Popped in for a mid day dram. landed upstairs at the whiskey bar. The decor is spot on for the experience they're looking to create.... I was a little underwhelmed by the selection of whiskeys considering its called a whiskey bar. Same bottles as the regular bar downstairs. The service was kinda slow but the prices were fair. There was a broken cork floating in the bottle of four roses and I had to ask the bar tender to grab a new bottle as be was about to pour my drink. He didn't complain, but seemed a little annoyed that I asked. I do appreciate that he actually went and grabbed another bottle though. I'm thinking later in the day when the sun is down and a more engaged bar tender is working the bar would have made this a 4 or 5 star experience. read more

It was raining and he chatted with us and made us feel at home - even added a squeeze of OJ to my skinny marg since that's the way I like it. This place is such an fun time. Came one Friday night and enjoyed the live music and fun environment. Plenty of security keeping it a nice place with multiple levels of entertainment on each floor. Had so much fun that I had to return for brunch on Saturday. Had the chicken salad croissant which was delicious. The mac and cheese side was like homemade and so cheesy. Service was great. Expect to park $10-$15 in parking near by though. read more

Henry's is one of my go-to spots when I'm looking to grab a drink on a rooftop downtown. On weekends, there are plenty of bachelorette parties there, which is fun. It's a great spot for a date, because the deck has multiple layers and pockets of seating, so it can feel really cozy and intimate if you're sitting in the right spot. The best time to go in right at sunset. You can watch the streets of downtown Charleston get bathed in golden hour. There's also a downstairs bar if you don't want to sit outside, but the rooftop is one of the most unique ones I've been to in downtown Charleston. Fun Fact: Allegedly, Mel Gibson would frequent Henry's while he was filming The Patriot. read more

So we went to a lot of places while we are in Charleston and Sunday before we left we decide to go to this Open Air Market. I can't say much about the stuff that was for sale at the market but lo and behold this was right across the street. What a find it was. With three levels including a rooftop bar we enjoyed the second floor and our bartenders were both super cool. I was drinking bourbon and my wife were ordered one of their famous bloody marys. Are bartender said bam there you go. He had it made for somebody else and just finished putting the toppings on it and handed it to her which was really cool and funny. Wish I could give 0 stars.... Wait in the line for 10 minutes to get up to the door and get "20!" Yelled at me. A 20$ cover for an absolutely dead bar. Would not recommend. Also did they get the band from the senior center or what cause they did one of the worst songs I've ever heard. To the wall/ sexual healing remix. This place was absolutely beautiful. We sat on the rooftop and enjoyed the sun. The spicy shrimp roll was not as thought BUT it was much better . You get a great balance of flavors with a slight kick of spice that builds as you eat. I'm interested in visiting the Whiskey Room on second floor. Nice ambiance, but jambalaya portion was the smallest I've ever seen. The rice barely covered the plate and I finished it within 2 minutes tops. Waitress brought out incorrect sides, food was mainly lacking in heat and flavor. Wouldn't recommend. Go to Hyman's instead. read more

We were an older group of woman (five of us 60 year olds), we are kind and decent people, while standing near the bar a young bar-back yelled at us and told us not to block his aisle way to the kitchen. When I looked at him in shock and with a look very telling on my face that one person could talk to another person in that manner, he says I'll get security. I did complain to the host but we all just left. Definitely need customer service training at the establishment. read more

The rooftop was awesome. Just stay away from the second floor bar area, especially if there is live music. The young lady responsible for the vip section needs a lesson in manners and southern hospitality. On 11/3/2023 at 8:00 she was rude and condescending to a group of 16 customers with money to spend. We left and will not come back. I was embarrassed for her and am assuming she is not a local, based on her attitude. Who ever you are, there are better ways to handle the situation. We had a large group last night. We just grabbed drinks and sat down at a few bar top tables. Within 10 minutes, the young female server/waitress walked up to us and told us that we needed to leave the area we were in, or pay $500 VIP service. The area we were in wasn't crowded. I understand that they are trying to maximize profit for the VIP section, but the waitress was very rude. We weren't intending on staying in the VIP area once we heard we needed to leave. I hate to say it like this, but she was a little brat. I feel that management should at least know that she talks to customers like this. I'm not sure if she has been working there for awhile or not, or has been in the business for awhile being that she is so young, but I hope she either realizes that she's not cut out for this job, or she learns to treat people more respectfully. read more

Wonderful place full of eccentricity and unique features... Love all the vintage touches and it never seems to end... Three floors of so much interesting Decour and three different bands to pick from with different vibes and music to go with it. A little something for everyone... One thing to keep in mind, it kinda feels like a frat house... Pretty young crowd but may attribute that to it being the only thing open relatively late since covid ... Still a whole bunch of fun! Really enjoyed it! Waited in line outside but it moved relatively quick! Rooftop is definitely a highlight ... there is a set of stairs inside the second floor that is separate from what goes out onto the larger deck that leads to a smaller more private deck with its own little DJ system and comfy seating ... Do not recommend this establishment. We had a group of 7 looking to get lunch and we were greeted by a rude, unprofessional younger host. When we asked if any tables were available for 7, the host rolled her eyes and told us she would have to ask her servers. We offered to split up if that would make things easier and she once again gave us an attitude and walked away. We could clearly see open tables that were open and available to be pushed together. After watching the host rudely point at us while talking to the server, we decided to find somewhere else that would accommodate us. The host and waiter came back to the host stand and we told them we changed our minds. The host rudely stated that they already pushed tables together and we apologized and began walking out. The host then turned to the waiter and goes "I told you they were rude as f**k." As someone who comes from the service industry, this girl should not be a host tasked with greeting customers. She was rude, unaccommodating, and severely unprofessional. Do not recommend this place. There are plenty of other options in Charleston without rude employees!! read more

There was somewhere between 3-4 floors and easily twice as many bars. The food smelled good; however, I didn't order any food. The whiskey selection was impressive. I want to emphasize again how huge this place was, yet how intimate it felt. Every area was warm and cozy. Exactly what you would want from a whiskey bar. There was an area for every niche. Whether you like to sit on a couch, on the rooftop, or in the main bar area, there was something for everyone. Would definitely recommend to someone who enjoys whiskey and is looking for a place to indulge. Only caveat is that they charged a $20 cover charge and it appeared they were setting up for multiple live musicians on their multiple stages. Unfortunately we got there at a bad time (after the free period and before the live music). Not really interested in paying money to come pay money for drinks and/or food. We came to this restaurant because it looked really cute from the street. We went to the rooftop area first and were met with communal water...during COVID. Also, said communal was empty! We sat down at the outdoor seating and ordered over priced menu items. The set up was discombobulated and umbrellas were falling over. The service was slow and not very personable. Enjoyed the deck on a pit stop walking Charleston. Sadly a barman (not ours) was a MAGAt, but oh well we are in MAGAville (sadly).
