A Vietnamese café that serves breakfast and lunch. The service was good. Note: this is one of those places where the servers are scantily clad. I was dropping off my brother's family at the San Jose airport and wanted Vietnamese breakfast. This place came up and it looked good. I didn't really do any research into it so I came here. A lot of other places were closed so I figured what the heck. I got a Vietnamese breakfast that came with eggs, a fresh loaf of bread, some sausage, and some pate/ butter. No complaints here. I thought the food was good. The Vietnamese coffee was also solid. The obvious draw here were for men, so basically the vibe was a dude hang out with sports and news going on in the background. Came away very disappointed. The coffee was fine, but after hearing so much about the service it felt like we barely received any. After our order, despite us being some of the only people in the cafe, our waitress couldn't find the time to check in on us more than once after forty minutes. It appeared as if there were only two waitresses, and there were periods of time where neither of them were anywhere to be found. Just felt like we received the bare minimum of service. The overall atmosphere of the cafe was somewhat depressing. With the shady lightning, tables with gambling machines attached to them, a single unisex bathroom with a stall whose lock is broken, and bare walls aside from a single "Happy Halloween" poster, the place looked more like something you'd find in a back room of a racehorse track. Ultimately, just a very disappointing experience - there was truly nothing worthwhile to entice a customer to keep coming back. read more

We were on a road trip heading to Tahoe and needing to stop and get some coffee and a bite to eat. My wife found this place and thought the food looked great. As we're pulling up to it, I'm asking her if she's sure its a cafe and not a strip club... Pretty funny to open the door and see a couple beautiful women in lingerie. They were super charming and friendly to our family and loved our daughter and dog. The coffee was delicious and strong, just what was needed for getting back on the road for a couple of hours. The food was really delicious too, we got a Vietnamese sandwich and some spicy egg dish. Both were great, far better than what we have around home. It was a very pleasant experience and the coffee and food is worth it. read more

This is a nice place to just unwind and have a Vietnamese coffee or smoothie and just catch up on your work. The complimentary tea is always a bonus, got to get your antioxidants in. The servers were very attentive and check up on you regularly. They worked collaboratively, were very approachable and had a great attitude. I got an avocado smoothie and it was the perfect consistency, I had to get another one like DJ Khaled. The owners are very accommodating and showed me great hospitality. I had the wonton soup and shaking cube beef rice topped with a fried egg and it didn't disappoint. They do have Vietnamese sandwiches, which you can never go wrong with. I would recommend the owners to add some more appetizers maybe wings, garlic fries, etc. however; I can appreciate the simplicity of their menu. The newest Vietnamese cafe in the Bay Area; grand opening was just on 12OCT19. Typical sit-down cafe serving coffees and various fruit drinks. So far, food is limited to combination or sunny-side up sandwiches, and a homemade beef stew with baguette which was quite good! On Sundays, besides American football, I reckon they also have futbol, international sports, and female sporting events - a nice change. Also a nice change is a variety of upbeat background music instead of constant hip-hop and rap at other cafes. Also, this seemed to be wholly family run. I've been coming here a few times for the coffee and friendly staff. I like how outgoing and approachable the ladies are here. Really sets the atmosphere. Today I came after a workout and wanted to try their food menu so I ordered the wonton soup. The broth was subtle and flavorful. The wontons were cooked nicely and the meat had flavor not bland like most places. The noodles are firm and flat. I like that they add pork rinds in it. Also comes with a cold glass of tea. I wanted to try something different so I added some of the sauce in with it and then a flavor bomb was created. I spoke to the owner Tran and she mentioned that her mom was the chef and I told her to give her my compliments. As they say nobody cooks better than momma! Will always be back! read more

My friend wanted to check this place out for his birthday based off the vibes on their instagram page so I went with him. Our waitress was ok in terms of being personable but nothing special compared to any of the other food spots I've been to. He ordered a shot of Jameson and I ordered a double of don julio. She brought him out a 1.5 of Jameson in a sauce type cup and she brought me out a 1.5 of don julio just in a larger cup than my friends and told me "I charged you for a double"( i understand how 1 shot fits in my mouth vs how 2 shots doesn't fit in the mouth) I spoke on it after she asked if I she could get me another shot and I politely declined saying "that definitely wasn't a double" she offered to bring her another shot "on her" and I declined and told her don't worry about it, and that it was all good" She brought it anyway and I poured it in the large cup just to confirm the level of the first one being a single shot and it was. My food came out first and it was good food. My friends food came out about 15 minutes later so I was finishing up my food when he started because I didn't want my food to get cold. We ordered 2 entrées, 2 coffees, 3 shots, 1 soda and the bill came out to about 100. All in all it wasn't a bad experience but I don't think I would go back just off the food being good read more

Shelter in place boredom warning - I'm at home pondering the food I'd like to eat and reminisced over a visit to LuvCafe from earlier in the year. My friend had Bo xao nui (stir fried beef over penne pasta) while I had wonton noodle soup. The beef pasta dish was very aromatic, effervescent smell of beef and sesame oil right off the wok. I didn't try any myself but judging by the way my friend attacked his food, it seems to be a quality offering. The wonton noodle soup was paradise. Outside of the obvious from the photo, this dish includes fried pork skins (they're the curly object that resembles fried wonton wrappers or fried calamari strips). The wontons were flavorful and the broth had the right amount of sesame oil to give it just the right touch. Can't wait for them to reopen to try the rest of their food menu. read more

We stopped by for coffee before starting on an 8 hour road trip. Imagine our surprise when we walked in and saw the following: nearly 60 men seated throughout the "cafe" drinking beer, chain smoking, and watching sports (and maybe some other stuff) + only two girls working and they were clad in bikinis. Now WE were just looking for coffee, and we got 3 orders of Vietnamese Coffee to-go. The prices are reasonable, the girls are pretty, and the orders were prepared speedily. Obviously, my group of early 20s aged people (3 guys, 2 girls) did NOT fit into the crowd. I respect what the establishment is putting out there for the vibe, but we felt pretty unwelcome unfortunately :( We were already getting side-eyed by pretty much all of the older Asian exclusively-male crowd, but we also received subpar service from one of the girls working (she spoke with attitude and literally walked away when one of us asked her a question about the menu). The other girl was SUPER nice though, and I think she understood that we were literally only looking for coffee so BLESS YOU SO MUCH for not making an already awkward situation more awkward and just treating us like normal patrons. Anyways, the coffee is actually pretty good, very strong of course, and reasonably priced. I probably won't come again, but it's not because of the quality of the food... First timer from MN. I been following the Luv Cafe in Instagram since the pandemic era. Since I recently became a bachelor again, I decided to go check it out Saturday June 17. Planned on being there for 90 minutes I was there for 7 hours! That's how good it was. Also all thoughts of me quitting women forever, becoming a buddhist monk vanished at hello when I got greeted by the Hoa girls walking at the door. So much Luv in the air. I had so much fun thanks to good conversations. I ended up eating for 5 cuz the food was good. I uploaded my receipts, prices are very good. This place will change you. You walk in a bitter man, you'll walk out in love and possibly wanting a Vietnamese wife. They make a man wanna learn how to speak Vietnamese. I guess that's why it's called the Luv Cafe. Nothing beats good eye candy, good food and music. Depending if you're lucky or not the staff may call you "Anh Oi". According to Google it's how you address a husband, boyfriend, or someone older in Vietnamese. It's an endearing way of calling for someone such as "sweetie" or "honey". Check it out for yourself.
