We had a pretty big job done by Hawkins. From the very start John and Jeff were great. We changed our minds multiple times (this was our first big landscape project). Jeff and John never made us feel rushed or we only had so much time with them. They transformed our yard into something amazing. WE LOVE IT! We had a large spa, BBQ island, fire area and multiple patios. The only thing we do not love and wish we would have done different is the concrete. It splits and the color is not what we hoped. We would do pavers and gravel more next time. This is not Hawkins fault, just personal preference. The reason you should consider Hawkins is that John stands behind his work. You will find cheaper and the projects we did on the side...we cannot get a hold of the workers. I would not hesitate to use Hawkins again or recommend to friends. The prices were fair, but what separates this company is the costumer service and John standing behind his work. Jeff is a wonderful artist and cannot wait for the next project (the wine room).... We began our project to build a pool at the beginning of 2019. Hawkins was the only company willing to take our project (our site is a hillside). They were very thorough in analyzing the site and creating the best design for our property. We decided not to pursue the project in 2019 even after we signed the contract. Hawkins never pushed us to start in 2019, they accepted our decision. Once construction started in 2020, they were always in touch, keeping us abreast of the schedule or any changes. It so happened that we had several home improvement projects that all ended up overlapping this spring, but the crew worked well with the other contractors and built us a beautiful pool that we will enjoy for years to come. Hawkins designed and installed an amazing backyard kitchen/BBQ and 600sf pool house. We are very pleased with the end result! The sub contractors they used did great quality workmanship, especially the carpenters and the tile. Their pricing was fair, not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. Good thing no cheap- cheap thing no good! We had a few bumps in the road,(what project doesn't?) but John, the owner, was always quick to respond and work with us to resolve the issues to our satisfaction. Gus is my go-to guy, he's been helping me out with all my equipment (he's done my installations) to get a better understanding on how it works and when something's wrong he's there to fix the problem and explains what the problem is! We met with Hawkins after interviewing several pool companies. Immediately we knew top notch after meeting John Rose, the owner. Not only did he present his company as being a full service provider ( cradle to grave - pool, pavilion, bbq, fitpit, softscape and hardscape) but the fact that they are also general contractors gave you a sense that everything will be done to code, with best of quality. We just completed a total backyard remodel that included a pool with a hot tub, pavers and an outdoor kitchen with Hawkins and are extremely happy with it. Recommendations from people we know that used Hawkins, 2. Value - we got more pool and higher quality components for about the same price and 3. My pool and spa have been serviced by HAWKINS for over a decade. I have a weekly service which includes all filter baskets, pool/spa bottom, surface, and chemical balance. No matter how messy the pool gets from leaves or other debris during the week, it will be clean and clear as crystal after my service. Over the past 10 years there have been mechanical/electrical repairs needed, and some of the failures have occurred on a day when I had planned to have a summer pool party that afternoon. A call to Brent the service manager and my worries were over. Brent would either have one of his excellent service techs (Gus) handle the problem, or Brent would come repair it himself. I have never, ever had to call HAWKINS Pools more than once to get a issue resolved. Friendly, professional staff, and reliable and great service! Horrible experience with this company. Avoid at all costs. Called on a Friday, it took them until Monday to call back and they didn't bother to leave a voicemail. So had to call them again, took yet another day to finally get a person to call me back. Their bid was by far the highest cost wise but these assured me it was worth it for the 3 year warranty. We booked to do an install the next day, they said 8am-10am would be the window, and they would call early morning to let me know for sure. I called them when I didn't hear from them, voicemail again. It wasn't until the window passed, called again, finally got a person, they said the person would soon be there, yeah right, at that point I told them cancel the job. If all that extra money was for a 3 year warranty it would be worthless as they don't answer or respond like a 5 star company, I got less than 1 star service and wish I could give them 0 stars. read more
