First tome here & definitely NOT the last! Headquarters Bar and Eatery was seriously impressive! The prices were super reasonable, but it was the ultimate combo of food, drinks & ambience that really blew me away. The ambiance was awesome--big screen TVs everywhere, a spacious open layout, and a fun vibe that makes it perfect for any event or casual hangout. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive and I kept seeing the chefs checking on the food ensuring the guest were pleased. Right away I knew chefs take real pride in the way they make and plate the food. They've got a great variety on the menu, but I went with the fish tacos and sweet potato fries, both were tasty and full of flavor! I was so impressed by the way they plated the fish tacos not only were the fish tacos loaded with all the goodies, but on the side, they had included delicious rice with lots and butter and lime, as well as pickles purple onion. For drinks, we tried the bartender's special, a rum cocktail that was seriously a party in glass SO good! My mom had the classic Moscow Mule that was crisp and refreshing honestly, you can never go wrong with a Moscow Mule All around, a fantastic experience. I'll definitely be back soon! read more

Came back here to try a few more things out. So far everything here has been great and the service has also been amazing each time. This time around I did the steak and noodles dinner which was really good. The portion size was more than you would think and definitely worth every penny. We went for a late lunch and i'm glad we did! I had been wanting to try this place because of the reviews. We had a great time. The food was good, service was good, very relaxed atmosphere with t vs to watch the game and comfortable seating. I can't wait to go back and try their chicken marsala and their happy hour choices for food and drinks. We ordered the korean wings half order and added on a side of fries for only two dollars and it was a very large serving of fries. Both were delicious and I swear those are the best fries i've ever had!!! The wings were crispy and yummy, and the korean sauce was a little bit spicy and sweet. We also ordered the lettuce chicken wraps with peanut sauce, very good and a very large serving. The Bloody Mary was good and strong. Of course I wanted to try this place out ASAP. It wasn't too packed which is crazy but we got right in. Our waitress was not friendly, like at all. She wasn't personable and was straight to the point. I got the fish tacos and they were ok. I was happy to see they used golden corn tortillas and the fish was flaky and cooked perfectly. I just wish they'd have used long skinnier pieces than chunks. I really liked the pickled onions that came with the tacos as well. I substituted a side salad for the rice but got the rice anyway. I told them of their mistake and was quickly brought the salad but no dressing. I asked several times for ranch and never got it. The hubby got the nachos and said they were good. He liked the chips saying that they were homemade which was a nice twist. My daughter enjoyed the fish and chips. Overall this place suffers from just being new and working through some kinks. We stopped in for a midweek lunch and had the place mostly to ourselves. It's a large dining room with lots of tables and lots of TVs, but the sets weren't turned up loud. We had the artichoke and brie appetizer, beef garlic noodles, and Greek tacos. Everything was pretty good but could do with little tweaks to make it very good, which might just be personal preference. Service was good, friendly but not hovering. The food here is great but I had a pretty bad experience for my first time which is why I have rated it two stars because that experience was not worth coming back. I do believe this could have been because this restaurant had just opened and it was their first weekend open, however I do feel like they should have been more prepared. First we get there and it took them about 10 minutes to acknowledge us standing near the hostess table even though there were about 5 different staff standing together. Then we get seated and they do let us know that it will be about 15 minutes before they can take our order because of how backed up they are. Which was understandable. However this is where it went wrong, it took them an hour for them to take our order for food despite us checking in, and seeing other people who came in after us get their orders in, and then another hour to actually get our food and again seeing other people who came in after us getting their food. And despite getting our drinks comped for the wait we still paid $40 not including tip for just two appetizers and a shake. Crazy!!!! I have never had this bad of an experience at a restaurant and being new is not an excuse. They did tell us that one of their cooks had walked out which is why it was taking so long, however they didn't tell us this in the beginning. If they had we would have left and come back another day to try it again. But this experience was not okay, and I definitely will not be coming back. read more

