Have been using them for years they were bought out by another management company or investor company whatever you wanna call it last year but the employees on site are still the same ones that I've been dealing with for the last six years so if they weren't any good they would've replaced them with the new company that is 20 times larger than they are. After receiving mosquito treatment service on April 15, 2026, our yard continued to be overwhelmed with mosquitoes, making it nearly impossible to enjoy being outside. I contacted Emerald multiple times requesting a re-treatment on May 12 and May 13, but despite repeated promises, no one ever came to perform the service. It is extremely frustrating and disappointing when a company fails to honor its commitments to customers. I feel that Emerald has completely neglected its responsibility to provide the level of service it promised. Because of this poor experience and lack of follow-through, I have decided to cancel the service and share my dissatisfaction publicly through customer reviews of Emerald Mosquito Control Service. I used Emerald for several years with satisfactory results. Approximately 2 years ago one of their technicians applied the wrong chemical to my front yard and destroyed it. Emerald was initially very up front and helpful, even going so far as to re-sod a portion of my front yard. I requested that they take soil sample to analyze before re-sodding, but they didn't... and the sod never took. They continued to work with me over many months providing discounted visits. However, the yard/soil was completely destroyed and has never recovered despite my paying for additional services such as aeration and top dressing. To add insult to injury they continue to send techs weekly to service my yard even though I have spoken to their office by phone, supervisors at my residence, and several techs that the service has been cancelled. I additionally left a message on their customer portal which apparently is never checked. read more

I had a very frustrating experience with Emerald Lawn Services and would not recommend them based on my experience. I agreed to a clearly defined service plan: $63/month for general weed treatment and $36 for flower beds, totaling $99. However, I was later billed inconsistent amounts, including $68 and $79 charges that were never explained or authorized. I made multiple attempts over the course of the week to resolve this: *I called on March 24 and was told I needed to speak with Paul (the sales rep who signed me up) to address the issue. They stated he would call me the following day, never happened. *I followed up again on March 26 and received no update. *I called again on March 27 and was told I would receive an email confirming cancellation--this never happened. I also requested to speak with a manager multiple times and never received a callback. The most concerning part is the lack of transparency and follow-through. Despite clearly disputing the charges and requesting cancellation, billing continued and no one took ownership of resolving the issue. On top of that, the actual service has been ineffective. Despite being treated by this company, I still have a significant amount of weeds growing, which raises serious concerns about the quality and value of what I was paying for. If you decide to use this company, I strongly recommend getting everything in writing and closely monitoring your billing. read more

I had two beatiful trees in my backyard for over 25 years, notice that I say HAD, suddenfly one started to kinda turn, so I contracted Esmeral Lawns. They told ( "The Arborist" )me to "send pictures of the leaves", they said dont worry it will totally be taken care of it. They came and they treated all my backyard every 3 months like the contract estipulated, well,........... the tree died then a plum tree died then my fig trees died and last but no least my second big tree started to turn. Called back and once again the "arborist ask for pictures, so I did and for may surprise he told me "You're giving too much love....... He never showed up to check in person. So I fired the Company. We've used Emerald Lawns since moving into our home in 2020. When we first started service, everything was great and we saw noticeable improvement in our lawn. Over the past year or so, though, the consistency has declined. Recently I've received text notifications saying a technician is on the way, but then no one actually shows up. I don't prepay, so I'm not being charged for services that aren't happening, but it's still frustrating and confusing when you expect someone and they never arrive. The treatments themselves do seem to work- our yard still looks better than many of our neighbors' but the inconsistency with scheduling and follow-through feels like it's starting to impact the overall results. I'm hoping they can get back to the level of reliability we experienced when we first started using them. read more

