We came out to Verrado this morning to hike the steps and had intention on stopping for coffee somewhere nearby. With the wind and such we decided to look for breakfast nearby in hopes it would die down while we ate. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Haymaker nearby. It apparently opened about a week ago. You'd never know it because they honestly had it all pretty dialed in. For a late breakfast on a Thursday it was pretty busy. We chose to sit at the bar. We were greeted quickly and our drink orders taken. We both opted for a coffee of course and waters. They brought over some creamer and a little vanilla syrup as they don't have packets. They use four leaf coffee and the flavor was great. Not acidic and hot. We decided on the All American and Cowboy breakfasts. Mine with bacon and his sausage. We also ordered a side of biscuits and gravy. Which ended up being the highlight of our meal. I try biscuits and gravy every time we go to breakfast and leave typically disappointed. The only flavor consistent seams tp be flour. Biscuits over cooked. Awful.....not at Haymaker though. The biscuit was huge, fluffy and light and the gravy full of flavor and didn't deal heavy and dry. I'd come back just for that. So dang good.. service was the only thing keeping today's visit from being five stars for me. It wasn't horrible, but sitting at the side of the bar seemed to be their dead zone. It was hard to get their attention and a few times we had to wait for quite a bit to get a coffee refill etc. Lviv's is cozy and I loved that they had so many windows. It was bright and made it feel larger. I'd definitely come back. read more

My meal was decent, fried chicken sam with buffalo sauce. Didn't really notice the buffalo sauce so seems like the upcharge isn't necessary. Fried pickles with 1000 island were really good and I'm typically a chip over spear person. My wife had eggs benny and wouldn't recommend that. Between the poached eggs and the plateful of Hollandaise sauce it looks more like a breakfast soup. She ordered over hard eggs instead of poached but the order was messed up and she had to just push the eggs aside (she doesn't eat runny eggs). First time visiting this Haymaker location. Service was very good it's a new buildout so ambiance was simple and clean. As far as food I was a bit disappointed The zucchini was bland until I added a little salt and was sitting in a pool of oil. The $16 burger was fair. Just tried out the Haymakers in Verrado last night with the wife. We tied the bloddy Mary drink which seemed a little salty for my wifes tastes but had a nice kick. I tried and old fashion which was not bad and the beer was cold. I eat gluten free and the had buns and bread as options which was nice. Love the location surprised it was not jam packed. read more

Friendly staff and love the atmosphere and decor. Ordered a California Omelette. Barely a pinch of cheese and very few bacon crumbles. Also the tiniest bit of avocado on top. The hash-browns had funny taste and definitely not cooked with butter. Toast is a single slice cut in half with barely noticeable butter on it. At $16.50 for the plate, I would most likely not come back. I realize they have a captive client base being based in Verrado and running a restaurant is expensive these days but please throw a handful of cheese and lots of bacon on the omelette and two slices of toast please with decent amount of butter. read more

My wife and I have been back several times since my first post. For the most part, the food has been OK. The staff are always super friendly and nice. Never seems like they are shortstaffed, although it has been into the slower season. Last week, my wife ordered a chicken Caesar. She ordered one about a month ago and wasn't a fan of the over seasoned, on the salty side room temperature chicken. Brittany told her that the next time she orders that salad to ask them to make the chicken fresh. She placed her order and told Melissa to have the chicken prepared fresh, but it didn't come out that way. Again we love the staff, but overall the food is just OK. It's not anything to rave about. Of course we haven't had everything on the menu, but we've had plenty of items to know that sometimes things are Too salty or not the right temperature not enough sauce or too much breading for examples. read more

Visited Haymakers on a weekday around 11am. There was a bit of a crowd, but nothing too busy, and I was seated quickly. Service was fairly fast, and my order came out correct and served hot, which I really appreciated. One thing to note -- the wait staff didn't offer drink refills, which would've made the experience even better. Overall, though, it was a good visit. Parking Warning: The parking situation isn't great. The lot is small, it was tough to find a spot, and it's shared with several other businesses, so be prepared for a bit of a struggle. All in all, solid experience with good food -- just plan ahead for parking! read more

The restaurant has great potential, as the menu has a great variety of food options. The people are friendly and professional. The issue I have experienced on several occasions with this location in Verrado and Litchfield Road is the greasy taste, similar to old oil. We truly need decent restaurants in our area and hopefully they can improve their quality of taste. I'll give it another try in a couple weeks and we'll see if changes were made. read more

Verrado's Haymaker opened up about a week or so ago. We had as I call it LINNER between lunch and dinner. Staff were sort of friendly, it's a pretty small place comparative to the one in Goodyear. I enjoy a place that has friendly staffers and ones who takes their time with the customers. We had the fish and chips which were great flavor and fries were great. Our friend had meatloaf and broccoli which was in his opinion ..ok. The broccoli had no sauce or flavor so he asked for butter and when the waitress came back with hard cold butter it would not melt on the broccoli also he said the meatloaf was ok. That being said I think we will try again in a month or so to see how they are doing. read more

I've been taking the family on Sundays here since they opened. The service is always a good experience. The menu and the breakfast has been good until recently in the past month or so it has been spotty on same dishes that had months ago. Not sure a new cook or what the issue is. Today I ordered the Huevos Benedicto. It came out surprisingly quick which baffled me on why was the hash browns, chorizo and English muffin not hot and just warm. It almost like it was previously made and served later. I'll take a break from there and check them out later or for lunch. We went their for breakfast/lunch today at about 10:45am. It was pretty slow inside. Three different servers saw us. We stood at the front waiting to be seated. We were never once acknowledged with a "we will be right with you." We ended up walking out and going to a different restaurant. My wife ordered the fish & chips and I had the grilled chicken with onions rings. Before ordering we wanted to make sure the fish & chips weren't being served really greasy. The server said oh no that it wasn't greasy. Well... she was right, it wasn't greasy, it needed an oil change. It was dripping oil like crazy. The server just gave a ho hum sorry. My food was just ok, nothing great. What really got me was when we got the bill, no compensation for the super greasy fish. When the bill came, we paid cash. Then the server asked if we wanted cash back...when we gave her two twenty's and the return change was ten dollars. NO WAY we were leaving a $10.00 tip for a mediocre lunch and service. Notice to servers...never ask if the customer wants cash back! Not ethical at all. The dining area was clean, but not going back. This was the 3rd time we've eaten there. Service is terrible. The restaurant isn't busy but the servers and managers spend their time chatting with each other or a few guests. Food has gone downhill, like all the way down hill. The chicken sandwich which used to be crave-able is was so salty it was inedible. Food also didn't come out as ordered. Had to go to the hostess to get silverware. We sent food back. Yummy! Have been there in two occasions for Sunday Brunch and both times had very good service and great food. Started out both times with the Cinnamon Roll. Just got one to share the first time but got two on the second visit. Too good to share. Large pancakes and the omelets made up our meals both times. Stopped in there last night after leaving the fall festival. Had all my kids and grands kids with us, food was awful they couldn't even make a BLT , they put crumbs of bacon on it and they weren't fresh crumbs either there soda was flat or syrup tasting . I can't believe this place carries the same name as the one on Litchfield rd. That place has great food . This one in Verrado not good at all. Everyone's plate was a fail. Very sad I wanna support the local restaurants but not with this demonstration we had last night . Wedge salad was terrible, wings were salty , kids burger was hard and dry chicken tenders were old .
