I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody that wants delicious authentic Mexican food I have a background in culinary arts with my associates in science in San Diego California when I came here to Smithfield, North Carolina I found this what I wanna call a gold mine the Chef the back of the house the front of the house Nico and his wife the owners absolutely amazing this young man and his beautiful wife have literally blew my mind with this restaurant with the way they carry themselves the way they treat their customers the cleanliness of this restaurant, the environment the music, the drinks, the food the way they handle. Their employees is absolutely ridiculously amazing 10 out of 10. Walking in first thought is how clean and bright. I then used the bathroom. I have a disability and needed the restroom only to find out, no toilet paper. Keep in mind the restaurant wasn't busy. I then had to walk to another stall in the woman's restroom only to find out that door doesn't close. So trying to take care of business while holding the door with a bad knee and back wasn't fun. Came out, in pain to order. The staff are very kind and prompt except our waiter is new and we didn't see him for a bit but the waiter nearby helped us. The food is definitely fresh but very overpriced for the lack of flavor. Don't think we'll came back. read more

Many housemade items from the chips, salsa - ask for their house made hot sauce to spice it up. Corn tortillas, housemade. Great atmosphere, upscale cuisine, not your Americanized mush. Fresh ingredients, great presentation. Worth every penny. Bright decor and the music is fun. Thought I was in Puerto Vallarta, lol. Soccer on TV, other Hispanic shows. Fun. Service was spot on. It's very clean place, and the food was excellent now. You can taste its fresh and authentic. We are doing a drive down south and just happened to stop in here because we are staying at a hotel across the street and it was some of the best Mexican I have had. read more

We went this weekend and the server helped himself to an additional tip on our card after giving him a 20% tip in cash when we paid. I know that's nobody took the cash other than our server because I handed it to him directly...it was not left on the table for someone to take he had it in his hand. When we called to talk to them about it they informed us the only way we would get a refund would be if we came back in person to get it in cash. read more

I used to come here a lot now I don't came as much the reason being is the management are toxic believe it or not they will talk behind your back as a worker or a customer and the manager really doesn't care as much for the workers but he cares for one girl and he tries to talk to her even though the manager is married, and the girl is under age and also he's hired a PEDOPHILE to work there as well but the only reason why I come here is because of this one nice girl she has trouble speaking English, but her service is top-tier. Pretty and clean place. Chips and salsa were great! Food was decent. Price-wise it seemed like a 15% increase from other restaurants . I told my husband I assume for the ambiance (which is all wallpaper no handmade murals) -and bar. I did order a cantarito and that was not good. The steak burritos were yummy and they have plenty of meat. My husband liked his plaza Del Mar. I did notice that unlike-most restaurants that give you two sides with entrees they do not on a lot of items. My husband's only complaint was the rice it seemed like it's just packet rice not authentic but it was not bad. Our biggest issue is the kids meals. No kid ACPS are offered. The kids burrito looks like an enchilada it has a sauce over it and my kid did not eat it. So after she waited for her order forever since the waitress incorrectly ordered a pizza twice, when she finally got it we let her know that was not what we expected and we did not eat it. She didn't offer to remove it, nor did we ask. It's small things like this that make or break these places. I overheard another waitress with another table and she was so different she apologized for any mishaps and offered solutions. So maybe it was our waitress? Still left her 20% because I know that's her income and these issues aren't all her. I think overall if you like Americanized Mexican food you will enjoy. My daughter and I visited for the first time today at about 2:30 in the afternoon We ordered a combo to share with a grilled steak taco and a beef and cheese tostada. I must say that the rice and refried beans were some of the best we ever tried. Great taste to both items. The steak in her taco was grilled very well. The meat was tasty juicy and perfect. My beef and cheese tostada was plain without any toppings of lettuce, tomato, etc., which was a little disappointing. The beef and cheese part were tasty. The tostada was delicious. It had crispy edges, which added a lot to the flavor. There was a generous portion of ground beef filling. The service at 2:30 in the afternoon was OK but certainly could've been improved. I would recommend the staff being encouraged to smile as several of the folks did not appear to be enjoy enjoying where they were. We will return to the restaurant if we're in the area but will not make a special trip just to go there as we live about 25 miles away. One down note was the hat I requested and was given about a 2 ounce cup of sour cream. I was charged $2.00. Generally speaking that's way more than I've ever paid for a small cup of sour cream at any other restaurant. I would recommend they review their pricing to ensure it's in line with what is expected by their customers. read more

We have eaten here 8 times and every thing we have tried has been good. The amount of chicken or steak in the meal is adequate, the toppings are great and very fresh. Drinks are also good. Service does very a lot each visit, I don't like having to find my server for a refill and they frequently don't bring enough chips and salsa for the table. I would give 5 stars if totally basing my review on the taste of the food but I down graded to 4 because of service and it's a good bit more expensive to eat here than at all the other Mexican restaurants in the area read more