Do not hire Emerald Lawns. We hired Emerald Lawns to install Christmas lights. The service was originally scheduled on 10/5, with an agreed completion date of 11/12. Instead, they showed up seven separate times, each visit ending with a new excuse for why they could not complete the install. Either they did not have a tall enough ladder or they did not bring the lights with them. When I called customer service, I was repeatedly told that the technicians "always bring lights," which directly contradicted what the technicians themselves were telling me on site. Out of all those attempts, I received only one confirmation that a technician was on the way, and it was not even on a day they had previously scheduled. The lights were finally installed on 11/26, two full weeks past the agreed deadline. The very next day, I noticed that some of the lights were not working at all and the entire right side of the house had fallen down. I contacted them again for a repair, and it took almost two more weeks for anyone to come out. Now it's 1/16, and they still have not returned to take the lights down. Missed deadlines, repeated excuses, no communication, poor installation, and unresolved follow-through. Absolutely do not recommend. read more

This company has gotten too big to be effective. I've used them for numerous services for more than two years, and recently they came to apply a fungus treatment. When finished, my yard, which I'd worked so hard to develop, was covered with white blotches. So I called immediately, sent photos of the damage, and was told I'd hear back in 24-48 hours. Crickets. A week later, I called again and was told by the rep that he'd contacted the supervisor in charge of my case, and that I'd "definitely" hear back the next day. Crickets. I called a third time a few days later to cancel my service. No one here seems to truly care about the customer. Before this, I'd gotten a service I believed I was overcharged for (the service cost more than $600) and contacted them. When I finally received a return call, the supervisor was clearly eating lunch while on the phone. When I told him I believed I'd been quoted a different price, he said "Well, you'll have to send me that text message." I said, "Don't you have that message there?" He paused and said, "I don't have your account pulled up." The guy couldn't even bother to review my account before calling. Honestly, stay away from this business. Their customer service is abysmal. And if you do call, expect to wait on the line for a good while, not just to connect with a live agent but to reconnect when they put you on hold after hearing your concern. read more

Man, what a bummer. I've used Emerald for 3 years now after purchasing my first home and really wanting to maintain my yard from the get-go, and they helped me do exactly that wonderfully...until this past month. I received a notification that someone had serviced my property, which I thought was odd seeing as I work from home, saw no one come and didn't receive the customary knock at the door or follow-up email after service. I waited the next day to see if it was a mistake, but sure enough the charge of $100+ showed up on my card. I checked my security cameras that view all around my house for that day: nope, no one showed up at all. That leads to me calling the customer service line, ensuring I'm polite and respectful as they have been with me for the past 3 years. I'm told I'll be hearing back from a manager. That didn't happen. A week later, I reach out again and I'm told a manager did call me. I go through my call logs: Nope, didn't happen. I ask that a hold be put on my account indefinitely until a manager talks to me. They tell me they can only put a hold on till the end of the month. So be it. Still no one reaches out, so I call back a third time and while still remaining calm but firm, I ask directly for a refund, which they assure me will happen. It's been 5 weeks, no refund. As it turns out, I call back my final time and am told that my refund has been cancelled because they have GPS tracking of someone being at my house during the time I saw no one in-person or on my security cameras. So while I still believe they're completely wrong, they never reached out to tell me their side or to provide proof, they simply swept the refund under the rug and took the hold off my account...without telling me. Therefore, I cancelled my services outright and will work through my credit card to get my rightful refund. Little bit of a pattern here from Emerald Lawns: charging me for nothing, would've done nothing had I not called them out for it, they respond with nothing and their refunds are, as you might have guessed: nothing. I've had numerous opportunities to lay into this company and really let them have it for taking a week's worth of groceries out of me and my family's mouth for nothing, but I see here on Yelp that doesn't lead to anything either. I had no idea they had racked up all of these negative reviews in the past year, but boy do they deserve them. This company is a shell of itself and I urge anyone looking for something, really anything, in the way of good service (or service at all) to look elsewhere. read more

