    Takoyaki

I love coming here. I'm not in the area often, so make a point of stopping if I am to stock up on supplies like gohan desuyo and shitake dashi no moto. And if at all possible, I plan my timing around lunch, when all the delicious goodies come out! Their sushi is miles above grocery store or mall sushi! The rice is soft and perfectly seasoned. And the futo maki are so large a normal person could not fit a whole one in their mouth! Lucky for me, I don't have to worry about that! The inarisushi are like little delicious pillows. And I can't pass up the takoyaki. So delicious, I almost forgot to take a pic! With a drizzle of kewpie mayo, delicate bonito shavings, and a little sprinkle of shoga. The service is always very polite and friendly. Until next time!

Originally within the building on the north. Now moved to the building on the south. It has anything and everything imported from Japan. Worth a visit when at J-Town.

If you want to shop for Japanese grocery and snacks, this is the place to go! Heisei Mart is a Japanese grocery store located in J-Town with a large selection of products as well as cooked meals to go. This is my ultimate go to place to restock on Japanese snacks and drinks. I will make a trip just to snacks once in awhile and you will find some of the most unique and Japan exclusive snacks you won't find anywhere else. Although this is a specialty Japanese supermarket, their prices are pretty fair. If you love deals, remember to check their sale section also. There's been occasions where I purchased items that are cheaper here compared to other supermarkets that happen to carry the same products.

Heisei Mart is a little grocery store in the J-Town Shopping Complex. It sells Japanese items that are difficult to find in other grocery stores. They have a section near the cash register of items nearing their "best before" date at a discount. They have some ready-to-eat items as well. I loved looking at all the Japanese candies and snacks. Prices are a bit high, but this is to be expected since they have to import from Japan. If you are looking for a specific Japanese item and can't find it anywhere, I think there's a good chance that you'd be able to find it here.

Overall I love every single bento here. There are different little dishes in 1 bento. You can taste everything and it's not oily but healthy delicious food

Heisie Mart is that Japanese grocery store inside J-Town. If you want to cook a real authentic Japanese meal at home, you can get all the condiments, ingredients and even vegetables you need. different brand of Miso soup powder, dried wakame seaweed, ponzu marinate, Japanese candies, coffees... all the dry goods you can imagine. Price wise is relatively high as most of them are imported directly from Japan in limited quantities,

3.5 stars This Japanese grocery store is filled with produce that you can't find anywhere else in other supermarkets, let alone in Chinese supermakets! I've tried all four kinds of onigiri (tuna, salmon, seaweed and plum) and all were lacking in filling :/ Bento was okay - some ingredients weren't that fresh but I really appreciate the fact that you are given fresh rice!

This supermarket is a bit out of the ordinary. It is a continous stream of stores and shops connected with one another. One side you have the food court/take out area. The food is great and fairly priced. Next to that is the supermarket where you can get your everyday goods. Nothing too special about this place except you can find more ramen choices then the usual supermarket. Next to that is a bakery where they bake fresh goods on a daily basis. Highly recommended. To the left of the bakery is a butcher shop with meat that you wouldn't usually find at a normal shop (ie. marrow etc) and the prices are very fair. Finally you have a quick serve sushi restaurant on the far left of the plaza. This place servers great sushi and allows you space to sit and eat. It's about time you get to find your usual rolls without having it owned by a korean or chinese family. Keep in mind that coming to this area is a bit of an issue. It's located in a plaza where you must go from steeles to get to. You can't go straight from the ING building and there's lot s of traffic during business hours. The parking lot is pretty full during the day. Either way it's recommended to visit. Definitely a different scenary compared to the usual chinese plaza's (ie. metro square and pmall).

Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Yes!…read more I don't shop here often but when I do, their products are top notch - fresh and worth every penny! It's definitely expensive shopping here but you really do get what you pay for. I come here mainly for their bakery items like their famous jelly roll cake - a must get for the holidays! Their cookies here are baked in house and delicious as well. I often come here during the holidays for herbs as well, since herbs seem to sell out quickly at larger grocery stores. They really have everything that you need here. Butcher section also has great quality meat. As for their ice cream pints at the back of the store - you MUST get some! They are so delicious with unique flavours, some even with an Asian twist. Overall, a great grocery store to shop from if you have the means for it ;) OR stop in here once in a while to check out their specialty items like the jelly roll!

