Due to Hurricane Harvey saturating the ground, weighing down the trees and bringing heavy winds, I had a tree uprooted and leaned against my fence and another large tree, all pointing to fall into my neighbor's yard onto their shed and septic tank covers. This was a terrifying sudden development at about 1pm today. Also due to the storm, most tree companies weren't available to answer their calls (understandable) so I kept going down the list of highly recommended tree services in my neighborhood. Roland, from Hill Country Tree Services answered. Within literally 5 minutes they were at my door, ready to look at the situation and give me a quote. The quote was great, but in order to save money I asked for a price with no hauling. We opted for that option. Meanwhile my neighbor asked for the wood, which can only be burned outdoors. They threw it all over the fence and then cut it into logs and stacked it neatly for her next to her fire pit. No extra charge. Not only that, they took the rest of the branches that were smaller and hauled it as a courtesy. They also blew all the leaves and twigs down from the storm off of my deck and patio. These guys were thorough, kind, fast and left everything in better shape than when they showed up. I'm beyond impressed and will 100% call them again for any tree work in the future. I couldn't be more impressed. I highly recommend giving them a call. By 4pm they're gone and my yard is in great shape, no damage to the fence or neighbor's yard. Roland Salinas is a scam artist! If you want to find out more, search Tim's Tree Trimming Service to get the complete story (there is even a video from KVUE news). Unfortunately, I found this out after Roland had caused damage to my roof and gutter. He was supposed to remove 3 dead branches over our roof. To do this, you need to tie off the limbs so they don't crash onto your house. Obviously, this was not done. After sending him a very fair invoice for the repairs, he intially agreed to pay and seemed sincere. Several months and phone calls later, no payment. He always came up with excuse after excuse. I question if he is really a licensed arborist. There was no sterilizing of his saw from one tree to the next. They just walked over from the neighbors trees and began cutting. Not professional at all. There are many more qualified and professional licensed arborists out there, so do your research and avoid using Roland Salinas or Hill Country Tree Trimmers. Needless to say, our attorneys are involved now and we will see where this goes. My guess, is Roland Salinas will change company names just like he did with Tim's Tree Trimmers. If Roland would have paid for the damages and been professional, my review would have been much different. read more

I want to highly recommend Hill Country Tree Trimming service. Our incredibly busy family have pretty much neglected our yard for several years due to heavy work load and college courses. We just don't have the time to care for our yard like we used to. As the holidays are around the corner, our yard needed serious help. We hired Hill Country Tree Trimming Service to raise the canopy on our oak trees, pull out a TON of scraggly holly bushes/vines, clean up flower beds and around trees, mow, edge, and remove all the yard waste. Even the fallen leaves that were all over our front/back yard before they arrived. The guys worked tirelessly all day and our yard looks PHENOMENAL. These guys went above and beyond. They were courteous, conscientious. They even removed a wasp nest by our son's bedroom window. We are so happy with Hill Country Tree Trimming that we hired them to do our yard every two weeks. Just moved up to Georgetown and saw so many good reviews for Roland and his crew, I figured I would give them a call to get the branches trimmed away from my chimney, and have a dieing tree cut down. They left me the good chunks of wood that I'll be able to use for firewood (as requested) and took all of the shrubbery. They did an excellent job! The back yard and all around the house looks great. When I bought the house I had some closing issues, so the house sat unattended for a few weeks after all that rain we got so I didn't want to try to mow it all myself. I also already had a lot of tree stumps in my yard that could wreck my mower, so he gave me a very generous quote to remove the stumps and cut down the overgrown grass. Really great guys, and you can see just by talking with Roland that he sincerely cares about doing a great job, and he will shoot you straight, and give very reasonable pricing. We have a large backyard and a ton of trees that we haven't really pruned much since we moved in 1.5 years ago. We called Roland, and he was excellent! He was very responsive and came out to provide a quote very quickly (we called late one afternoon and he came out first thing the next morning - very prompt). His initial quote, while very reasonable, was more than we had budgeted for, so Roland was great about working with us. In the end, we settled on having him trim only select trees (he also removed a couple for us). Since he wasn't able to help us with all of our trees, he gave us some tips/pointers on how/when we should trim the rest ourselves. He was very polite, very honest, and answered all of our questions. His team came out the same day and did an amazing job. They were very polite and worked quickly, removing all debris - it was amazing, and we were very pleased. Just had these guys out and couldn't be happier with the results. We just bought a house and had two big trees that looked like they hadn't been trimmed in a while. Branches were scraping the top of my car in the driveway and you almost couldn't walk under it on the sidewalk. Not to mention both were rubbing up against the house. I went with Roland and his crew because of the excellent Yelp reviews and the reviews were spot on! Roland was able to come out and give a quote a day or two after calling, and then they were out trimming the trees a few days later. The quote was fast and easy and he was sure to repeat everything I was asking for to make sure we were both on the same page about the work that needed to be done. The crew worked quick but were not sloppy by any means. I had limbs over hanging the roof and fence line and they handled both situations perfectly. I got 3 different quotes for trimming up our trees. We have 2 in the back of the home that we moved into that REALLY needed some heavy trimming. But because they are beautiful trees I was a little freaked out about letting just anyone touch them. The reason I went with Roland was because he knew the names of the trees and their growing patterns. He told us what we needed to do to keep them from getting overgrown like that again. They also trimmed up 2 very tall shrubs in the front and did a better job than I ever would have. He gave me tips on how to take care of them going forward as well. The whole crew was awesome. They were extra careful and ok with me overseeing the whole operation and both my husband and I are thrilled with how they came out. Just