We had Darwin and his crew mulch the backyard and it worked wonderfully! It's helped immensely with the rain and mud. He also took down a dead tree and repaired our fence gate. Darwin and his crew from Hernandez Landscaping are the best! I called him last Friday, June 20th to take a look at my horrible flower bed. The roots of 4 large bushes, 3 small tree roots, a large truck load of ugly lava rocks, and invasive ground cover vines needed to be completely removed in order for me to later plant some nice native, drought tolerant plants. He was at my house the next Monday. His crew removed all bushes and tree roots, rocks, and vine roots and left a beautifully cleared up bed. While he worked on that I mentioned that I had another flower bed on the side of my house that also needed the same work. He quoted me a very reasonable price and I got 2 lovely cleared beds ready for me to plant. They were so sweet and friendly and hardworking, I gave each of them a tip because they were incredibly fast. My husband and I were so exhausted just working on one flower bed that took us months to clear up and they did 2 beds in just a couple of hours. He complianed about the long drive he took to my house, even though i gave my address days before. He complained about the traffic getting here. customer service is awful. Very rigid and inflexible. At 7:30pm last night, I called Hernandez Landscaping based on all the great reviews. Darwin answered the phone and listened to my request to put mulch down in a particularly ugly part of my backyard that has been decimated by the heat and lack of water. I asked him to complete this task before my son's birthday party...which is tomorrow at 4pm. Darwin said he would do his best to help and suggested using river rocks instead of mulch, which looks way better in the particular spot and has the added advantage of not smelling bad. He charged a fair price, arrived here at noon (so 17 hours after I called him), looked at the job, went to get the materials and was done by 3pm. And it looks fantastic.