Well... All I can say went on a Monday night was pretty empty when we got there . It wasn't because the food was bad it was on point . The calamari was on point and the mac and cheese man wow!! It's start getting a little busier when we sat down plenty of TVs to watch full bar they did a good job transforming it from Brooklyn's BBQ back in the day to what it is now real nice what they did to it remodeling and redoing it My girl got the fish and chips. And they give you a lot of it The macaroni and cheese was on point had bacon bits on it and very very creamy. Of course they have happy hour menu a lot to choose from. We were so excited to try this place out, love to support local businesses over chains. The reviews were so high I guess my expectations might've been too high as well. The positives! Good location, loved the decor, and ambiance. Service was also great super attentive and kind! The cons! Very expensive for the quality. Especially the kids meals. Chicken strips were $8 then you had to pay $2 to have fries and $4 for a kids drink. $14 kids meal is WILD! We ordered the fried artichokes with "brie" cheese and I was so excited it sounded delicious! Whatever cheese they used was not brie it reminded me of cheap white cheese you sometimes get on nachos. My espresso martini was disappointing. Husband got the fuego burger and said it was just okay. I had the clam chowder bread bowl and it came out in a flat sourdough loaf that was no where near a bowl shape and maybe a cup of soup in it if that. Soup was very good though! Overall the price and quality just do not line up, bummed with our experience. read more

The biscuits and gravy were comforting and flavorful, the açaí bowl was fresh and vibrant, and the Bloody Mary had the perfect kick and tasted so fresh. Nice tucked away spot in the La Caretta parking lot. The place is set up nice with a patio and tv's. Really like the chill vibe. It was Saturday night and not busy at all. Good music not too loud. The drinks were 100% fire. Well made old fashioned with the right cherries and square cube. The martini and michelada were also bomb. Oh and I recommend the "green Tea" drink. Very good. Now the food. Calamari was over fried and VERY rubbery. Obviously out of the freezer box and to your plate with no real care. The lettuce wraps.... Y'all need to do a little better. First you have to build them yourself if you see from the photos the chicken was pretty plain. The overall taste was decent but very messy and a pain to eat. Maybe do a little more with the chicken. The nachos with shrimp were decent. I'd order with chicken next time. Overall I really liked the vibe. The drinks were VERY GOOD. The food though.... Probably needs a little rethinking. I was really NOT looking forward to eating here. After looking at yelp pics I thought the food looked awful! But it was so good! I was so wrong! We had several menu items so I feel we got a good idea of the food. Mostly appetizers. We had pretzels with dipping sauces-yum! I think it was the wing sauce we didn't like, but the other 3 were great and more than enough. We had the fried artichokes with the brie. It wasn't a large portion, but we did split it with multiple people. I really enjoyed it and would've eaten more. Buffalo chicken flatbread was also good and the tuna lettuce wrapped looked less than appealing when it arrived at the table, but I did enjoy the flavors! It was satisfying. I do wish they had served it with more of the cabbage. My friend got the Greek tacos, big portion! He said they were good. Our server was so friendly and the food came out fast! Drinks took a while. In fact, I waited more than 10min for a glass of wine beyond when my friends received their drinks. It was nice with a large open area and clean. Kind of hard to really rate this one. So the service is 5 Stars!!! Our server Paige was spot on. Real attentive to what is happening in her area. Great suggestion on the menu and kind of menu that covers a lot of different foods. Not sure which direction they are taken on style. I order the blackberry bourbon which was really tasty. I do wish bars would serve more liquid over ice. Way too much ice in the $13 drink. My Spicy Beef Garlic Noodles was very tasty. I wished the beef had been more of a medium-rare instead of well-done. The noodles and the sauce had a great flavor and some of the beef was good while others bites were chewy. My wife ordered the fish and chips which was HUGE!!!! Unfortunately the fish was way under seasoned to the point of being bland. The sweet potato fries were really good and both were a huge portion. The establishment was real open with multiple tv's. The music was a bit loud making it hard to hear at times. We will be back to try more and reevaluate at a later date. Kudos to Paige she did an awesome job read more

My husband and I didn't care of the water. It has a nasty tap taste to it. My husband said the ice tea tasted like it too and sent it back. I had the chicken fried steak skillet. It didn't come in a skillet because they ran out? It wasn't even that busy when we went. I liked the chicken fried steak. It came with biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was drowning in the gravy which I didn't care for. My husband had the French toast and said it was basic. He said you have to pay an outrageous amount just to add sides. This place is just what Bakersfield needed I went there on Christmas day it has only been open 3 days. Let me tell you the ambiance it great it's a wide open dinning are Booths and high tables. They have a full Bar with perineum liquor the drinks are very well made the Bar Tender knows what they are doing. The customer service is great the staff was on top of everything very professional and kind. The food and appetizers are very delicious you will not be disappointed. I saw all the raving reviews about this place, so I thought I'd give it a try. Service was mid. The server was a little awkward, not really giving a welcoming vibe and giving no real smile. She tried to create rapport, but it came off a little too casual, asking what we were gonna do afterwards and then recommended we go to Dewar's (why not offer their own dessert?). We only ordered the artichoke and brie dip appetizer that was suggested, because nothing on the menu really caught our eye. In our opinion, it just wasn't it. We've never had fried artichoke before, but the fried aspect completely overpowered the flavor of the artichoke itself. The "spreadable" brie was not what I imagined, as brie is nice, thick, and creamy. The brie that was served was super melty to the point where it was liquidy. The garlic bread served on the side had no crunch, but instead was floppy. To add the cherry on top of a dissatisfying first visit, there was a fly in the dip. I wiped the bottom of the skillet to soak up the brie with my last bite of bread when I thankfully looked at it before putting it in my mouth. After the server apologized and offered a free dessert, we kindly declined...and ended up going to Dewar's like she recommended. read more

