I've hired Roland with HCCT for several jobs. Crew is always on time, knowledgeable, and have never let me down. Last job - crew worked extremely hard clearing a large Hackberry over a brand new pool. It was a tricky jobs and they nailed it 100%. The owners(my clients) were extremely happy. I will continue to recommend them and use their services. You can trust he will show up on time, give you a fair price, and get the job done the right way. Keep up the good work! read more

Roland and his crew were excellent. His worked quick and efficient. A no nonsense attitude. His pricling was also reasonable. He will return to do more tree trimming in the future read more

It has been a couple of years, but qw contacted them to come out and recommend any maintenance on our multiple trees. They promptly came out and sent me what they would recommend. The price was great, and they were on time to come out and complete the work. They pruned and trimmed the trees and meticulously cleaned up after themselves. We was extremely happy with what they did. We am getting ready to have them come back out for some additional work around the house read more

Randall and his crew are wonderful. So knowledgeable and professional. We had a lot of bushes to be trimmed and it was very well done. CPasahow read more

I am not happy with this company. I feel like I was baited and switched. They came to my house and quoted $450 to plant 2 pecan trees I purchased and had on site and later tried to upcharge it to well over $1000 after he neglected to bring the jackhammer I told him he would need and after he found out I was doctor. Let me clarify this- I told him BEFORE the quote that there was bedrock in my back yard that needed a jackhammer and he said he would bring the right equipment. The guy came back the next day. I had to go to work so I told him to send me pictures. He told me he planted the first tree "shallow" and that was when I found out HE DIDN'T BRING A JACKHAMMER, and just planted my 12 foot tall tree into the rock. I asked him why he would plant it so shallow when he told me they dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. He said it would be 'a little bit more cost' since they also ran into rock in the 2nd hole as well. I was expecting they would try to charge $225 for having to 'replant' the first tree (which would not have been the case if they had the equipment they claimed to have). I had to be at work the next day as well and had them send me pictures since the had the jackhammer now, hours go by and they send me a picture where they dug 3 feet into the rock, instead of trying a different area close by which would have made sense. I attached the picture he sent me- to dig that long in the same spot is INSANE. I told him to leave the jackhammer and I'll dig the hole myself when I get home from work. I dug a narrow deep 'tester' hole 2 & 1/2 feet away and there was great dirt there. I dug the same size hole there myself- plenty of dirt and sparse rocks. It took me 2 hours to dig the hole and jackhammer the bedrock sections out. I found out- after they left- that they broke the strawberry tower in my garden and didn't tell me, they tucked the broken pieces to the side of my raised garden bed. I told them to take the stakes from the older previously planted trees in my yard near the fence and instead they ripped out the ones supporting my garden's drip irrigation system and strawberries. They also cleaned the dirt from their hands or equipment in a tall bucket that I was collecting rain water in for my rain barrel in my garden. I shouldn't have to explain to not do that and they literally had my garden hose right there. Oh! And they compacted a 3 foot radius of dirt on my grass instead of putting the dirt into a wheel barrel or even in the huge nursery plastic pots I had out in the open. I had to go out and scrape the clumps of dirt and rock off of my nice well cared for grass. At one point he said he never had anyone so picky about their trees- I said I'm going by WHAT YOU TOLD ME YOU DO. You said you dig the hole twice the size of the root ball (which they didn't at first) and put in 3 stakes (which they only did 2 at first)! You asked me to provide the soil- why would you expect me to want rocky dirt put back in the hole when I bought enough dirt for both of the trees? Why would you try to put only 2 stakes on a 12 foot tall tree in TEXAS knowing the storms we get here? Were they just cutting corners? This is basic stuff. When he said he would have to charge me "over $1000", I did a double take. This is so unethical. He said he knew he "underquoted" me to begin with. I guess I fell for the old bait and switch. I'm not sure if this common in the tree industry, but don't have them plant trees for you. Maybe they are good at trimming. Next time, I'm just going to do it all myself like I did with my other small trees and rose bushes. What a waste to pay them $900 for me to plant my own tree. This may have been what a professional tree planting company would have charged me- which is fine, I think it is so shady to secure the job with a low quote, then not bring equipment so you can more than double charge for labor to dig for hours 3 feet down into solid rock. Do yourself a favor and just rent a jackhammer and plant your own tree. It's actually not that hard if you use common sense. They appear to do a good job with tree trimming, but after what they did here, I'll be going elsewhere for that. This was so bad it's almost funny. I'm curious if the guys that came to my house are the owners. This was so unreal, and this company has 160 reviews with 5 stars. How? Their google reviews are unfortunately from a long time ago and look fake in hindsight. read more

