Continues to get even better! We had their new assemble your own soup from a huge selection of components including a huge variety of tofu, fish balls, noodles, veggies and meats with a selection of broths. I had the Thai style and it was delicious! Gets busy on weekends but got seated immediately

Skewers heaven! They have a variety of skewer selection and other dishes. I like that they are flavorful but not heavy on the sauces and not burnt char. It tastes clean and the meats they used are decent quality. They do love garlic. A lot of the items we ordered have garlic on them. The service was fast. We got our food at a decent wait time. The staff was also on top of things - bringing the food, refilling drinks, and taking out empty plates. The place is also open late until 11:30 so it's a good place to hangout with friends after 9pm. They have beers and soju to complement the skewers. The place is well lit and has a lot of tables and seating. The price is reasonable. Will definitely go back!

I have been craving BBQ skewers since we haven't had it in a while. After doing an online search we decided to check out the new spot Hearth BBQ. We arrived on a Sunday early evening for dinner. Hearth BBQ is located in a nice busy Asian plaza in San Jose off De Anza Blvd and close to the 85 freeway exit. Parking is accessible in the large parking lot outside. The Chinese BBQ restaurant has nice simple modern decor. There are plenty of tables and booths for dining for both small and big groups. I find the atmosphere to be welcoming and bustling. You can order your food using the QR code. A tip I suggest is to ask the server if they received your order as the system might not get it. We ordered lamb skewers, signature beef skewers, grilled chicken heart, signature grilled shrimp, grilled green beans, sizzling whole large squid, white rice, grilled chicken skin, a bottle of soju and a draft beer. Everything was delicious. My favorites were the lamb skewers, beef skewers, and the large squid. The meat was tender and flavorful. The large squid was seasoned well and had big portions. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Hearth BBQ. The staff were nice and accommodating. The vibe was family friendly and breezy. We took advantage of the August discount promotion for your meal if you share your experience on social media which was nice. We hope to be back to try other items on the menu and share the experience with family and friends.

I came here with two friends for dinner on a Saturday evening. We were seated immediately at 6:30 PM, and noticed more groups come in around 7. We ordered with our stomachs, so ended up getting the following skewers: chicken heart, chicken skin, chicken cartilage, chicken gizzard, beef tendon, beef, pork belly, and lamb. We also got an order of ham trotter, grilled squid, two orders of the cucumber, two apple/kale juice, and a strawberry boba. As mentioned, the food is all seasoned the same so taste doesn't very much. I'm weak to spicy foods and didn't find the food spicy at all but flavorful. The apple/kale juice is good and with the cucumbers are a good deviation from the flavor of the meats. The meats were all good. The ham trotter I'd recommend a second glove (it comes with one) or a fork and a knife. Service was attentive and good, and the restaurant was clean and well organized. The only issue we ran into was that the griddle thing they put the skewers on was not hot even with both candles going, so I felt like I was eating warm skewers most of the time. I'd come back but only if I had a serious hankering!

First time I've ever gone to a Chinese BBQ Skewer place. Went with some friends during their grand opening where they had storewide discounts. Everyone places orders on their phone on their website, sharing the table menu. It can get hectic with everyone placing their own orders, and by the end of everything we think we may have received more skewers than we paid for but it was hard to tell. Overall their beef and lamb are the best ones. Price wise it's decent. In my opinion everything tasted the same because they were all loaded with the same spices. No adjustments to the seasoning is offered so if your spice tolerance is low you may have a hard time here.

Alaine M.

TIME: came here around 7:30, didn't get seated about probably 7:45 or so, the restaurant was full at the time, and this was on a saturday night. PLACE: the place was pretty big and the parking is kind of eh if it is a really busy time. you also order through a QR code on the table. FOOD: i don't really remember what we specifically got, but we got fish, steamed buns, corn, asparagus, pork, lamb, and beef. all had the same seasoning which made it unique to what chinese bbq is but it's not particularly my favorite in my opinion, but if you really like chinese bbq this place would be optimal. OVERALL: chinese bbq isn't my favorite but this place is cheap and nice, my favorite out of everything. would be the steamed buns and it makes the savoriness of the seasoning and meat tie down with everything.

Ivy C.