bought a house in Georgetown and needed to get the trees overhanging the driveway trimmed away so we could move in without damaging either the vehicles or the trees. I was researching companies to call when I saw the many good reviews for Roland and his crew. Roland returned my call within 15 minutes, was already working in Georgetown this morning and came by to look at the job about 2 hours later. His price was very reasonable and they could start right then. They did a marvelous job of raising the tree canopy, clearing the area over the driveway for the movers to access the house, and making it all look very clean and appealing from the curb. They hauled all of the trash away and completed their cleanup with a blower to make sure nothing was left behind. So, I needed a tree trimmed. I wasnt sure who to call. I called one service.. as I had seen the name around town.. I got no answer.. so I called Hill Country Tree Trimming, also have seen them around town, Roland took my call. He was great. Came to my house just a few hours later, after speaking with him to provide me with an estimate. price was great. he came back later the same afternoon to do the job. I am completely satisfied with the results. I am so glad the 1st guy didnt answer his phone. Roland was a much better choice than any of the other trimming services. Iv'e been putting off getting our two trees in the front trimmed because I just knew one needed to be taken down and I was afraid of the expense. I got an honest estimate from Hill Country and was able to get it done before Christmas! I was wrong about the tree needing to come down in the front yard. The guys at Hill Country said that it appeared to be healing and that it may be able to make it after all. They trimmed some of the larger lower branches and removed the dead ones to help lighten the load on the trunk. They even helped haul off wood from a small tree in the backyard that we had taken down ourselves. Now our neighbor is so impressed he is looking to have his trees taken care of with them. I highly recommend these guys. They respond to emails in a timely manner, they are on time when they say they are going to be there, and they do a great job of cleaning up after themselves before they leave. read more

We recently moved to the area and were vexed by the 2 large trees in our VERY small backyard. Concerned about roof damage caused by the trees, we called Hill Country Tree Trimming to schedule a free estimate over the weekend. Turns out their prices were SO much better than others companies we had looked into. After hearing their prices, they were actually able to schedule the work for later that same day. The crew came out, and got straight to work. In about an hour, the trees were trimmed back, the limbs hauled off and they even raked and cleaned up all the debris in our backyard! They were even so kind as to take a few photos of our roof to give us an idea of how soon we needed to get a roof inspector out. We've used other tree services in the past and were never quite satisfied. Sometimes it was the price, sometimes it was the extent or quality of work done. After reading the positive Yelp reviews, we decided to call Hill Country Tree Trimming for an estimate. Roland and Rudy promptly came to our home to look at our 40+ trees, gave recommendations for scope of work and quoted a reasonable price. They arrived the very next day along with an additional helper. We were so very pleased! They worked all day to deadwood and lift canopies, and even removed one tree. They hauled away all the debris and treated all the cuts to prevent oak wilt. The entire day they were so nice and professional. Our home now looks amazing!! It has been about 7 years since my last review and I have been using Roland and Hill Country seems like every year for the past 7 years. The continue to do quality work year in and year out and did some additional warranty work on a tree I had removed last year but just wouldn't die. They retreated it and hopefully that should take care of the problem. If not, Roland said to just call him and they'll do it again, no charge. I have many trees in the front and back and they do great work. Today they had to remove very high limbs hitting the top edge of my 2 story house and spruce up the back yard. I called Roland around 3pm on Weds, he had the job completed in less than 24hrs later, and it wasn't a small job. They cleaned up a huge Ash tree in the front yard that has never looked this good in the 8 years I've lived here. They also removed a pecan tree, trimmed back another pecan tree, and cleaned up 3 or 4 more trees. They did an excellent job, and was in and out in less than 3 hrs. They did a great job of cleaning everything up, including my pool! I loved that the guy who gave the original estimate was also the guy who was out there working with his crew! Roland's crew was trimming a neighbor's trees, and he rang our doorbell to see if we wanted an estimate to have our two oaks and two crepe myrtles trimmed. We have not had them trimmed since we moved in six years ago, and they were pretty thick and shaggy. His quote was reasonable, so they got to work. A few hours later, the trees were looking much better, with room to spread their limbs out and up, no longer brushing the house and roof, and all was cleaned up. And his workers not only trimmed my trees, but cleaned up some bushes out front as well. I asked him for some extra business cards to share with friends. We were referred to Hill Country Tree Trimming by Viridian whom we had used in the past for all of our tree canopying which was an awesome experience in itself. We were called immediately back and were told they were in the area and could they come over this am. We were given an excellent price and they began working immediately. Within 90 minutes they had removed all of the leaves from our bushes, rock beds and both front and back lawns. They did an excellent job and were so very professional. I saw Rudy and the team trimming up the trees of a neighbor. I asked for an estimate for my own trees. In mere minutes Rudy had identified the various trees around my house, their species, and the proper treatment for each, removing the dead branches, trimming up extraneous growth, and making the trees healthier. They were able to come out the very next day and did an excellent job. They were quick, precise, thorough, and very economical.. The owner was very nice, always answered calls or texts very quickly, and was very professional. We wanted trenches dug between the grass and mulch and the owner was so nice to try to save us money by showing us how we could easily do it ourselves if we wanted to save money, but he was glad to also do it. He also showed us a more permanent option to divide the grass and weeds by putting in metal lining, which is the option we went with and it looks WONDERFUL! I looked at other prices and Hill Country Tree Trimming had the best. We agreed on the trenches on Friday afternoon and the job was done first thing Monday! I highly recommend this company! read more
