate on a timing belt issue. I was told the entire job would cost me $2500, majority of that being Labor. That was shocking to me considering my vehicle was worth that much. I took it to Heralds, that $2500 jumped down to $975 and many of the services recommended at the first shop didn't need to be repaired or worked on. My car was fixed in 5 days. So we left my car here because of the reviews being so good and highly rated. But I can say my experience with this shop was the worst experience ever. They told me what I want to hear to fix my car with them. The first time the car didnt last but 5 mins with me when it messed up again. So we took it back, got my car back and it lasted a couple of hours before we had to take it back and now keep in mind, when I took it back it was for the same issue. The mechanic who was working on my was beyond rude and yelling out it's the transmission and every other thing in the book. Fernando was the one we dealt with the most. And let me say this about him, he is very book smart and know terminology and everything but worse ppl skills I've ever seen! Well to make a long story short my car messed up again, and YES the same damn issue as the very first visit. And what did Fernando do wash his hands of the situation and gave me partial of my money was given back, which is totally unfair!! I should have been given a full refund since the car has the same issue! I will be sure to let everyone know about my experience with this shop and I would NEVER let anyone I know go here!! After leaving Herald's my car was running worse than when I arrived. The owner provided service, but didn't guarantee the work. We discussed another option, but he wouldn't guarantee it either. We would "test" options until the issue was resolved. I immediately left and took my car to a national auto repair service. They quickly found that two hoses had not been connected. There is NO WAY Herald's could have missed re-connecting the hoses. They thought this woman would be gullible to trust them and spend more money. DON'T TRUST THEM!! read more

Putting this review because it's long overdue! I took my car for a brake job about a month ago, and I was recommended this place by my mechanic. I took the car in, and I was treated great by Joe the manager and Paul, whom I believe is his assistant. These guys are really knowledgable about the work they do, and they finished the job in a timely manner. My brakes are great, I no longer have that horrible squeaking sound, and they called me back to see how everything was going with the car! These guys are awesome. read more

I took my truck there after it got rear ended, not much apparent damage, to me anyways. I looked him up on Yelp. Met Joe, he took the time to explain the issues of un-seen problems. I returned with the blessings of the other guys insurance and Joe took off the bed of the truck and found other issues requiring more work. He spoke to the insurance adjuster and got a supplement payment, arranged a rental car information, kept me informed with pics too.....One stop shopping and all my concerns were taken care of. Got my truck back, washed and detailed too. Wow!! Not even the dealer takes care of me (on my other vehicle) like this. He is close by and open Saturday mornings too. If you need regular maintenance or paint and body, go to Joe at Herald's Garage, just east of Paramount on the south side of the street. Joe is a really great guy and very knowledgeable too.
