Aaron and the team are absolute legends. I've been working with them on my back yard for about a year now off and on on projects big and small. He's always quick to respond, enthusiastic about the projects, and takes a real pride in his work and making sure things are done in a way that will last. We did a complete backyard overhaul and transformed it from a bare mud pit to a backyard oasis that we now love spending time in now: new sod on half the hard, paver patio and crushed granite on the other half, limestone retaining wall and mulch bed on the back wall, drainage, and irrigation through out. We had an old and non functioning irrigation system that we inherited from the previous owners and rather than just ripping it up and charging us for a new one, Aaron spent hours servicing and getting it to work, and then customized it to work with the new yard layout. We also had some freak of nature downpour of rain pretty soon after the big project was complete, which washed away some of the granite and caused the patio to settle with some dips. Aaron came back and fixed it all and added in additional drainage to keep it from happening again. Aaron is my guy forever now - extremely fair on pricing, honest, full of integrity, thorough, and just an all around nice guy. You won't be disappointed if you choose to work with him. read more

Aaron and his team completed beautiful work for our condo building with a mix of hardy native plants and beautiful rock hardscapes, providing a reasonable price across our many bids. The photos show how much the selected plants grew in just one season between spring and winter, while still retaining a beautiful look in the colder months without full blooms. The team also fixed our irrigation system and provided additional drainage with a French drain. The team was on schedule and super communicative. After the job completed, Aaron has always been incredibly willing to share advice for landscaping situations that we've encountered since the original installation. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! TLDR; Aaron is the best person I have ever worked with in Austin (and I've done 3 large scale projects with three different, highly recommended, companies in Austin in the last 6 years). I priced out three different new landscaping companies (besides the other three I had previously used and didn't care for for various reasons) and Aaron was quick to respond to my inquiry, prompt for all meetings and correspondence and brought amazing, collaborative, beautiful ideas to the table. I came in with a good idea of what I wanted but he helped steer me toward what would work best for our home and aesthetic but was incredibly responsive and flexible if I pushed hard in one direction. He came back very soon with a beautiful digital rendering of the work to be done, and was incredibly helpful when I needed to push our timeline back and break up the work a bit. He showed up every day of the project early and got right to work meticulously working on our yard with his awesome team. The level of detail, measurements, materials and design eye that he approached the project with were so evident. Numerous neighbors walked by all week and would comment during and now, after, at their awe to his attention to detail even evident from their "walk by's". Communicative throughout the whole process, the work is BEAUTIFUL. I am so proud of my house and to see my idea come to life with Aaron's help and design guidance. This review is long overdue for Aaron & Austin Yard Barber. We hired them earlier this year to build a deck in our backyard and it was a great experience from start to finish. As a new and neurotic homeowner I was indecisive and had a ton of questions. Aaron took the time to prepare and send me various designs for the project. He was patient as I went back and forward on the size and location of the deck and worked with my budget. It was a 7-10 day job with the excavation, and I am no expert, but I could tell they were very thorough and exact in their work which I appreciated. The project was worth every penny.
