They quoted me $200-$300 more to replace the mother board and said I needed to pay for a data transfer (another $135.00 plus cost of the motherboard) OR I could just buy a new computer, pay for a service plan ($200) and they would transfer my data which would have come close to $1k. Frankenstein told me I didn't need a data transfer with a motherboard replacement and charged for labor and parts which was pretty straightforward. I estimate I saved $200 on the motherboard replacement or $600 if I had to buy the new computer. Repair took about a week (through a holiday), but was reasonable given they had to order a part.
