We have been to the Parsons Project multiple times we have celebrated birthday New Year s and a great spot to meet friends. They have a parking lot and tends to be quite. . The staff is friendly, heads up odd hours and the menu is always changing. Last night we had multiple dishes including Shrimp and grits A steak which was perfect fried chicken and multiple sides They did cook the steak to perfection The corn had some spice and the biscuits are always great we found the fried chicken very salty not just the crust, but even the chicken itself perhaps a little lighter hand would've been better. This is a great place to share food so when you go bring friends and share.

espresso martini + ruby

I'm usually not the biggest fan of gumbo, but their duck gumbo was my favorite! I liked the ruby cocktail more than the espresso martini. If it wasn't so loud, dark, and warm in the restaurant, it would've made the experience better.

I hope this pop-up becomes permanent! I came here on a Saturday evening with a group of eight. The restaurant is right next to Guisado's and has its own parking lot. The restaurant/building is large with ample seating in and outdoor. We were seated by the bar area in the back. The hostess and servers were all very nice and came back frequently to check on us. We were informed that the menu recently changed and there were more Cajun dishes on the menu so I was really excited. I got the Ruby to drink and gumbo as my entree and shared the biscuit. I originally planned on getting my own biscuit but was then told that they were quite big so the table ended up sharing. My partner got the squash ribbons. The Ruby almost tasted like just juice so it's easy to drink. Very fruity and summery. The biscuit, we were too excited to eat it and didn't get a picture but it was hot, large, soft, and very comforting. The gumbo was great! It's a very filling dish and was seasoned perfectly. My partner's squash ribbons were very well seasoned with bright, citrusy flavors. It would be perfect on a hot day. The table also got hoe cake, Mac n cheese, corn, and collard greens. Hoe cakes were new to me and they were delicious. It's like a pancake but tasted more corn-y to me. It had a blueberries and pico on top. Greens were very well seasoned and tasty. The Mac n cheese was good but not amazing. All in all, a very filling and satisfying dinner. Would definitely go back for more!

Location 5 stars: In Pasadena, on the West side of S. arroyo Parkway, just North of E. California Blvd. They have their own free parking lot! Almost unheard of in busy Pasadena. Very convenient. Venue 4 stars: Rustic indoor and outdoor seating with Southwestern motif. They are only open on certain Friday and Saturday evenings, so be sure to call in to make sure they are open before you go. Service 3.5 stars: Friendly and polite. Our specific server was super nice, but not very efficient or attentive. Food 4 stars: Sophisticated comfort food with a Southern flare, using fresh local ingredients. Small menu of 6 main plates and about 10 appetizers and sides. Concepts and plating are unique and creative. We had the Jambalaya Arancini (good), the Brussels Sprouts (great), the Brie Eggrolls (good) as appetizers. We also had the Beef Bourgogne (great), the Chicken Katsu Benedict (great), the grits (good), the Blackened Catfish (good), and the Baby Back Ribs (just OK) as our main plates. Drinks 3 stars: Beer and wine and a few Low ABV (Low Alcohol By Volume Content) cocktails (made with wine and prosecco, no hard liquor), soft drinks and tea/coffee. They do recommend wine pairing for each of their main plates. The Bottom Line 4 stars: Pleasant and unique experience, given the reservations that I have noted above. High potential concept that could benefit from further development and scaling. Recommended!

I don't remember what the cake was, but it was an amazing cinnamon ice cream!

The owners of this restaurant in Pasadena lost their home in the Altadena fires, so locals have been trying to support this restaurant. I'd been wanting to go so went with another couple and we had a great night. Everything was delicious!! All the starters sounded so amazing that we decided to get a bunch of those, and no main courses although I definitely need to go back to try the shrimp and grits. The fried oysters were exceptional and don't miss the biscuit! Only miss was the sangria, which tasted too much like cloves. Might have been better served hot! Our server was so friendly, and the owner came to say hello & chat with each table. Discovered that he does a LOT of catering business, so I will definitely keep them in mind for future events. We sat on the patio with heat lamps, which was lovely. Inside is nice too but a little louder.

