What a great spot, my biggest issue was trying to figure out what to order. I looked around the café & everything looked good from breakfast to dinner plates on other customers tables. I was torn until my wife said we can come back for breakfast before we leave the area- LOL. We were seated quickly, our Waitress was super friendly & helpful (and very patient). I went with the Taco Salad, wife did her go to (a classic burger). My Taco Salad was the BEST that I have had in a long time - very happy with my choice. The beer was perfect, and all the ingredients complemented the flavor (see pic) Wife loved her burger, I had a bite, it was delicious. Crinkle Fries were hot & crispy. Good friendly family environment with a casual hometown feel.

A local favorite year after year! We ordered off the "Light" menu and still couldn't finish it all! Great diner food, served hot and fresh. My go to deciding factor is eggs cooked perfectly, no brown bits, and hash browns and bacon extra crispy !!! All served up by pleasant servers! Happy Tummy!

We have been wanting to try Henry's since we moved up here. All the locals have been telling us to come check it out. We came here after the lunch rush on Saturday. The place was nice a clean. I love the art on the walls. The two waitresses working there were very friendly and got us seated quickly. We got our drinks quickly as well. My boys ordered fish and chips and a cheese burger with bacon. They both loved what they got. My husband got the turkey cranberry melt as a wrap and he said it was delicious. I got the Henry's dip and it was very tasty. The only suggestion I would say is to salt the fries but maybe they don't because of the older crowd that comes in. I don't know. They had salt available on the table so I just added salt. I also asked for a side of their BBQ sauce because they make it from scratch and it's absolutely delicious!! I took it home to make some bbq chicken sandwiches

Omg....get the Plow Boy. Its huge. You can probably split it. Its a pastrami brisket sandwich. The jalapeños give it a nice little kick. It comes with a side and a pickle. Henry's Cafe was a cute little dinner. I would definitely come back if I were in the area. The breakfast looked good too.

On my way to Vegas, I needed a caffeine kick to stay alert behind the wheel. I exited off Highway 58 and discovered Henry's Cafe. From the outside, the place looks very unassuming, but once inside, you'll find a spacious dining area that is well-organized and comfortable. I was greeted by the hostess and requested a coffee to go. While she was preparing my coffee, I looked around and noticed that the food being served looked really delicious. Had I not arrived with a full stomach, I would have sat down to order a meal. The coffee was excellent, and I happily got back on the road. However, I made a mental note to stop here next time and try a meal.

I've lived up here most of my life, and I've never gone to Henry's so today we decided to check it out. We've always heard that it was good. This place sure gets busy. There were a lot of out-of-towners. The wait was about 20 minutes. All of the staff were nice and friendly. We didn't have to wait long for a waitress and drinks once we were seated. Our food came out relatively decent amount of time considering how busy they were. I had the chorizo and eggs with homestyle fries and biscuit and gravy. The chorizo and eggs was excellent. It was probably the best chorizo and eggs I've had at a restaurant, they make them just like how I make them at home. The homestyle fries were perfect. The biscuit and gravy was pretty decent. The biscuit is more on the dense bread side and the sausage gravy was good. My wife had the chicken fried steak and I had a bite. It was pretty good. She said everything else was great, the eggs, the hashbrowns and the pancake. Our waitress even offered us to go cups for our sodas, that scored extra points with me. All in all we had a great breakfast here and I think we will come back here sometime in the future, maybe for dinner next time.

Love this lil coffee shop in Tehachapi! Great food and staff! Tried their signature chile better omelette. So bomb! First time I noticed it on the menu and love it. The corned beef hash, chicken fried steak are great go to's. They've never let us down. Always extra to take home. Plenty of parking in lot. Depending on the time you go, there may be a bit of a wait. But well worth it!

Wonderful place for breakfast/lunch. The staff is super friendly and the food is super good!! Easy place if you are 2 or 4 people, not so easy for a bigger group. Went to Henry's Cafe for breakfast. This place is pretty crowded on weekends, this is a good sign. We were seated and promptly greeted by our server. 2 minutes later the coffees were on the table and we were ordering. I had the bacon and eggs with hash browns and toast (my standard go-to). I asked for the bacon and toast to be crisp. When I got my food a few minutes later... everything was exactly how I ordered it, crispy bacon and crispy toast. And the food tasted great!!! Overall a great meal and wonderful experience eating at Henry's Cafe. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town. read more

The City of Tehachapi is known for its small town charm, ability to see all types of weather, and the hospitality of its residents. Situated right off of Tucker Rd in the main area of town is Henry's Cafe. If you're looking for good tasting food for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or an early dinner, search no further! The food at Henry's is served fresh, full of flavor, and with a home made feel to it. My personal favorites are the country fried steak and eggs with hash browns and toast, or the Reuben sandwich. I've had other items on the menu, and have yet to find something I didn't like. On top of the food being delicious, another key ingredient to Henry's success is the hospitality of its employees. From the moment you walk in the door, you're greeted with smiles and kindness, just like showing up at grandmas house when you were young. The wait staff is super responsive to all customers needs, and go out of their way to take care of you. I recommend Henry's to anyone looking for a good place to eat while in Tehachapi. Expect a short wait during peak operating hours between 9am-1pm Saturday and Sunday. They close around 2-3pm, and are not open for evening dinner. Morning / early afternoon hours only. Give them a try! You'll be glad you did. read more

My parents and I were visiting Tehachapi for the day and found Henry's Cafe on Yelp. They nearly had a five star rating and I understand why. The greeters and waitresses were all very friendly! I had the chicken fried steak and eggs which was so tender I didn't even need to use a knife! My mom had steak and eggs and Pops had the French dip. All our food was hot, fresh & very tasty! We were driving home and stopped. A little wait but very well worth it. Our waitress was amazing and sweet. We had breakfast and it was so delicious. My son is very picky eater and normally only eats 1 pancake. He had 2 and a half. Wonderful service, food and very welcoming. We will most definitely return next time we're this way. 2/12/19 driving through the area so we decided to forego breakfast At the hotel & Visit henrys again. Kristie just happened to be our server every time we have visited! Jack had Chile Verde omelette & I had Southern breakfast! 11/8/17 we are in our way back to Palm Springs. We decided to forgo our free breakfast at the hotel to frequent Henry's again. Hubby stayed with the southern breakfast. I opted for French toast this time. Definitely worth the stop. It was packed which is always a good sign! A condescending restaurant that has great cooks and servers but when we walked in they looked like they didn't know what to do with us. We must have arrived on don't serve interracial couples day. Clearly our racist server went out of her way to mistreat us first by pushing through my wife and kids to seat those who had come in minutes behind us, then by ignoring us let us while she served everyone else. She wouldn't pour us coffee or serve us until it was painfully obvious that she was taxing the other workers who were resolved to actually help us. Bless them for having to work with such a sour lady. Go there for fun overall great and clean just be on guard if you're anything but vanilla. read more
