I contacted Emerald multiple times requesting a re-treatment on May 12 and May 13, but despite repeated promises, no one ever came to perform the service. It is extremely frustrating and disappointing when a company fails to honor its commitments to customers. I used Emerald for several years with satisfactory results. Approximately 2 years ago one of their technicians applied the wrong chemical to my front yard and destroyed it. Emerald was initially very up front and helpful, even going so far as to re-sod a portion of my front yard. I requested that they take soil sample to analyze before re-sodding, but they didn't... and the sod never took. They continued to work with me over many months providing discounted visits. However, the yard/soil was completely destroyed and has never recovered despite my paying for additional services such as aeration and top dressing. To add insult to injury they continue to send techs weekly to service my yard even though I have spoken to their office by phone, supervisors at my residence, and several techs that the service has been cancelled. I agreed to a clearly defined service plan: $63/month for general weed treatment and $36 for flower beds, totaling $99. I made multiple attempts over the course of the week to resolve this: *I called on March 24 and was told I needed to speak with Paul (the sales rep who signed me up) to address the issue. They stated he would call me the following day, never happened. *I followed up again on March 26 and received no update. *I called again on March 27 and was told I would receive an email confirming cancellation--this never happened. I also requested to speak with a manager multiple times and never received a callback. The most concerning part is the lack of transparency and follow-through. Over the past year or so, though, the consistency has declined. Recently I've received text notifications saying a technician is on the way, but then no one actually shows up. I don't prepay, so I'm not being charged for services that aren't happening, but it's still frustrating and confusing when you expect someone and they never arrive. I canceled my service after my liquid aeration appointment was canceled for at least the third time. The reasons kept changing. One cancellation was because the driver got sick. Another was because they didn't have the equipment. Another was because the truck wasn't working. What bothered me the most was how late these cancellations came. More than once, I was notified just minutes before the scheduled arrival time, after I had already planned my day around the appointment. I was willing to give them multiple chances, but after three cancellations I decided it wasn't worth continuing. Do not hire Emerald Lawns. We hired Emerald Lawns to install Christmas lights. The service was originally scheduled on 10/5, with an agreed completion date of 11/12. Instead, they showed up seven separate times, each visit ending with a new excuse for why they could not complete the install. Either they did not have a tall enough ladder or they did not bring the lights with them. When I called customer service, I was repeatedly told that the technicians "always bring lights," which directly contradicted what the technicians themselves were telling me on site. Out of all those attempts, I received only one confirmation that a technician was on the way, and it was not even on a day they had previously scheduled. The lights were finally installed on 11/26, two full weeks past the agreed deadline. The very next day, I noticed that some of the lights were not working at all and the entire right side of the house had fallen down. I contacted them again for a repair, and it took almost two more weeks for anyone to come out. Now it's 1/16, and they still have not returned to take the lights down. Missed deadlines, repeated excuses, no communication, poor installation, and unresolved follow-through. Absolutely do not recommend. read more

That was on a Monday, then fertilized it again on Wednesday I assume by mistake. And to top it off they billed me for the additional service. The technicians seem to be great guys, but the billing and office team seem to have issues (I'm trying to be polite). I am now trying to figure out if my lawn is going to be ruined by the 2nd application of liquid fertilizer within 48 hours........ Canceling should be simple, yet it turned into repeated requests, being passed from one person to another, and no one willing or able to provide written confirmation that my account had actually been canceled or that I wouldn't be billed for services I didn't authorize. Even after contacting the owner, I was told they couldn't help and that I needed to call someone else. As a customer, that's not an acceptable experience. If an owner can't ensure a straightforward cancellation is handled, something is wrong with the company's customer service process. A business should make canceling just as easy as signing up. Until Emerald Lawns improves how it treats customers who choose to end service, I cannot recommend them. We signed up for pest and lawn service in August and things were going ok, although communication with the company was sparse at best. We noticed our lawn becoming overgrown with weeds, worse than ever before. When looking at my records, we noticed that the last service performed was 4/30. I contacted the company on 6/18 and the customer service rep was not able to tell me why service stopped but was "escalating the situation" and I should hear from someone. On 6/22 I had still not heard from anyone. I called the local office several times and selected option 2 for "all other reasons" but no one ever answered. I eventually selected option 1 for "new or adding services" and was able to speak to someone. The rep again could not identify the reason why no one had been to my property for service. He connected me with the the Branch Manager Collin who also could not determine why we had not received services. He then offered to send someone out, but that did not make up for the all of the services that were missed or the condition of my yard. When I requested to cancel my account he cheerfully agreed and did not offer any other resolution. I requested a refund of the payments that were provided without receiving service and he stated the finance department would determine the amount and I will receive it in 2-4 weeks. Customer service with this company is nonexistent. I am really disappointed in the service and the fact that my lawn is so much worse than when we started with them. They missed providing paid for services but they sure did not miss taking a payment. read more