Dont use them. They promised me to come back out for two weeks and they keep putting me off. Meanwhile the weeks keep growing thicker and larger. The account manager Warren asked me why I was canceling, then he got rude with me and accused me of over talking him. He told me we were on the phone for 3:26 seconds and I was talking for over 2 minutes of the time and over talking him. He said this to me 3 times. Then he puts me on a silent hold because his computer is running slow and tells me dont hang up or that will stop the cancellation process. I've now been on a silent hold for over 14 minutes and still on hold. read more

Emerald Lawns - This only a small part of the weeds - Tree Services Near Me - Round Rock, Texas

I canceled my service after my liquid aeration appointment was canceled for at least the third time. The reasons kept changing. One cancellation was because the driver got sick. Another was because they didn't have the equipment. Another was because the truck wasn't working. What bothered me the most was how late these cancellations came. More than once, I was notified just minutes before the scheduled arrival time, after I had already planned my day around the appointment. I was willing to give them multiple chances, but after three cancellations I decided it wasn't worth continuing. I can't review the quality of their work because they never actually performed the service. I can only review my experience getting an appointment, and based on that experience, I wouldn't use them again. read more

When I first started with Emerald lawns I gave them a 5 star review, but after I have had their service for over a year things have changed. They charged my credit card $102 for a service I did not request. I had to fight them to get them to agree they would give me a refund and now they say they will only give me a credit. When I told them to pause my service until we get this resolved, they came out again and fertilized the lawn a week later. That was on a Monday, then fertilized it again on Wednesday I assume by mistake. And to top it off they billed me for the additional service. The technicians seem to be great guys, but the billing and office team seem to have issues (I'm trying to be polite). I am now trying to figure out if my lawn is going to be ruined by the 2nd application of liquid fertilizer within 48 hours........ I would suggest thinking twice before contracting with them. read more

Emerald Lawns kept my yard clean. The Technician was very knowledgeable. The Company lost my business with a non responsive customer service and a failed billing modernization. I dont trust the company. read more

(1 Star) I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Emerald Lawns has been incredibly frustrating. The lawn service itself wasn't the issue, the cancellation process was. Canceling should be simple, yet it turned into repeated requests, being passed from one person to another, and no one willing or able to provide written confirmation that my account had actually been canceled or that I wouldn't be billed for services I didn't authorize. Even after contacting the owner, I was told they couldn't help and that I needed to call someone else. As a customer, that's not an acceptable experience. If an owner can't ensure a straightforward cancellation is handled, something is wrong with the company's customer service process. A business should make canceling just as easy as signing up. Until Emerald Lawns improves how it treats customers who choose to end service, I cannot recommend them. There are plenty of lawn care companies that value their customers enough to make a simple cancellation hassle-free. read more

We signed up for pest and lawn service in August and things were going ok, although communication with the company was sparse at best. We noticed our lawn becoming overgrown with weeds, worse than ever before. When looking at my records, we noticed that the last service performed was 4/30. I contacted the company on 6/18 and the customer service rep was not able to tell me why service stopped but was "escalating the situation" and I should hear from someone. On 6/22 I had still not heard from anyone. I called the local office several times and selected option 2 for "all other reasons" but no one ever answered. I eventually selected option 1 for "new or adding services" and was able to speak to someone. The rep again could not identify the reason why no one had been to my property for service. He connected me with the the Branch Manager Collin who also could not determine why we had not received services. He then offered to send someone out, but that did not make up for the all of the services that were missed or the condition of my yard. When I requested to cancel my account he cheerfully agreed and did not offer any other resolution. I requested a refund of the payments that were provided without receiving service and he stated the finance department would determine the amount and I will receive it in 2-4 weeks. Customer service with this company is nonexistent. I am really disappointed in the service and the fact that my lawn is so much worse than when we started with them. They missed providing paid for services but they sure did not miss taking a payment. read more