The worst experience, server did not know the menu and ignored me 3 times when I asked for my fajita sides. It took me asking for the manager to get my order. Really cool atmosphere - eclectic, upbeat and fun ambiance! The food was good - loved the complimentary chips and salsa. The chips had a great texture and crunch! We benefited from some nearby tables that ordered items which required FIRE and enjoyed the shows! For dinner we ordered quesadillas and burritos and both were pretty good. I'm glad I got a salad with my quesadilla - it was very colorful! My bf said his rice was perfectly cooked. We splurged on desserts and the churro was something special- unique presentation and tasty! The chocolate passion cake was NOT good. Very dry on the outside and the inside had a nice flavor but was hard - just off. Overall it was a fun experience. A bit pricey, but worth it for a new experience. read more

Just traveling through and wish this place was in my hometown. It was delicious! Really fresh and authentic. We had an order of empanadas and 2 orders of tacos - chicken and al pastor. Both were really delicious - generous portions with beans and rice. The empanadas were excellent - crispy and flavorful - served with a small salad. If you live here you should go here. Me and my family went in to have dinner and a waitress sat us down , but she never came but to attend us. We've been waiting for 15 minutes without them attending us to ask for our drinks and not even the chips. While we got us to leave, we saw the waitress that's supposed to attend us just sit in the corner doing nothing. While we were waiting other families who came after us got immediately attended and got served way before when we got here a while ago. Honestly this have never happened before and it was just annoying. While we were heading out, our waitress got up immediately. We told her upfront that she and no one has attended us for 20 minutes. She just looked at us with a face of annoyance. The waitress are supposed to attend and serve us in restaurants, this one in particular did not do her job. Any other waitress could have noticed but they did not. We tried calling over another waitress, they did not give a bit of attention. Honestly, I am never coming back here. I have ordered takeout from here 4 times already & every time the food has been fantastic. I have ordered something different each time. I will say that I once ordered a chimichanga & it didn't come fried it was soft which was a bit disappointing. I thought they always came fried but, apparently when my coworker was ordering they asked which way we wanted it and he said soft, not knowing. moving forward I now know to get it fried. Aside from that hiccup everything has been great and I'll continue to eat and try new things here & tell friends and coworkers about it. Very good and great addition to have in Smithfield. read more

I stay in the area for work often and was happy to find this new upscale Mexican dining option. I ordered a spicy shrimp dish which was excellent. The ambiance was very nice as well. I would give both the food and ambiance 5 stars. Here's what brought it down to 3 stars. To begin with my lovely and extremely soft-spoken, to the point of whispering, waitress did not speak or understand basic English. I don't mean poor English; I mean virtually no English as it was impossible to get a response to a simple question such as another napkin, please? Is this dish spicy? May I have some more water? Secondly, you can only order drinks by scanning a QR code that is stuck to the table. Both times I dined here, the QR code didn't work at my table so I had to find an empty table to scan the code and go back and sit at my table. Not a huge deal but when the drink menu does come up, there are no prices on it. They have an impressive bar but no white wine whatsoever even though it is on the menu. They said that it was because they just opened but I returned two weeks later and still no white wine. I asked the non-English speaking waitress how much the margaritas cost, as I didn't want a jumbo margarita like in some Mexican restaurants. She didn't understand so I ordered it anyway. It was a very average size drink which tasted fine. Then when the bill arrived, I learned that it cost $18 which I felt was very high. I'm not on the beach in Cabo. If I'm back in this area, I might order take out and eat in my hotel room, but I won't dine in again. read more

They just opened so I would give them a little grace when it comes to the staff. We sat there for a good 5-7 minutes waiting for someone to even acknowledge us, let alone bring chips or drinks. The food was *very* average and the cost was way too high for average food. I got the supreme nachos and a skinny margarita and I didn't feel a thing from the margarita. I don't know that it actually had any alcohol in it! The nachos had sliced tomatoes and SPRING MIX salad!! Which was really weird to me. Finally, when you pay with your card, they have one of those machines where you tip them with the waiter standing there looking at you while you do it. It's super awkward. The waiter did fine once he finally showed up but it was still awkward. Also, they don't have the prices on the drink menu. If I had known my very crappy margarita was going to be $16.99, I wouldn't have gotten it! And it was too sweet. It tasted like one of those margaritas you get from the bottle at a grocery store. The ambience is very nice and it's a beautiful restaurant. They just need to make some major changes to the food and drinks. Hopefully it gets better as time goes on! read more