I have been dealing with this issue for nearly a month and I am not getting anywhere with them. Do not use this company they make charges that are not approved by the customer. My case: After having paid for a full year's service on 1/17/2026, I have since been charged the same amount TWICE again, despite their not having authorization to automatically charge my credit card. The supervisor who said on 6/3/26 that he would fix the problem has completely ghosted me, and my card was charged AGAIN today. I already opened a cc dispute for the second charge, and suppose I will have to do the same for the third one. We've used Emerald Lawns for over six years. Initially they were great, but over the last year their service has become atrocious. Most recently we called to get a spot treatment for the massive number of weeds in our yard (despite the fact that we're paying for their quarterly treatment). Our next service was about to be due, so they came and did that and supposedly spot treated for weeds. After a few days, there was no sign that the weeds were dying, so I checked our cameras to watch how thoroughly they spot treated. I watched as the tech only sprayed right near their truck, ignoring the weeds throughout the yard. After seeing this, I called asking for someone else to come out, but I was told "no", since they just spot treated. I explained that I had proof they didn't spot treated the weeds, but they didn't care. I then said I wanted to cancel, and was transferred to someone in their cancellation department. He literally didn't try at all to remedy the problem, and was happy to cancel us immediately. I told him I was shocked at his lack of effort for retaining g a good client, and he said, he would cancel too if he was getting the poor service we were getting. Don't hire this company. Several weeks into spring without any sign of several large areas of grass that are showing no signs of recovery. We have been with Emerald for over two years and unfortunately have found that there service and performance is not what we expected. Product is not addressing the lawn needs as weeds are still growing after multiple spraying and applying pre-emergent. Missing appointments and it very difficult to even get in touch with someone not to mention ability to see what services have been provided over past months. I called my sales rep, I called the office, I went through the support ticket on the website. Nothing. When I called in to cancel then they promised things would be better. Too late. The cancellation process and getting my credit card removed from their required autopay system was a pain as well. There are a multitude of other companies out there offering better service. UPDATE: I did finally receive my refund ----- I do not think this is a legitimate business. They used to be great. I hadn't been a customer for a couple of years. I responded to an email offer this February, and paid for a year to get a discount. I called the next day to get an account number so I could get an app and track my scheduling. They had no record of me, other than my closed account. The money posted to my bank account. Since 2/24/26, I have been in direct daily communication with an individual at Emerald Lawns. He has been forwarding first my request to obtain an account number so I could reactivate my account online, and subsequently for a full refund since I have had absolutely NO response from anyone else at Emerald Lawns. This is theft! What the heck is going on? I want my money back, and NOTHING more to do with this company. I wish I had first checked reviews. I simply had gone on their prior reputation. Was happy with the first service we received. After that, not so much. Emerald Lawns is pay-as-you-go, though you get to pre-select the services they'll be providing over the calendar year. After their third visit to our home, we noticed via the invoice we later received that we had been charged for a service we did not inititially agree to. I called their office multiple times over the course of November/December to initiate a refund of these expenses. Every time, I was met with a "I'll elevate this to my manager" response with little-to-no urgency. I would call after a couple weeks - checking on the refund - and receive the nearly same response each time...as if the issue hadn't been elevated already. I finally got in touch with someone helpful, and she let me know that the finances/refunds were handled by an outside company. She gave me their direct e-mail to reach out to for updates. When I later called to ultimately cancel all future services, the gentleman I spoke to didn't seem to be all that concerned they were losing a customer, so I guess I'm not going to be too concerned about giving them a 1 star review. read more

I did not want my credit card on file, and they said "no problem". Then.....I kept getting emails and phone calls stating that they could not bill because my credit card was invalid. My credit card, which was not supposed to be on file in the first place, had expired and I received a new one. Emerald Lawns kept trying to bill me for something that I already paid in full. I had to explain this at least 5 times to different people. Every one of these people knew nothing about my prior concerns. I finally asked for a refund for the remaining of the year......and now.......crickets, no replies. If these are not shady people, then the incompetency level is insane. Unauthorized $700 credit card charge & major service decline I've been with Emerald for 8 years, but my experience over the last two years has gone sharply downhill since the company was sold. At the end of December, I received two different prepay quotes for the upcoming year, both reflecting nearly a 20% increase. I was previously told their increase was only 6%, so I did not agree to renew services or authorize any charges. I simply asked for clarification regarding the discrepancy in my quotes. I called five times over the past week for clarification. My calls rang indefinitely with no answer. Last Friday, the only way I could reach anyone was through the new customer line and was told they were having phone issues, and was told my message would be passed along. No one followed up. Despite this, Emerald charged my credit card $700 today without my consent. All prior balances were paid in full. I did speak with someone this evening after the charge, who said they would "look into it," but as of now there has been no reversal. Charging a customer without authorization, providing different quotes without clarification and being unreachable beforehand is unacceptable. The rep said that it is at the finance department and in process. I asked how long it would take....he didn't know. He called the finance team...they said it is in process. I asked if I can talk to the finance team...an eerie long silence . At the end of conversation, he said he marked this case high priority and his manager would look into it. Well, as you well know, still no refund. Guess I call them back again next week and start this process over again. If you are considering this company for your lawn service, don't. Not only issues with their refunds of payments but their service. I gave them a follow up call to find out when they were coming to start which should have been 2 weeks before according to my sale rep. They said they had me set up for an ant treatment not the weed service? They told me that was included in my annual fee and they would come back in another week to treat the weeds. A month after they treated for weeds and we had more weeds than before? i reached back out to them and no calls back? I tried to get a hold of my sales rep and no calls back, no follow ups. First of all rep signed us up with a briarcliff address when we stated our address as austin. I could not establish my login portal and was being told by rep it was a glitch and wait over weekend. Then when you call main no sometimes someone responds but on hold for at least 10-20 min. I hit a no for callback and never get it. Never got second application yet they debited me before application. I cancelled with them and am told it takes 3-5 days before refund. I cancelled on March 19. Today is March 23. No refund yet. I will open a case with Texas attorney general because these people are not forthright and always a different person answering phone. read more

I had an arborist come out and not only did Emerald kill two trees, our remaining 3 are one grow season from dying.