We decided to try this place after hearing a lot of buzz about it and here's my honest review. The vibe: a fancier sports bar (we dined at 6:30 on a Friday so breakfast may be a little different), lots of bright lights, loud music, and T.V.s We sat on the back wall with the bench and while the seating was comfortable it was a bit close for comfort. We could hear the conversations on both sides of us perfectly, which is nice if you like to eavesdrop but you better hope you have interesting people on either side, otherwise it's just plain annoying. We ordered the hummus and pita, the hummus had beans which I thought was weird but the combination was spectacular. The spicy jalapeños with the sweet corn and peppers were a perfect combination, the only complaint I would have is that they don't give you enough of the pita to go with the dip. The pita was fantastic as well, crispy on the bottom with a light, fluffy, buttery top. I ordered the spicy beef garlic noodles, the beef was far too overcooked for my liking, and it was too salty in my opinion. My husband ordered the fuego burger which was a good burger but nothing special in his opinion. The fries were fresh and nice and crisp. The service was very good, everyone was kind and quick. There are a few local restaurants in the NW where I like to go with a few friends for birthdays. I decided to check this place out. I also thought, since they're new, that what I observed might help as far as customer satisfaction. I tried to call, but no one answered and recording on voicemail stated it was full, so I'm leaving this review. Classic cheeseburger was very good. I asked for medium, and it was cooked rare, but the meat was good quality. Ordered a Biscoff milkshake. I didn't ask for it, but was charged extra for oat milk! Why?!? Was that why it was so runny and seemed to have so little ice cream? If I had friends that like to sit at high tables they'd probably like some of the seating, but we like booths and there was only one row of those and they faced the high tables and chairs. To me, it wasn't super inviting. The additional credit card fee is something some restaurants are now doing, but with the high cost of going out it's just an additional reason to say no to a meal out. I went to Brooklyn's went it first opened back in the day, and they did have their early on hiccups. No restaurant is perfect, but they also did have some pretty good barbecue. I think Headquarters needs something more +++ to draw people in & keep them returning. read more

My rating is more of a 4.5 We got the fuego burger, OG mac and cheese, truffle fries, and a buffalo chicken flatbread pizza. The fuego burger was yummy! I asked for pepperjack cheese instead of blue cheese. I wish the jalapeno was cut up and put inside instead of having to take bites of it on the side. The Mac and cheese was soooo creamy and good!! I loved it! Truffle fries were lightly seasoned! I don't like them overly seasoned so they were perfect in my opinion. The flatbread was my favorite. The bread wasn't soggy!! Came in on a Sunday morning, was able to be seated immediately in both. The menu is very simple yet everything is just a little bit different. We ordered a bloody Mary and coffee. My husband and I split the H Q Benedict with hashbrowns we added onion and bell pepper, and the biscuit and gravy. Our total was $33. I know this place has had a lot of different reviews and I can see where some of them come from. I think the company is working through staff to find the right ones for the positions. Seems like the weight staff is more experienced, and did a great job even if we weren't their table. However, the hostess could use a little more attentiveness and experience. I think we're still in the stage of having a difficult time finding good employees after Covid. All of our food was cooked correctly. The biscuit and gravy was amazing. My husband even said if we lived closer, he would be stopping by every morning to get one on his way to work. Ordering eggs Benedict is always a gamble as you never know if the eggs are gonna be cooked correctly. Today they were. My husband wasn't sure about the bloody. When I asked what the cheese was the waitress said they're out of Brie and have been serving the dish with the nacho cheese instead. I asked why she didn't make us aware of the change she made the excuse that they haven't had issues with it being served that way.
