He also dropped me off at the office (5 miles away) while he changed the brake pads/rotors on my 2007 911 cabrio with a quick turn-around time. Stuttgart Automotive couldn't tell how long the job would take and gave me a higher quote. Santa Monica Autoworks wouldn't give me a quote over the phone. He was a very down to earth and a cool mechanic who not only did what I asked and for a great price, he also topped off all of my fluids for free and even did the maintenance I requested in half the time he originally quoted. 5 stars for this shop. All I can say is amazing work and service. When was the last time a mechanic stepped out of the "work" zone and into the friend zone? I can say I trust Ernesto as a friend. He's done incredible and fast work on my 987s. Uses all OEM parts (or parts that are used as OEM, like Bosche). My Porsche was tracked HARD before I got it and is up over 100k miles. Lots of little bits were "modded" for tracking, as we found out. I wanted it back to 100% factory. And HD Motorwerks has it performing and looking like new. He explains every detail of the good, OK, and needed. I've called him several times with Porsche curiosities (for my car), and he's been helpful with great knowledge and conversation. The Check Engine Light on our '98 Boxster was on and the online message boards weren't helping us narrow down the possible issue. We tried this place based on the other Yelp reviews, and I'm so glad we did. Ernesto is a certified Porsche technician and he was able to identify the issue and fix the car in one day. He's genuinely honest and he knows his stuff. His price was almost half the estimates we got from some other places we checked into that don't specialize In Porsche work. I am very grateful to find this place! My Boxster S had a convertible top issue, dealer gave me the quote, a very expensive price to fix the convertible top. I found this place on Craigslist, Ernie (the owner and Porsche trained technician), replied me on the same day with much more cheaper estimate price. He also said that Its not necessary to replace everything. I dropped the car, and was so surprised by his professionalism. Very honest guy. He will tell you what needs and not to replace. Recently had a PPI done on a used Cayman. Ernesto is a former Porsche dealer tech and was very accommodating and thorough in his inspection explaining what he was doing along the way, and pointing out minor items here and there. My Cayman needed major service. Since I'm new to the area, I shopped around different auto-body shops near my work (Glendale - central at pioneer). The fact HD Motorwerks had a factory trained Porsche specialist and could pick up and drop off my car was why I chose to go with this shop.
