The polish job itself was sloppier than a DIY, with unevenness and bubbles here and there. The cuticle situation was the real drag, though. It looked like the cuticles weren't even trimmed! She just didn't clean them well. I suppose I could tell during the process, but the reality was even worse than it seemed it would be. It feels gross paying $57 for a mani-pedi (the job itself is $50, I paid 7 extra for gel removal). I wish I'd stayed home and done it myself. read more

Front desk staff was friendly and they accommodate my walk-in manicure. The service itself was very poor. The technician barely removed any cuticles leaving a lot of peeled skin, she put oil in my hands and didn't ask me to go wash them, so then she couldn't even hold my fingers. I came here once before and gave it 5 stars, but after my experience last night my view has completely changed! I'm not sure if I just had a bad nail technician, but the service I received last night was terrible and certainly not worth the premium price. When I arrived, the receptionist told me to pick out my color for toes and the gel polish for my manicure. I started looking through the gel samples when the nail tech came up suddenly and started taking the samples without saying anything. I stood there dumbfounded and dropped the sample I was holding as she was staring at me expecting me to give it to her. All this time she didn't say anything, it was confusing and very rude! She wasn't smiling or showing any sign of friendliness. She then told me to pick out my toe polish instead. As I sat down for my pedicure she told me then I could look at the gel samples. It was obvious now that she was trying to rush and didn't want to waste time with me picking a color. The pedicure was rushed and she barely used the skin scraper. Then for the gel manicure I swear she used the least amount of polish possible. The layer of polish was so thin that it appeared as if the bottle was empty and she scraping out the last bits. The sample showed a light/medium pink with sparkles. While I understand it will be lighter on my nails, it didn't even compare to the sample. Even with two coats the color was still so light you and you can still see the white tip of my nails showing through. I'm disappointed to say the least and would not recommend going here, it's not worth the money! read more

I also love going to Haven because everyone is so friendly and attentive. I am very particular about my nails and I loved that she was so dedicated in making sure I loved my nail shape and polish color/quality. My manicure was gorgeous (I got a ton of compliments!) and it stayed perfect for over a week and a half, despite doing work that typically chips away at my polish. The only thing that tops the quality of Haven's nail service is their atmosphere. The salon has adorable decor and fun boho chic vibes. I decided to treat myself to a mani/pedi before my first day of work and found Haven on yelp. I had an easy time making an appointment and arrived at the spacious/airy spot. I was warmly welcomed and offered a beverage. I was shown the different brands of nail polish and was told a little bit about them, which was great because I wasn't familiar with these particular brands. I was then treated to a lovely, precise mani/pedi by Alyssa, who was extremely, warm, welcoming and funny. She took great care with the prep as well as the polish and it looks great! All the staff were very kind and made me feel relaxed and comfortable. Even though it is a schlep from my apartment, I will definitely be back!! Love having Haven in the neighborhood! I have been there multiple times, and each time am very pleased with everything. The ladies are incredibly friendly, the decor is so chic and modern, online booking is simple and easy, keeping the nail file each time is a bonus, and a glass of wine with a pedicure is the best. My pedicure lasted weeks beyond my trip to Lake Powell without chipping, and my gel manicures last about 2 weeks with no chips. I had a mixed experience at Haven. First of all, I was super excited about this visit. This place is absolutely adorable inside. I usually just go to a quick in-and-out place for nails, nothing fancy. I really wanted to treat myself to a nice afternoon of getting pampered, so I chose this place. I was the only one there, so it was nice and quiet... other than the hammering. In my opinion, the middle of the day when you are open for business in a spa/salon atmosphere is not the appropriate time to hang new art. The hammering was very loud and disturbing, and really interrupted a nice experience. My nail tech was nice and did a good job, however, I am not a fan of the colors I got. I asked for the popular "party nail" with one nail on the hand a different color than the rest. She kindly painted the two colors I chose on my nails as a test, and convinced me to change out one of the colors out for another brand. She tested the new color which I liked, but not alongside the other color I chose. After leaving and seeing them in different light, etc, the two colors clash horribly. I called back and apologetically asked if there was anything they could do to fix it. They said for 20$, they could change out the colors. I had already spent over 100$ getting a mani-pedi, and was not interested in dropping another 20$ to change the color. I realize the color was my decision, but I ended up just not being happy with the two colors together the nail tech suggested. At the end of the day, I've never been to a spa or salon who did not want their customers to leave 100% happy with their experience-- especially when paying these prices. It seemed the same as getting a bad haircut and being asked to pay again to get it fixed. I wasn't pleased with the customer service I received, and was disappointed they didn't try harder to make customers happy. read more

Going to give this place 3 stars. It is really nice and clean and conveniently located in RiNo. The positives are the gorgeous design of the place and that everyone was nice and accommodating. The negatives are 1) no massaging chairs for pedicure, 2) not a spa pedi (no jet tubs) and 3) no Essie or Opi nail polish - it is a random Brand Jessica something which I have never heard of and kind made me assume was chosen based on price. Also, I have lots of Essie/Opi colors I know and know what they will look like so using a random brand and choosing based on what they look like in the bottle was not ideal. That said I really liked Roxy who did my pedi and will come back again, especially if polish does not chip quickly. read more