I stuck with Emerald Lawns, Round Rock, Texas, for eleven years during which time they did some bad things to my yard. One that comes to mind was I had them put out top soil, after their visit I noticed small rocks had been spread all over my yard. When I visited with them about it, they implied it was not their fault and that I was stupid. I spoke with another employee regarding this and they too stuck to the story. Later, one of the employees shared with me that this had happened to others, apparently the sifter wasn't working. The camel that broke the camels back was this past May. I had new sod put in our front yard, notifying Emerald that they were not to do anything to it as instructed to us by the outfit who put in the sod Came home one day to find them spraying stuff on it. They could have ruined my $2,000.00 new sod had I not stopped them asap. Also,I ask they not keep my credit card on file, they ignored that and quickly charged me $75.00. I ask for a refund of that since they had messed up, they said they would and also to close my account. Well this all took place in May 2026, I have yet to received my refund. Linda Carter read more

If you enjoy being on hold forever only to speak with someone who has zero authority to help you, this is your company. * The Service: After a full year, my backyard has more weeds than when I started. A $12 bottle of pesticide from the hardware store outperforms their entire "professional" crew. * The Runaround: Their phone system frequently hangs up, and their calls are often flagged as scams, which is fitting. Customer service reps are just "request takers" who can't actually resolve issues. They just send notes into the void between disconnected departments, never to be heard from again. If the void finally does yell back you'll have to explain yourself over and over and over and over and over and over... and zero progress will ever be made. * The Bottom Line: They are lightning-fast if you want to spend more money, but invisible if you need a refund or a fix that should come with your plan. Save your money and your sanity. Don't roll the dice here. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH EMERALD LAWNS!!! The company was sold to Senske Corp. in June 2023. Read their reviews. This company is now so horribly mismanaged that it should be investigated by the Texas Attorney General for fraudulent and deceptive practices. My case: After having paid for a full year's service on 1/17/2026, I have since been charged the same amount TWICE again, despite their not having authorization to automatically charge my credit card. The supervisor who said on 6/3/26 that he would fix the problem has completely ghosted me, and my card was charged AGAIN today. I already opened a cc dispute for the second charge, and suppose I will have to do the same for the third one. Given the magnitude of the customer service issues I'm having with them, I can only imagine how many other people are having similar problems! read more

We have been with Emerald for over two years and unfortunately have found that there service and performance is not what we expected. Product is not addressing the lawn needs as weeds are still growing after multiple spraying and applying pre-emergent. Missing appointments and it very difficult to even get in touch with someone not to mention ability to see what services have been provided over past months. Not sure what the issues are, but unless they can get them resolved myself and my neighbors are going to have to look for another company. Emerald had a good name don't ruin it! read more

We've used Emerald Lawns for over six years. Initially they were great, but over the last year their service has become atrocious. Most recently we called to get a spot treatment for the massive number of weeds in our yard (despite the fact that we're paying for their quarterly treatment). Our next service was about to be due, so they came and did that and supposedly spot treated for weeds. After a few days, there was no sign that the weeds were dying, so I checked our cameras to watch how thoroughly they spot treated. I watched as the tech only sprayed right near their truck, ignoring the weeds throughout the yard. After seeing this, I called asking for someone else to come out, but I was told "no", since they just spot treated. I explained that I had proof they didn't spot treated the weeds, but they didn't care. I then said I wanted to cancel, and was transferred to someone in their cancellation department. He literally didn't try at all to remedy the problem, and was happy to cancel us immediately. I told him I was shocked at his lack of effort for retaining g a good client, and he said, he would cancel too if he was getting the poor service we were getting. Don't hire this company. Look at the reviews over the past two years. They are not the company they used to be, and could care less about the quality of their work. read more

