I ordered the Chicago beef for lunch and it was amazing. Slow roasted sliced beef with pickled peppers and veggies. The sauce was fantastic. They have really good fries, lightly battered and doubled fried. Crisp and flavorful. For the kids, a good sized cheeseburger and chicken strips. No complaints from them either! Service was fine, the place has open seating and a bar, pretty typical these days. They also have an arcade with several games and prize based activities. Overall, a great day/night out in Clayton. This is also located right off I40 on route 42, there are a lot of other establishments to check out as well for drinks, dessert or second dinner!

The disappointment was the service and food. Our waitress was very friendly but she didn't know the menu or even the specials for that evening. I ordered a margarita which took over 15 minutes to arrive. The place wasn't busy and three of the staff were sitting at the bar chatting so I don't understand why it took so long to come to the table. The margarita was on the weak side. We ordered the Scotch eggs, sausage rolls and poutine. The eggs of the Scotch eggs were cooked perfectly but the sausage meat was extremely overpowering. I think they must add a lot of seasoning in it, and honestly it was too much for me. The breading was good and fried well but the sausage was so overwhelming that I just took the egg out and ate that. I do think they use the same sausage meat in the sausage rolls. The pastry was nice and they were a good temperature. But again the sausage meat was so strongly seasoned it was off putting. I do want to note that I grew up in Scotland so I am probably a harsh critic of the Scotch eggs and sausage rolls but my American husband thought similarly to me. The poutine was good. The cheese curds were nicely melted and the gravy was nicely balanced. It was a cool place to check out but I wouldn't go back in a hurry.

The fact I haven't been here before now blows my mind!…read more We stopped in around 630 on Wednesday and I will say, the place looked closed but don't let that deter you. We walked up and were immediately greeted and seated. I ordered an apple pie cocktail (this is a must order) to start and they brought a basket of rolls. The rolls were so soft and fluffy! I know people talk about roadhouse rolls but these are definitely right up there with them! And they came with this cinnamon butter that was incredible. I may have eaten the other half of my boyfriends roll. He ordered a steak topped with Asiago and mushrooms while I ordered the new Orleans salmon. The steak was so incredibly tender. It basically melted in your mouth. My only slight disappointment was the alfredo sauce for the salmon was broken and a little lumpy. The flavor was on point but I would have preferred a non-broken alfredo sauce. This is now one of my favorite steakhouses and I'll definitely be returning in the future!

The appetizer, calamari was good. When our dishes arrived, fettuccini Alfredo, pasta ala vodka and clams with spaghetti, the waitress dropped we were not offered fresh pepper or grated cheese. She never came back after we tried our meals, had she she would have known that my dish was cold. I had to take my plate to the kitchen myself to ask for it to be heated. The pastas were bland as were the clams, no flavor. The bread served, I do not believe that was house made, it was ok.

There is ample outdoor dining and a full-service bar with a good selection of draft beers. I particularly like the diverse menu and surprising variations on many tried and true classics. The Deviled Eggs starter is kicked up a notch with the addition of Jalapeño and Bacon. I really like the Chicken & Waffle Sandwich. The slightly crunchy Belgian Waffle is wrapped around a crispy fried Chicken Breast and topped with Hot Chipotle Honey - yum! If you are looking for a plate full of pure comfort food, try Mom's Meatloaf. The substantial portion of this old-fashioned favorite brought back fond memories of mom's kitchen. For something a little out of the ordinary, try that Canadian favorite (with a twist) Short Rib Poutine. The French Fries are smothered in a Hot Jalapeño Gravy, Garlicky Cheese Curds, Green Onions and chunks of Fork-Tender Boneless Short Ribs - so delicious. For something more basic, there's a very good Grilled Chicken Sandwich on a Brioche Bun. The fresh House Salad with Lettuce, shredded Cabbage and Carrots, Cucumber and Cherry Tomatoes is a perfect accompaniment for this hearty winner. There were a couple of items that missed the mark - at least with us. The Veggie Wrap with Coleslaw was bland and uninteresting and the slaw was not to our liking. We also did not care for the Tomato Bisque.