What a cute place! And they have very nice, friendly wait staff. The food was pretty good - not the best Chinese bbq I've had, but it was solid. As someone who's only had this a few times, this restaurant goes lighter on flavor. And everything comes with spice - so if you've can't take spice, this will be a tough place to eat at. Maybe because they're so busy, but some of the dishes were overcooked or not grilled nicely. Highlights: Any tofu or bean curd dish Fish tofu Stinky tofu Eggplant Bean curd noodles Takoyaki THEIR DESSERTS! Omg, cream filled balls and custard filled rice cakes. This was by far the tastiest part of the meal. All in all, I would return but only if there's no wait - and maybe just for tofu and dessert.

Had such a great experience at Hearth BBQ! The Apple & Kale Fiber Fruit Drink was surprisingly refreshing and honestly one of my favorite drinks here. The sweet and sour chicken rack was so flavorful and unique!! I wasn't expecting it to be this good! Usually I'm used to the ones that are super spicy! The chicken cartilage skewers had the perfect crispy texture!! Everything came out fresh, and the skewers were grilled perfectly. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're craving great BBQ. I'll definitely be back!

Michelle W.

- the interior is modern, clean, and great for late nights as they have a big tv playing the World Cup - ordering is simple - the scan the qr and order, they place a receipt on your table and slowly check off when your orders arrive - this place got busy closer to 6 so you put your name down on a tablet and wait - the service can be a little slow, I'm sure because they're still in their soft opening phase and a lot of customers were in this day - loved the meat skewers! The lamb, beef, and pork were all so tender, juicy, and flavorful without being overwhelming - I'd recommend the stinky tofu dish, it was extremely crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside EDIT: down to 4 stars, the service was very slow now. Even when we waved down the workers to ask them to check our last remaining skewers, they seemingly forgot and we waited even longer. We had to wave them down again which was difficult because no one was walking around our area! I understand they are overwhelmed but lots of people were waiting for tables as well

Very flavorful and enjoyable soup and dry mix. Service is nice as well, highly recommended to try vs Malatown!

We were seated right away since all of our party was here. It was a busy place with lively music and the servers were very helpful and made sure our water glasses were filled. The skewered food was delicious and very tasty. We ordered various options. Be sure to let them know you placed an order so the servers know to look out for your order. The food came out quick and so tender. I suggest asking for any additional dipping sauce. It was a good experience

绝了好好吃肉质好好羊肉串真的好香啊吃的停不下来而且还有好吃的大油边服务也很热情很好绝对会再来的而且环境也很好不像别的烧烤店很吵个人认为定价也很实惠的 The food was absolutely amazing! The meat was really tender and delicious. The lamb skewers were so tasty that I couldn't stop eating them. The service was very warm and friendly too. I'll definitely come back! The atmosphere is also really nice, it's not noisy like a lot of other barbecue restaurants

Don't get me wrong, the food was pretty good. But it took them 3-5 business days to get each skewer out to us. We ordered around 10 variants of skewers and we were there for around an hour and a half. The staff kept getting confused about our orders too. We weren't even full by the end of it but I did not want to order and wait even more. The cherry on top was that it took them another 10 minutes to get us the bill. I couldn't make it to the boba shop next door in time before they closed because this restaurant took too long for everything. But the food itself was good, well seasoned too. The customer service was just very frustrating. read more

This is almost as good as GAO's BBQ, and I'd probably make Hearth my go-to spot with a few small changes. Hearth's strengths: less oily skewers and a much calmer, more enjoyable atmosphere. GAO's strengths: cumin and spicy seasoning on the side, a softer style of tofu skin, and a larger skewer selection (especially beef tongue and chicken). I'd love to see Hearth add: 1. More cumin on the A Choy and green bean skewers (and offer cumin and spicy seasoning on the side so customers can adjust to their taste). 2. A softer tofu skin option like GAO's. 3. Beef tongue and chicken skewers (without soft cartilage). There have been a few times I've chosen GAO's simply because I could customize the seasoning and preferred their tofu skin. If Hearth made these additions, it would easily become my go-to BBQ spot and I'd change my rating to 5 stars. read more