UPDATE: I did finally receive my refund ----- I do not think this is a legitimate business. They used to be great. I hadn't been a customer for a couple of years. I responded to an email offer this February, and paid for a year to get a discount. I called the next day to get an account number so I could get an app and track my scheduling. They had no record of me, other than my closed account. The money posted to my bank account. Since 2/24/26, I have been in direct daily communication with an individual at Emerald Lawns. He has been forwarding first my request to obtain an account number so I could reactivate my account online, and subsequently for a full refund since I have had absolutely NO response from anyone else at Emerald Lawns. This is theft! What the heck is going on? I want my money back, and NOTHING more to do with this company. I wish I had first checked reviews. I simply had gone on their prior reputation. Apparently, I am just one of many holding their breath, hoping for something, anything. I do not understand why the solicitous emails when they are incapable of handling customers. This was a good company before they were purchased--likely by private equity. Now, it is not only an ineffective service, but their business practices come dangerously close to illegal. Only thing they do well is take your money. DO NOT use these guys unless you're interested in throwing your money away. Was happy with the first service we received. After that, not so much. Emerald Lawns is pay-as-you-go, though you get to pre-select the services they'll be providing over the calendar year. After their third visit to our home, we noticed via the invoice we later received that we had been charged for a service we did not inititially agree to. I called their office multiple times over the course of November/December to initiate a refund of these expenses. Every time, I was met with a "I'll elevate this to my manager" response with little-to-no urgency. I would call after a couple weeks - checking on the refund - and receive the nearly same response each time...as if the issue hadn't been elevated already. I finally got in touch with someone helpful, and she let me know that the finances/refunds were handled by an outside company. She gave me their direct e-mail to reach out to for updates. When I later called to ultimately cancel all future services, the gentleman I spoke to didn't seem to be all that concerned they were losing a customer, so I guess I'm not going to be too concerned about giving them a 1 star review. read more

Unauthorized $700 credit card charge & major service decline I've been with Emerald for 8 years, but my experience over the last two years has gone sharply downhill since the company was sold. At the end of December, I received two different prepay quotes for the upcoming year, both reflecting nearly a 20% increase. I was previously told their increase was only 6%, so I did not agree to renew services or authorize any charges. I simply asked for clarification regarding the discrepancy in my quotes. I called five times over the past week for clarification. My calls rang indefinitely with no answer. Last Friday, the only way I could reach anyone was through the new customer line and was told they were having phone issues, and was told my message would be passed along. No one followed up. Despite this, Emerald charged my credit card $700 today without my consent. All prior balances were paid in full. I did speak with someone this evening after the charge, who said they would "look into it," but as of now there has been no reversal. Charging a customer without authorization, providing different quotes without clarification and being unreachable beforehand is unacceptable. This experience has completely eroded my trust in the company. read more

This company is horrible !!! RED FLAG! Run!!!! They sold the company to some larger group ands it's terribly unfortunate. This business will fold eventually. They are charging for services not ordered then they will take forever to credit about (4-8 weeks) according to them. They'll blame it on your bank when in reality it's their incompetence, laziness & neglect that holds up the credit. They obviously have cash flow problems which explains why they aren't crediting my money in a timely manner. They need it! I cancelled my services after being a loyal customer for 3 years. The manager could not have cared less thatI was cancelling. They charged my card $609 for a year's worth of service which I didn't approve or order. They can't seem to figure out how that happened. read more

Absolutely stay away from this company!!!!! I am having the same troubles as Chris G in these reviews. Asked for refund of my $650 yearly payment two weeks ago. Waited with no refund. Called and called over the past week to ask where my refund was. My calls were with no answer. On Tuesday 27th, I got finally through and asked where my refund was, now being over two weeks. The rep said that it is at the finance department and in process. I asked how long it would take....he didn't know. He called the finance team...they said it is in process. I asked if I can talk to the finance team...an eerie long silence . At the end of conversation, he said he marked this case high priority and his manager would look into it. Well, as you well know, still no refund. Guess I call them back again next week and start this process over again. If you are considering this company for your lawn service, don't. Not only issues with their refunds of payments but their service. It has gone down hill the last couple years (12 years with Emerald Lawns) and this year they said the tech came out and did service but never showed up. This happened twice in the year.