Had to find a new Tree Trimming company since my old time one went out of business. Called HCTT and Roland came out and gave me a bid. He is a kind and professional young man and all by himself did a great job on our 33 year old Arizona Ash trees. I highly recommend him. Jack. read more

Roland and his team did a great job for me on two occasions now. I would have home come again! He even caught a problem w one of my trees. So grateful! read more

We have used HCTT twice with excellent results. They are super responsive and know their stuff too. They have trimmed trees expertly and removed unwanted surface roots from two trees in our front yard. Roland (owner) is a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend this business. read more

Outstanding service, speed and quality - the price may seem high but you will not regret it. Highly recommended.

Friendly crew who executed well but the most expensive and slowest tree trimming job in my experience. For a larger job, I would start by getting more quotes but would hire them again. I had a delicate operation, where I needed to clear a tree away from a chimney for repairs. Initially priced $750 but they ended up doing it for $600 if I wanted to get started right away. I went with them because the reviews made them sound competent and they were immediately available. Convinced myself to pay more because of the complexity of the job. Small crew. Took a few hours for the one tree. They used ropes well to catch large branches and my house was left unscathed, which was my main concern. The cuts were clean and the oak tree looks great. The team cleaned up well. read more

It would be a mistake NOT to hire this company. I reached out on a Sunday and, to my surprise, received a call the very same day to schedule an estimate appointment. From the onset, it was evident that Rudy has a heap of knowledge and expertise. He listened, really listened, and made suggestions not to pad the company's pocket but to truly meet my needs. This consultative approach is the secret to keeping clients extremely satisfied and appreciated by me. Once the work began, Roland (the owner) showed up to manage the project. You know that when the owner involves himself/herself in the actual work you can be assured that they care about doing the job right. Speaking of which, I can't be happier with the service they provided. They trimmed some significant pieces of two large oak tress in a way that not only eliminated branches too close to my roof (the goal) but the final aesthetics are incredible looking (the bonus). To them, tree trimming is an art and their talent is unequivocal! Additionally, they walked me through another project involving the re-purposing of two large flower beds and were patient with my litany of questions. They're consummate professionals. In short, you can't go wrong with Hill Country. They're efficient, consultative, skilled, experienced, competitively priced and, most importantly, caring. I've got a few more landscaping projects to tackle this year and I will not hesitate to ring Roland and the gang. read more

These guys recently trimmed my trees, and they did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves. Actually, they cleaned up more than that. I had some dead wood and leaves in my yard, and when they raked up the little branches from the trees, they took all that too! Roland came out to give me an estimate, and they got the work done the same day. Roland and his crew were all polite and pleasant. I had to go into my yard several times to take out my puppy, and they greeted him and me. There was a stray branch that had been caught in a tree and later fell. I texted Roland, and they came out to pick it up the next day. In summary, they do good work, they're nice guys, and they obviously take pride in their work. 100% recommend. read more

Rolando was very prompt, responsive, reasonable, and professional. His crew was also top notch, super fast, and clean. The whole process was very smooth, pleasant, and quick. They had to maneuver around our neighbors yards, cleaned everything up before the end of their work day and left the yard looking better than before. We are so happy we found them and I highly recommend them! read more

