Been coming here for years. They are fast, very competitive, and honest. Joe, the manager, will only work on exactly what I ask, no more and no less. They do not go an look for problems to fix; they are too busy and honest for that. Sure, they check out my care for issues, but do not fix them without my complete approval. They are fast, friendly, honest and do the work right the first time. read more

We just had a piece fall off my moms car and pulled into the first garage we saw. They were so quick to analyze the problem. They gave us several solutions and fixed it in no time! They didn't try to upsell us anything else or overcharge for a simple repair. Thanks so much! read more

I had my wheel bearing replacement here and very satisfied with their work! My car felt like brand new as if there wasn't wrong with it. Very honest when it comes to pricing definitely recommended to everyone! read more

Best service!! Checked everything and let's us know about our car. Ask for Fernando for great customer service!

I'm all for supporting local business. Do most of my shopping in Paramount as a resident. When it was time to get an oil change on my car, I entrusted my commuter vehicle to the wisdom of Yelp for a local, quality mechanic rather than go back to the dealer which has maintained it perfectly for 5 years. With so very few reviews for this establishment I took a chance. This was a true letdown. Joe is knowledgeable but not every driver should receive a lecture on what each of the vehicle perceived problems is or how he provides better service than the dealer. He uses this pitch to tack on additional work to his clients. He pitched a customer over the phone while I waited and used the same alarmist message with me 20 minutes later. I declined several recommendations that I know the dealer had performed within the past 9 months. And, although he will respect your decision on what maintenance you want, his "nice guy" act will go away very quickly. Onto the oil change. Fast and to the point. Waited less than 30 minutes. I was very pleased... Four stars, anyone? Sadly, the story does not end well. When the next oil change was due, I decided to take the car back to the dealer. I realized that I had paid more at Herald's Garage and gotten less than what the dealer provides (complimentary hand break adjustment, 12-point inspection, and battery test and maintenance; all these were at additional cost at Herald's). My technician also called me into his station to share with me that the prior oil filter installation was done IMPROPERLY! The filter was likely torqued with an air gun or overtightened with a wrench. I had to sign several waivers for the technicians to remove the seized oil filter without liability to them (that or take the car back to Herald's). Went back to Herald's to request an estimate and turnaround time over some suspension work and serpentine belt/alternator adjustment needed. I'm all about giving second chances. His attitude drove the point that he is unprofessional and in the business of taking advantage of naive car owners. read more

I came here Last Friday June 14, to have a Smog Done for my G35 Infinity car. The staff here is very friendly and knowledgeable. I had such a great experience-fast service and great customer service! They even gave me some freebies! Thank you! I highly recommend this shop! read more

Fernando and his crew were so helpful with me. They explained everything that was happening to the car, why it was happening and gave me options. They didnt just yell me what they were going to do. They gave me an estimate before doing any work. Whay stood out the most was when Fernando said to me, "I may not make a lot of money here because I refuse to tell you something is work with your car when it truly isn't". I recommend this mechanic to anyone. They are supre awesome. I will return. read more

I'm so glad I took my car to Fernando at Herald's Garage. The service was great! Fernando explained the diagnostic process fully, was honest, and provided me with timely updates by phone. He even finished the job sooner than estimated! I will definitely return for future service, and recommend them to others! read more

Fernando helped me from start to finish. Prior to going in for a smog check, I requested a quote and was provided with a quick response. I feel like some mechanics try to take advantage of women due to the lack of knowledge, but Fernando was great. Fast service, great customer service, honest, and very welcoming what else can one ask for. I definitely recommend !! read more

The owner Fernando is super cool and place seems legit. He took the time to help me with my truck. I would Defenitly do business here. Even though I'm not getting work done here at THIS time, I Defenitly would recommend this place. read more

The mechanic here is very rude, went to ask for a quote on a repair and kept telling me it's a big job i said I know, then he said what, what, do you really want it done, is your car smoking, ( smart remark ) I got in my car and said I'll be going somewhere else, while driving away they were starring at me the whole time like I did something wrong, very uncomfortable. Will be sticking with my mechanic I've been going to for years ( g and m auto repair ) would recommend him any time. read more

Quality Work! The owner of the shop was extremely polite he made us feel as if we were part of his family. He offered us to go inside the office, turn on the fan (extremely hot that day), offered us water, gave us pens, & asked if we needed anything else. He & his worker explained everything throughly on the work my mother truck was going to need. Their very professional, very hard workers, honest people & honesty is what I look for! The next day my mother & brother went back to the shop in the morning and offered them a bread with cheese. Something NO OTHER PERSON OR SHOP HAD EVER DONE!!! The quality work and customers service they have is Absolutely Amazing!! This will be my shop from now on! -Esmeralda read more