If you are particular about who does your nails I recommend calling to book an appointment. Not a big deal. Was told last appointment they have a standard polish that should last at least a week. Made sure to request that polish at this appointment and that's where it went wrong. Don't believe it...2-days later and lots of chipping, very disappointed. If I had not been told it would last, I would have been what I'd usually expect. But I was assured it would last and my expectations were set too high. $30 and 2-days of "light use" later looks like crap. So bummed. read more

I just finished with my first visit to Haven. This place is absolutely wonderful. Finally a place where the staff aren't in a hurry and where they ask you if you prefer your cuticles to be cut or pushed back (I am a pushed back sort of gal. I don't like the risk of getting cut). It's so nice to have the option. Roxanne did a great job with my pedicure. I got the City pedicure for $34. She was thorough and treated me and my feet with care. The file she used on my heels actually smoothed out my heels and didn't leave rough places on the bottom of my feet. The salon itself is super relaxing. I seriously could have fallen asleep. It is cozy, super clean, does not smell like chemicals and they play good music. They also take everything out of sterile packaging and send you home with the file they use on your nails. My toes look great and for $34, I will absolutely be going back. read more

The survey you fill out before your manicure is awesome because I didn't have to warn the technician to not cut my cuticles, or how I like my nails filed. I chose to try out this nail salon simply because my other nail salon was booked up and because of the short proximity to where I live. Unfortunately, I greatly regret making that decision. I should've known going here was a bad idea from the start because I had to call multiple times yesterday before someone even answered the phone to make and appointment. That being said, I did make an appointment for the morning when I thought they would be less busy (which turned out to be correct) and I even arrived 5 mins early. When I walked in, there was no one at the front desk but I could see 2 people in the back who clearly saw me but did not come to the front for about 3 mins to greet me. Then the nail tech who did my nails came out while talking on her cell phone and told me to have a seat. So as I sat at the desk getting my gel polished removed, I tried sparking a little conversation but the nail tech seemed very uninterested, not to mention she had dirt and who knows what else under her own fingernails! Working at a nail salon your staff should be clean and friendly. I was also very disappointed because when she was removing my cuticles she cut me and acted like she didn't. She didn't even apologize when you could clearly see the blood! When it came time to choose my color, she acted annoyed because she didn't think they had it and had to look 2 extra seconds. Sure enough, they had it! Before she applied my color I asked for a design on 2, yes ONLY 2 of my nails and she said she didn't have time as her next client was coming. I was shocked because I made an appointment and was on time and am a paying costumer, yet you don't have time! BEST NAIL EXPERIENCE EVER! If I could give more than 5 stars I absolutely WOULD! I am so beyond pleased with my experience at Haven yesterday. I have lived in the Denver area for a few years and have bounced around from nail salon to nail salon, unable to find a place that I can call home. Every single aspect of this salon, and my experience, were perfect - it is safe to say that I will ABSOLUTELY be returning to Haven! First of all, you can book online. This is INCREDIBLE. Here are all the reasons I will be returning: easy parking in a safe neighborhood (cool new bar next door too!), greeted immediately when I walked through the door (asked if I would like anything to drink. I got water and later found out they have wine, beer, cocktails!!! Such a great touch), adorable décor (I'm talking straight off Pinterest..cutest salon I have ever seen), cute items for sale (I bought the most adorable bag for my mom for a gift) they had candles, jewelry and other trinkets (I could have bought the whole store..), color selection was out of this world. I think they had a few hundred colors, which made it so hard to chose. I could literally go on forever about this place. My nail tech, Alyssa, was absolutely phenomenal. She is extremely personable and nice, we chatted the whole time (I feel like I left with a new friend- Hi Alyssa if you read this!), her attention to detail was great. My nails are toes are PERFECT. I will absolutely be requesting for Alyssa to do my nails every time I go! I can't believe the salon is only 7 weeks old, they have got this in the bag, this salon is going to do great!! read more

I work downtown and have been looking for a nail salon I like for awhile. I finally found it. This place is really lovely. I loved, loved that I was offered a glass of wine when I got there. My mani/pedi was great and I loved all the modern colors they had available. So many nail salons have an assembly-line feel, and I'm always stumped where to take my out of town friends for a spa-like pedicure without the high cost associated with a full service spa. At the 2 week mark and this mani is still going strong! The technician who did my nails was very meticulous about making sure that the shellac wasn't touching the skin around my fingernails. After a few more visits I have had to update my original review. The nail technicians are nice and it's a clean salon, but I won't be going back here. The gel polish can chip after 2-3 days if the technician doesn't apply extra to the tips and put on a good layer of clear coat. Also, they are always running late for appointments. I have had to wait up to 15 minutes after my appointment start time, which isn't a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but is annoying when you have a list of errands to do that day. During my last visit the technician didn't let the get soak enough and scraped the heck out of my nails. I have had to leave them short for over two months so that they will grow back out strong again. Finally, I was told that I won a gift certificate during their one year anniversary drawing. Nice little surprise. When I went to pick it up during my next appointment they didn't know where the manager had put the gift certificates. No big deal. I left them my mailing address. After a month I remembered that I hadn't received the gift certificate and wrote them an email. Someone replied and said that there was a mix up and it would be in the mail. Almost a month later and I still don't have it. At this point I could care less about the gift certificate. It's about the principle of it and about customer service. If you say you're going to mail it, then follow through and mail it. If you lost it and there is nothing to send to me anymore, then just say so. What was supposed to be a nice little surprise for their customer has turned into a customer service hassle for me. Too bad, this place has potential. read more
