We almost missed taking a photo with Hello Kitty but one of the owners was kind enough to let us know to come back at the right time before Hello Kitty left for the day. Afterwards, the two managers/owners instructed one of the workers to bring us to our table shortly. The bow room itself was kind of small, about 9-10 tables. Waitress was nice & explained the menu but didn't come back to take the order. At some points there were no waitresses present so we would have to wait for service. At least the end of the visit, one of the waitresses asked if everything was ok. The food itself was good and filling. Apparently the egg salad is house-made. The scone was a bit dry though. We were able to take the items we couldn't finish, to-go. Like many of the reviews here, the Hello Kitty Cafe is cute for the aesthetic and underwhelming for the food. I guess you're really paying for the HK themed food and cutlery. When we arrived, there was a sign that said to wait for someone to check you into the reservation. We waited maybe 15 minutes since they were serving guest in the to go cafe area and when it passed some time for our reservation, we went into the line to let them know. We weren't sure if we could enter through on our own since the signs said to wait. It's really cute inside and everything is HK themed, even down to the sugar cube. They had pretty standard tea options, nothing spectacular. Their sweet and savory options were decent. It was interesting because the staff told us which ones weren't a fan favorite and which ones were, but the one we liked the most was the non fan favorite. The scones were hard and cold so they were difficult to enjoy. The serving size is also much smaller than typical afternoon tea places. I recommend it if you want to go because of the aesthetic, and not afternoon tea experience. read more

What a cute little shop inside Valley Fair Mall! There are lots of cute decorations that draw in visitors, independent of whether or not they're actually ordering. Even the food has cute, designs, and patterns, fitting with the hello Kitty theme. The service was also pretty fast, considering the crowd that was present. They also have a "Bow Room" that you can access with a prior reservation, for high tea in the afternoon or some light snacks in the evenings (see pictures for details). While we didn't have any reservations this time, we may go back in the future for this experience! If you don't have reservations for the Bow Room, there aren't really places to sit within the store, so you'll want to get takeout. However, there are many places to sit with within the mall. Came over 2 days ago and I must say this place is super cute. I've been wanting to come over and have brunch with my ladies down south. But making reservations is very hard down there. This cafe is SO FRIGGEN ADORABLE!! I am a big hello kitty fan so when I heard this new cafe opened up in the Bay Area I couldn't wait to try it!! It's been a hot minute since I found out about it, but today I was in the area and had to stop by to check it out. It is inside the huge mall of Vallyfair Mall up on the second floor. You will have to look for directions to it as the mall can get super lost inside. Once you find it you can't miss it! They have some cute little treats. We tried the donuts with the cinnamon topping and they were so yummy! They are on display in the front, so you have to specifically ask for them. Their drinks are on the sweeter side so I just got a less sweet coffee with the foam which they made a cute design for me. Love love the backdrops for photos too! Ended up picking up a cute little mug for my oldest daughter too, as well as a box of macarons for my kids. I wouldn't say they have the best treats but they are unique with the hello kitty touch. The people working there are super friendly and helpful too. I personally wouldn't go here just for the sweets though as they are VERY much on the sugar side. But the donuts were a good in between! This past Saturday, my granddaughter, and I finally made it out to the hello Kitty café in Santa Clara. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as busy as previous reviews have noted especially for a Saturday. However, I was so amazed by the set up of the café. I initially wanted to book an afternoon tea session for my granddaughter, however, the sessions were booked up in the previous reviews have stated they do fill up fast. That did not stop us from enjoying ourselves, regardless. I have to mention the staff is super friendly, and very welcoming. I chose to purchase a lavender lemonade, and my granddaughter selected a chocolate chocolate slice of cake, with hello Kitty's face on it of course. I thought it was a cute little touch with the white chocolate bow. This establishment definitely meets the vibes, if you wanted to take a photo session up in this place trust me booking an afternoon tea or even an evening tea session as well worth it. One of the suite workers offered to take our picture and I thought that was just super nice. Although I wish there was a location closer to home, it was well worth the almost 2 Hour Dr. on such a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon. Now I will mention this, in regards to the food items on the menu. Make sure you review the website as well as the reviews to get a better understanding of what you're ordering. Since this is a place that is more for nostalgia and the vibes and of course the selfie experience, do not think this place is where you can go ahead and get a full meal at. My besties and I are all Sanrio girlies so we have been wanting to come here, and we finally got a chance to try it for one of my friend's birthdays. Based on reviews we opted for the $30 single item and drink evening service over the $70 lunch afternoon tea and I am so glad we did... because despite the wonderful cuteness and happiness we got from seeing all the decor and themed offerings, the food and drinks themselves were mid. The pink hot chocolate just tasted like warm milk with strawberry jam mixed in, and the apple pie didn't taste good without the vanilla ice cream in the same bite. Neither item was worth the extra $5 charge let alone the regular price per person! I tried a bit of my friend's orders and drinks and can confidently say that all the desserts tasted like they were just warmed from frozen, and nothing was really fresh or good, let alone impressive. However, we genuinely enjoyed our experience just being in the bow room and taking pics of each other and with the hello kitty statue, food, and drinks. Our waiter was also incredible, he was engaged, chatting with us, took great care of us, and made my friend feel special on her birthday, so the service was fantastic and definitely helped. was so excited for the hello kitty cafe to open up in the bay area after experiencing it in irvine and vegas before! i was pleasantly surprised that i was able to make reservations for a weekend and there were lots of reservation opening. the location is next to where bloomingdale used to be. on the other side of the like to order at the cafe is where you're expected to wait if you have reservations. i personally thought the setup of the line was oddly placed given we're walking towards the oncoming path of people entering. the inside was similar to the irvine cafe but felt a little smaller and it didn't have a bar. they did mention they don't serve alcohol yet. for $24 per person, you get to choose a dessert and a drink. they had tiramisu options, fruit tart, espresso, strawberry soda, and you can also purchase items at the cafe as well inside. gratuity is included so it was about $91 for 3 people. it's cute, the desserts are delicious and not too sweet, but i would say i prefer the irvine location with their beverage options! read more

However, I think from all our selections the theme was overly sweet. We did not finish our drinks or desserts. Service was good based on the employees who were actually working. I went on a weekday a little before lunch time and still was a line. I do want to comment I was a bit disappointed to see two workers basically standing around and talking. First it was to direct how to form a line which I didn't think it takes two people (they stood chatting after). Then same workers finally made it behind the counters only to do more talking in front of the the display case - They seem to be more in the way of the workers who were busy - 1 manning the cash register, 2 on drinks and 1 on donuts. With the lines being that long not sure what their "job" was but I'd say the line didn't necessarily have to be that long if all hands were on deck.