Fernando was a HUGE help! I stopped by because my left side headlight wires were burnt out and probably less than 15 minutes later I got a call my car was ready! Not only that but he didn't want to charge me because he said he did it in 5 minutes. God bless his heart he made my day! highly recommend coming here they're honest people. I'm just happy I can drive at night now without worrying about getting pulled over. read more

I love this auto mechanic shop already. They have pointed things out for me and allowed me to see the problems before anything else. Came here just for 2 motor mounts to be replaced. Turned out I had maybe like 4 leaks of oil and what ever those other liquids are. It's all over the place. Another Auto Mechanic shop had done my oil change but didnt even bother to do it correctly. They didnt change the washer. That is leaking too. What a waste of money. Fernando gave me great advices. I'm waiting for him in the next couple days to let me know the total price for a fix. I probably won't get my car back until a week because they are always busy but I'm fine with that. Most places are packed at the moment. I won't take my car to any other shop besides his! Hands down. read more

I went in today for a brake change and the gut took a look at my brakes and told me they don't need changing. He cleaned the pads the the rotor so they don't squeal for free. He was honest and helpful and I'll definitely return when I do need my brakes changed. read more

We own a fiberglass manufacturing company, and have used Joe for 10+years. His professionalism, honesty, and integrity prove his long standing existence. When dealing with a mechanic, the first initial shock is price, and completion time. With Joe you will find his fair opinion and suggestion first. Letting you decide on what you can afford as a priority. I recently referred my sister to Joe who is quite pleased as well! Keep up the good work Heralds! Cheers! Bill and Lisa read more

Fernando the owner runs a very honest mechanic business. He does it all body and engine work. I'm never going to another place and I highly recommend anyone who needs work on their car to come to this man. Best customer service and best prices! read more

Great Service! "Joe" the owner is super friendly and a genuinely nice person. He explains thoroughly the problem and possible solutions for your car's problems and gives a very reasonable and fair price for parts and labor. They replaced my rotors and brake pads and got the job done fast. I went to other places for a quote and they either talked down to me (maybe being female?) or straight tried to rip me off with all sorts of unnecessary work. I Highly recommend Herald's for an honest and fair mechanic in the Paramount area!!! Support this local business!!!! read more

I had a great talk with Joe and he gave me advice on my car when I came in for an oil change. I really appreciated that because we were able to put things into perspective on what it was I should do next. He seemed very professional but also down to earth. I saw a paint job that he did on another car that was done beautifully. My oil change was quick, by the time I got my tacos from down the street and came back it was complete. Ill definitely be back. read more

I took my car here for an oil change and the manager was kind enough to check on other stuff while I was waiting. He said that I will have to get new brake pads pretty soon. If he said I need new ones now I would've changed right there but instead, he told me to come back after Thanksgiving lol. I like how he was being honest with me and I definitely will come back for new brakes. He also mentioned that the shop is under new management. I don't know how the service was before but I give 5 stars to the new owner. read more

ad my car serviced there in the past. Poor quality of work, unnecessary repairs. Did not return.

Having your car worked on can be an intimidating experience, especially if you're a woman and don't know a whole lot about cars. Unfortunately we are often the target of greedy mechanics lol. I got on Yelp and started requesting quotes. This place had very positive reviews, responded quickly and gave me the best price, so I gave it a shot. I needed a valve replaced on my Honda as recommended by the guys who did my oil change. I came in and was warmly greeted by friendly Fernando. I signed the paperwork and took off. However, once they started working on my car they found that I had another issue which was my serpentine belt. Since I don't know much about cars and I haven't had that done since I've owned the car, I had to take Fernando's word for it. Of course, unexpected expenses suck, but a car is a necessity in So Cal so I went ahead and paid the additional cost for the repair which was priced competitively. My car was ready the same day I dropped it off. I really appreciate that he showed me the worn out belts that they took off my engine (I would like to believe that they really did come from my car and that I wasn't swindled or anything lol but again I'm cynical and have limited knowledge about cars). Additionally I was given two free mugs, which were a pleasant surprise. I felt very at ease and will definitely be coming back next time I have a problem with my car, which is hopefully no time soon. A+ customer service for me. read more

Takes care of my car with "quality and integrity," just like their slogan! The workers are super friendly, and they always do such a great job everytime I bring my car in. They take care of my car as if it's theirs. Fernando is one heck of an honest dude, not your average sales guy who scares you with "fix everything or your car is screwed." He always gives me a full explanation of what's causing problems on my car, and gives me a bunch of options so I can get my car fixed without pouring in all of my money. I will definitely keep coming back! read more