Truly GENUINE and honest tree trimming business. We desperately needed 3 trees trimmed as our yard service has not been able to accommodate us. We called Roland and he was at our house shortly. He gave us a fair quote. We had two out-of-control trees which made the front yard look unkept even though we have a yard service. A tree in the back yard was hanging over our neighbors fence and looked unmanageable. Roland and team worked to trim, clean, and remove the branches of 3 trees. He has the type of business acumen needed and knows the types of trees and the growing patterns. We will consider Hill Country Tree Trimming our regular tree trimming company moving forward. Thank you Roland and team. The after look has given our front and back yard a nice makeover and clean feel. We are extremely pleased with the service but more impressed with their professional and genuine business practice. Stay gold! Did not ask us for a review. read more

Wow!!! This team was outstanding. Very friendly and professional. I started with asking for a dead tree removal and ended up with a backyard facelift! I had no idea where to start with changing my landscaping in my pool area but Rudy gave me suggestions that I trusted and his recommendations turned out wonderful. They showed up on time and did an amazing job! Highly recommend and I will use them again! read more

HCTT removed our neighbors tree the day before and did such an amazing fast professional job that we decided to do ours the very next day. Our tree was dead from worms and last years frost. They far exceeded our expectations. We will used them in the future and will recommend them to all of our friends and neighbors. Roland and his team were very knowledgable about tree care and very professional and very nice people. They were prompt for the quote and the service, prior to that they were quick to respond to our emails. Now to the actual work. They did an amazing job both with the work and the cleanup and the post work discussion. The key to tree trimming is doing it right so the tree is healthy (knowledge) and also doing it where the trees look awesome (artistic). Anybody can cut a tree but it takes unique talent to get it right. They properly sealed the oak tree cuts and cleared out the dead branches, they provided enough clearing so we can get enough light to the grass and off the house but also left it looking beautiful with the shaping of the trees. Pricing was very reasonable for the quality of the job. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Thank you to Roland and his team. read more

First time using a professional tree trimming service, and didn't really know what to expect. Pretty happy with my experience. Contacted Hill Country Tree Trimming last night, and the crew arrived early this morning. Totally unexpected promptness. Crew were extremely cordial. I have used Hill Country for several years now for anything from tree trimming, to fixing my side garden, to putting up a new fence, to just recently today they fixed the brickwork in the garden beds along my front walkway and planted new bushes and plants after snowmageddon killed everything. As always they did an amazing job. They explained the quote and pricing up front, walked through all the work they would do and materials they would need, they were on time as always. The quality of the bushes and plants they got for us looks excellent. All in all I will absolutely continue to use Hill County and recommend everyone else do the same. read more

I called them yesterday to get a quote and they came today to look at the trees. The quote was reasonable and they said they could come today and were here an hour later. This is in regards to the reply given by Hill Country Tree Trimming for the review I left previously. To answer the question about the other bids and why I didn't hire them... I did. As you said, they didn't show up. Which is why I contacted Hill Country Tree Trimming. I didn't bother to show you the other bids because I didn't think it was necessary to get a fair quote. I figured that you would provide a competitive quote without me having to try and negotiate the price right out of the gate. After our experience with Hill Country Tree Trimming, we contacted JW Tree & Land Service. They came out the very next day to give a quote. Once he arrived, I went over all of the things that needed to be done. We agreed on the price and he had his crew come straight over the same day. JW Tree & Land Service removed all of the hackberry trees, plus stumps, trimmed the two large trees in the backyard, and shaped up the large crepe myrtle tree off to the side of the house, trimmed all bushes away from the house, removed some dead holly bushes that were along the front and sides of the property, as well as a live holly bush that was over 10 ft tall from the corner of our home, and removed a large bush that had overgrown the secondary gate off to the other side of our garage. Total price? $950. So not only did they beat the quote given by Hill Country Tree Trimming, they actually did it AND completed a lot more work. Funny how they were able to do it for a fair price without me having to show proof of other company's bids. And while you may feel otherwise, this review is a VERY accurate representation of OUR experience with Hill Country Tree Trimming. Hopefully, that was thorough enough of a review for you. read more