The Angel biscuit is delicious. A must try. I was disappointed with the menu. They happened to change their menu the night before our reservation. I was looking forward to try a few dishes on the old menu.

Mac n cheese, collard greens and corn

Every single thing we ordered was amazing! Got the blackberry cobbler for dessert. I can't wait to have that again.

Duck and andouille gumbo

We all enjoy comfort food! This is what henry parsons project is about. Local sourcing, fresh produce, creative menu. My favorite is gumbo, chicken katsu Benedict, and steak frites. Meat Flavorful, juicy and tender. Also i made sure i left room for dessert! Make sure you make reservations before hand. This restaurant only opens on certain week/days. I hear that it only opens when they are not out doing catering. So make sure you plan ahead and make reservation. Service is attentive and friendly. Attached parking lot.

Bibb Lettuce Salad. Very good.

I was intrigued by the concept of a florist & wine bar combo, so I stopped in to check it out. The place is quaint. There's a section with unique bottles of wine for sale in addition to potted plants. An area where Gabriel works his magic creating artistic floral arrangements, and a cozy little wine bar where you can sit and enjoy a glass or two. There was a group of friends chatting it up at the wine bar, and they were kind enough to offer me a seat. Raymond, the wine expert and owner along with Gabriel, poured me a lovely glass of Spumante Brut Rosé. It was perfectly chilled and a delight on the palate. I had a wonderful conversation with Raymond & Gabriel. They are both darling and welcoming. I look forward to returning with friends or to attend a tasting. I'm also happy to have a new spot for ordering beautiful floral bouquets. *HH Mon - Thurs 4 - 6 pm $10 Select wines by the glass. *Private parking lot.

I was looking for a spot to celebrate on my birthday week. I am a fan of the speakeasy in Pasadena…read moreas well & this spot is known for this vibe. There is the school house parking lot in the back that is $1 for the first hour or you can park on the street. Once I arrived the host was outside a venue which looks like a store. Once my party arrived they allowed us to walk down a hallway. We entered an elevator which opened to a dark hallway. The hallway was aesthetic with a knight standing in the corner. A wooden door opens & inside is the wine cellar. You're walked to your table. I ordered the Mozart charcuterie board & a cab sav red wine to share. The ambiance is nice & pleasing. It can become a bit loud when more people arrive. There is a self playing piano as well. The server was kind & open to our questions concerning wine selections. Since it was my birthday I was served icecream, crème brûlée, & dessert wine. Our bill was placed in a smut book lol. Overall an aesthetic spot for a date , birthday, or girls night.

Absolutely horrendous customer service…read more Once we finished eating, we waited over 40 minutes for someone to even walk by our table so we could order dessert and get our check. I have no idea what happened to our server, but we were completely forgotten about. On top of that, the food took an extremely long time to come out, and when it finally arrived, it was very bland and underwhelming. The table next to us had ordered a brand-new charcuterie board and waited so long just to order their wine that they eventually left the restaurant without even touching the charcuterie board. Overall, both the food and the service were extremely disappointing. Waiting that long just to get someone's attention, receive our food, and eventually pay the bill is unacceptable. Definitely not an experience we'll be repeating.

The decor is also very nice, it's like a transformation walking into a tasting area in a winery. I get why this place is the way it is, it is a different persona from the other owned establishment, but wine can be intimidating. You have the reds, whites, the sweets, the sparkling and etc. Not only the difference in profile, but you can pair it with food to enhance the overall flavor. There's potential to display educational decor or have sessions to educate. They do provide a wine club, but small steps can establish commitments with a new customer base. The pizza is delicious. The sauce is great, the crust is solid, and the toppings are of quality. If you want something light and fresh, the Margherita. The most underrated pizza since we are all accustomed to a lot of toppings on pizzas. This is a must try. This place out of the other owned spots has burrata cheese. I think adding mozzarella with burrata would improve this pie, but nonetheless still good. The truffle pig pizza was also good. If you're looking for meaty and something not too light, this would be a good option. I definitely will be back. Thanks for everything!