Fortunately for us, we were only a party of two so we were quickly seated. Our server was a very nice guy who briefly went over the menu with us and was super patient when we said that it was our first time here. A nice little touch was that initially they were going to see us at a table near the window, but noticed that someone's phone was charging near there so he quickly moved us to a different table even though it would've been more convenient to place us at that table. We ordered the beef brisket Soul Bowl and half of "Not Yo Nachos" with beef brisket. Contrary to the size of both of these entrées, they were actually very filling, and we had to bring them home to go. The soul bowl was very flavorful and filling where the brisket was nicely seasoned and not too sweet. Then again, I do not have the biggest sweet tooth when it comes to barbecue. The only thing I wanted to point out was that the mac & cheese was a little bit on the dryer side but other than that, I would recommend the bowl if you're someone who can't finish a whole entree. I have very similar thoughts with the "Not Yo Nachos" because they tasted very identical to the soul bowl excluding the Mac. When I have a bigger appetite, I would love to come back here and try the full barbecue plates!

The location that we went to is located next to Maggiano's Little Italy in Santana Row on Olin Ave. There is a free 2 hour parking structure across of the restaurant where my boyfriend and I parked at. We came during their Lunch Specials (until 4pm) and Happy Hour (from 3-5:30pm) which worked perfectly as we wanted something smaller in portion compared to the dinner portions. We started off with drinks. I got their Pig Ol' Bitties Blonde Ale, and my boyfriend got their Friday Beer & Shot special of This Little Piggy Went to [Mark]et with a 16 oz Dirty Little Pig IPA and a shot of Benchmark whiskey. My fault for having him get a whiskey shot on an empty stomach, though HAHA. He did like how smooth the whiskey was at least! We shared a 2-meat BBQ Lunch Combo Plate, and honestly, we should have gotten 3 meats because of how tender and delicious everything was! We got their Tri Tip and Sliced Brisket with their Garlic Mash and server recommended Sweet Potato Tots. Ahhh, everything was so good! Aside from the tender, flavorful meats, the two sides, especially the garlic mash, were sooooo good. We both loved everything! It was definitely a great choice coming during lunch as we were quite full after ordering one of their happy hour shareables of Chips & Queso (kind of pricey even for happy hour in my opinion for chips and cheese). Honestly wished we got their Chili Cheese Fries or their other fries which were the same price than just chips and dip LOL. But it was a good hold over food with us drinking a bit (at least for me). Shoutout to the only server who was working on a late Friday afternoon as she was doing her best to accommodate everyone + trying to clean up the previous tables. It was kind of sad seeing that the other workers didn't help bus the tables in my opinion. Overall, a great place to watch sports and have some good whiskey as this restaurant is known for their whiskey selections! The lunch BBQ exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely come back for another lunch special meal but probably with 3 meats this time!

You cant really find a skewer place with this type of vibe, def a spot i like to take my out of town friends to for a good time I love getting the fried tofu skins, this is my favorite skewer to get. Yes they add hella chillies in here so you have to pick it out, but its hard to find places with a razor clam dish that is super tasty and flavorful The alcoholic drinks here are super unique and interesting, my method is to go for the cutest branding, and just order it, and suprisingly it ends up working in my favor LOL my favorite part, is the seasoning they use on all the skewers! that classic chinese taste :D

They're all coated with the same seasonings here so it's easy to get tired of so I always order a few of the grilled vermicelli oysters which are so tasty, and I love all the garlic it comes with! Some other good skewers are the chicken skin, pork belly, and corn. Love the drinks here too, most recently noticed they added an alcoholic blind box to the menu and it was so exciting to try 12 different mystery shots. Had a great experience here! We ordered the lamb, beef, pork belly, oyster mushrooms, chives, egg choy, scallops with noodles, and chicken skin. Everything came out incredibly fast, and the staff was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The quality of the food really stood out. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and flavorful. The lamb was probably my favorite, it was tender and delicious. The chicken skin was also surprisingly good, nice and crispy with great flavor. Every dish we ordered was enjoyable. One thing I especially loved was the selection of dipping sauces. The cumin powder, spicy powder, and sesame sauce paired perfectly with the grilled meats and added even more flavor. The restaurant itself is clean and modern. The feature wall is definitely the main eye-catcher, and all of the furniture looks new and well-maintained, giving the place a fresh, welcoming feel.