Roland and his crew are phenomenal! I researched 3 service providers, all of whom had good reviews on Yelp, to make sure that I had done my due diligence for such a big job. I needed to have several stumps removed as well as a medium sized pecan tree that had incurred significant damage from a lightning strike, a monster shrub that was overtaking a side of the house, several saplings that were likely the result of birds dropping seeds, trimming back all of the oaks and trimming back the canopy over the roof, and lastly, the removal of lots of holly bushes and overgrowth along the fence line. Easily an all day job in the neighborhood of four figures when all was said and done. My grandma always said that closed mouths don't get fed and let me tell you, Hill Country Tree Trimming definitely prepared for a feast! Left message for the first service provider and didn't get a reply back until 3 days AFTER the job was completed. Second service provider responded back within 2 hours of leaving a message. A very nice receptionist took my info and scheduled an onsite estimate appointment for the next morning. She then called later that afternoon to say that she realized there was a scheduling conflict and asked if I could reschedule for the following morning. I was perfectly okay with this since I was not working with any time constraints per se. The third call was the charm. Roland returned my call within minutes. We scheduled the onsite visit for the next morning. He and a partner arrived 30 minutes early. We walked my property, he made recommendations in addition to the items on my list, and thoroughly answered all of my questions. I let him know that I still had 2 more estimates to get through and would let him know my decision within a few days. I had a rough idea of where the costs would likely end up for the scope of work I needed done. That said, Roland made an offer I couldn't refuse - if he could get started today, he'd get his crew to the house within 20 minutes, complete the entire job the same day and give a me a small discount if I would say yes. Best impulse buy I've ever made! It looked like it was going to rain all morning and I was worried for their safety, but Roland assured me that they could manage. And they did more than manage. Fortunately, no rain, and they delivered as promised. My yard looks wonderful and has me ready to start planting for spring! Thank you, Hill Country Tree Trimming, I'm a lifetime customer now! read more

Called Roland yesterday and discussed my needs. He came over today for a quote, said he could trim up what I needed (clean up the roof area and some low-hanging branches), and said there was no reason to prune or do other maintenance because they were already in good shape. I cannot express how AMAZING Rudy and Roland at Hill Country Tree Trimming are! Rudy came out in the morning to give me a quote and was right back out that afternoon to get it all done. As promised in my last review I used Hill Country Tree Trimming again. I called Roland and had him come out to tame my tree-filled yard again this year. I needed 4 trees removed - 3 small ones and one HUGE one (30 inches across the trunk and probably 70 feet high). They removed these trees, trimmed all the others away from the roof, raised the canopy, and did health and maintenance care for every tree on my lot. They left the yard in much better shape than they found it, including collecting all the fallen leaves and general cleanup, and the whole job - for almost 50 trees including the 4 removals - was done between 9am and 3:30 pm. Again, great service, great price, great company, and great people. As long as Hill Country Tree Trimming is in business, I'm a customer. read more

Very courteous, professional and honest. They contacted me back when I needed them to. They came out and gave a quote when they said they would. They did a great job and cleaned up everything and did it very quickly. This is really one of those no brainers, I would recommend them to anyone. read more

All my husband and I could say was "WOW" when they were finished. The front of our house looks incredible...better then we envisioned. We needed our 2 oak trees cut and trimmed desperately along with 2 fern trees that were blocking our front entrance door. My wife was working in the yard when Roland and his crew drove up. They were awaiting the late arrival of a client nearby to gain access to property and had time available. They asked if we needed any work on our trees so she called me to talk about having HCTT perform some removals we'd discussed previously. I was suspicious at first. After she researched online viewing ratings and other user-generated content she and I agreed to employ Roland's team to attack 4 undesirable & ugly nuisance trees in our yard. Within a couple of hours they were down, processed and hauled away at a reasonable cost that was much less than expected. The team worked hard to dig around the base of each tree to cut the stumps as low as possible so that additional stump removal wouldn't be necessary. We're very grateful that Roland Salinas' Hill Country Tree Trimming team was in the neighborhood that day. Thanks HCTT for making this project much easier and more cost effective than expected. read more

tl;dr - These guys are great! They do quick work! So if the summary didn't do it for you, read on. This company came out on Saturday and gave me a quote after surveying the property.
