I always walk out with $30-70 worth of clothes and with that money I get so much especially on discounted items. I know those are supposed to be more expensive ideally they should at least be half off not near retail price which defeats the purpose of buying them thrifted. Another thing, it's way too hot and stuffy in there. I've gotten used to it but they don't have AC only fans which doesn't do much only if you're in front of it. Other than that the pros outweigh the cons. The employees are cool, and honestly I typically spend like 3-4 hours there at most. I always look forward to coming here. If that trinket dish had one label at $24, I might have bought it but instead all it did was put a bad taste in my mouth!! The girl who initially helped me was brand new and very nice, and I completely understand that new employees are still learning, so I had no issue with her. I accidentally entered one digit of my phone number incorrectly, so about two hours after dropping everything off, I called the store myself. I was told my items had been processed about nine minutes earlier. At no point during that phone call did anyone discuss what they wanted to purchase, what they were offering, or ask me to approve anything. When I arrived, they were still going through the items, and I noticed one of my pieces had been listed as a medium T-shirt--which immediately stood out because I don't even wear a medium. I was then told the item had already been tagged to be sold. That was extremely concerning considering I had never reviewed or approved what they were taking or what I was agreeing to sell. Riley was professional throughout the interaction, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the overall experience. Other associates seemed far too comfortable inserting their personal opinions rather than simply addressing a legitimate concern about the process. I've sold and consigned clothing before and have never experienced anything like this. If a business is purchasing someone's property for resale, there should be complete transparency about which items are being accepted, what the seller is being paid, and an opportunity for the seller to approve the transaction before their belongings are tagged for resale. The entire process left me feeling like the priority was getting merchandise onto the floor for the lowest possible cost rather than making sure the person selling it actually understood and agreed to the transaction. Then, when I questioned it, the responsibility seemed to be shifted back onto me. Completely unprofessional experience, and I would not trust this process with my belongings again.

This place bills itself as a thrift store, but the prices are more in line with what you'd see in a consignment store. The aisles are very narrow in order to accommodate all the merchandise. They definitely have some collectible items, including some vintage stereo stuff. Inside you'll also find appliances, toys, furniture, tons of clothes, home decor, drum sets and electronics. They do offer sale prices on certain color tags which are likely the items that have been sitting around for a while. About half the space is given over to clothing and accessories, you'll also find three dressing rooms to try them on. This business doesn't just accept donations, they will purchase them as well. This thrift store carries a higher quality number of goods by far than your average Goodwill, but then again they are priced higher. Plenty of photos to peak your interest below.

The space is very truly a thrift shop--bit of everything everywhere in the main room, and it's very fun to walk around and look for little treasures! Kevin explained to me that he rearranges his shop pretty often (he cheekily calls the practice "funk shui") to get people's eyes on different items every time they come in. He tends to get his wares from estate sales, auctions, and considers himself a treasure hunter. And I must agree! Lots of treasures in Far Out, and I loved sifting through them. If you make your way in, you'll likely hear from Kevin that he's open to negotiation and bundling items for reasonable deals. He seems just to be genuinely excited to find cool items and give them new homes. And I appreciate that energy a lot. I came in looking, loosely, for some home decor as my husband and I outfit our home after moving back to Texas from Georgia. But nothing felt quite right on the decor side. But I saw some beautiful pieces and walked out of the store with a vintage book I was excited about. So I consider it a successful trip. :) Make a trip over to check out Kevin's treasures. How about these watches?" NOTHING like the one on Marketplace. Then I ask who responded to my text this morning and he says he did. "Must have sold today... I don't know. That watch was here for THREE weeks and no one bought it." I don't believe a word he says. This place is on South Congress (very far south) and a good 20 minute drive from downtown. The strategy must be to get people in the door with something interesting and then offer them a discount for their troubles. He tells me to look around. I walk around the whole store and find... nothing? Not one thing. I return to the front check out area and see a record that looks cool. Melissa Etheridge put out a new record in 2016, I must have missed it. "How much for this record?"