I stopped by to pick up one of their infamous jelly rolls. Never had one but heard that it's amazing. The standard one is the mixed berry however they had a lemon & blueberry one so I opted to go with that since hubby loves that flavor combination. We took it to a friend's house that night and it was exquisite! My friends who said that they normally don't like cake now have a new addiction. The cake had the perfect texture to it to hold up all that amazing fresh cream, lemon curd and blueberries and it was also a perfect balance of sweetness. I've been there on multiple occasions while living in Markham usually interacting with the staff in bakery and the cashiers and everyone I have encountered has been lovely. The parking lot isn't massive but it is enough to host all of their shoppers as I've never had an issue with finding parking there.

This place is huge, and sells all kinds of things. Parking is a bit hectic, even at 1:45 on a Thursday afternoon. The parking spots right in front of the Food Mart are very small, and scary for a big SUV like mine. But there is very frequent turnover, and if you just drive around the lot for 30 seconds, someone will be pulling out. The parking spaces in front of the stores facing the Food Mart are larger and a bit easier to navigate. This mall is great fun to go to. They have all manner of foods (fresh noodles! Great fruits! Asian stuffed toys and cosmetics! Fresh meat and seafood! The list goes on and on ...) and an excellent prepared food counter, and a Chatime outlet. We bought some mochi, some enormous strawberries, and a variety of dim sums from the food counter. Our selections included fried dough sticks (they actually reheat well in the air-fryer), fried squid, scallion pancakes, seafood and pork dumplings, some delicious pork and shrimp mini-pancakes. The squid was the way my daughter likes it (chewy), and I enjoyed some as well. Everything else was great, although the dumplings were a bit past their peak, and should have been switched out for new ones. We also enjoyed some delicious bubble tea from Chatime, which always has new, seasonal selections to tempt you. Basically, a trip to the Asia Food Mart is really fun, as they have such a diversity of products. Next time, I'm coming here to shop "for real" (meaning actual groceries, as opposed to lunch or snacks). The butchery and fish counters serve really fresh food at a good price, and there are some great deals on produce. You can't get around the fact that this is a snack haven. You should check it out now!!! It's open 24/7.

My family and I had just eaten at the Pacific Mall, but man, wish we had saved ourselves for this spot. As far as an Asian grocery stores go, this is one of the cleaner, and better organized ones that I have been to, maybe ever. Not only are they clean, but they have a great variety of snacks and drinks, as well as your standard fare for everyday cooking. To me, the star of this place has to be their prepared foods area. Evidently after 8pm, they mark down lots of their prepared food items. From dim sum, to noodles, fried rice and other entrees, you can score plenty of items for $4-6 which were normally 2-3x that. I felt like a kid in a candy store and began snatching and hording all the things. I had to stop and remind myself we were on vacation, and would be living out of hotels for the next few days, so I limited myself to just a handful of items. We got some noodles, fried rice and dumplings, which we would end up eating for breakfast over the next few days. While nothing was mind blowing per se, the food was solid and certainly economical. If I lived in this area, I could see myself coming here on the regular just for the prepared foods. OVERALL - almost wish I hadn't come to this place, so I'd never knew what I was missing. Thank you Canada for showing me what's possible. CELEBRITY RATING - Simu Liu

But they also have an underground parking which has more spots available. I noticed that this T&T Supermarket is definitely on the smaller side compared to their other locations, especially the one at Warden & Steeles that is much bigger. Selection here is also less since their space is smaller. I came and got lucky with finding their viral $12 fried whole chicken and knew I had to get myself one. Took it home to have for dinner and it was delicious and definitely a bang for buck type of item. You can find prepared foods here like sushi, breads, dim sum, chinese dinner dishes and more. I like their loaves of bread here as there is a huge selection of this ranging from sweet to savoury. They have a fresh meat counter and seafood counter as well so your items can be as fresh as possible. They have self check out areas too if you're looking to check out without speaking to anyone. I definitely prefer their cakes over other places as it's not overly sweet.
