After looking at my boyfriends poor hands the review is going down. Totally tore up his hands pretty bad, didn't clean under or around them and left them cut up. Mine were okay. The polish doesn't fully cover the nail and has gaps in odd places where you can tell the polish was far too old. The ladies were nice but the service wasn't worth the $80 each. After many horrendous experiences at different nail places in Denver I FINALLY stumbled upon a place I like, AA Nails. The staff is made up of about 4 girls in their 20s and one guy. They are real sweethearts and won't chat your ear off. The place is very clean and has a flat screen for watching TV. All the magazines are up to date and are the good juicy ones like US and Cosmo. They work quickly and in a professional manner for a good rate. $10 mani/ $22 pedi. read more

I just went to have my nails painted with gel polish and the lady did a pretty bad job getting it all around my fingers and a little mound of polish built up at my cuticle. I asked her to clean the dried gel polish off my skin, and she did a very poor job (meaning she left polish on my skin) and then left me sitting there (as she had deemed we were done) and started working on another lady's manicure. I then asked a different lady to please clean up the gel polish mounds and finish cleaning it off my skin, but she also left uneven edges. I then left, and returned within 20minutes asking if they could please clean up the unevenly painted gel polish mound edges. The original lady who did my nails said I didn't pay for a manicure so the clean up wasn't included, and I had to reiterate that all I wanted is the uneven polish mounds cleaned up. She then proceeds to electric file the polish mounds, and makes them look worse then before by creating new bald spots and more uneven edges. She asked how they looked and I let her know that my thumb now has a bald spot where the paint should be. Her fix was to start trying to cut my cuticles with clippers that she had pulled out of her drawer that weren't sterilized, when I told her to stop as the clippers weren't clean she then proceed to drop them back in the drawer and shut it without trying to clean them. I then left with crappy looking gel polished nails. read more

You know what really grinds my gears? When I pay $12 for a manicure and immediately go home and redo it. I had just left a wonderful massage and was feeling happy and relaxed. I walked in with a cheerful smile. I just wanted a fresh look and to pay a professional to clean my hands up a little. I asked for short, straight shape with rounded edges, cut cuticles, and clear polish. Sounds simple, right? She showed me a nail after she had cut and filed it and I asked for shorter but still straight. She went rounder. I clarified. She went rounder... no straight to be salvaged. I have round nails. No biggie. Moving on. I spaced out and relaxed while she cut my cuticles and put on clear polish. Before she finished with the catastrophe that was a simple clear polish job, I asked if she would do a design on two of my fingers. I must have brain damage, obviously. I asked for a simple gold diagonal swipe at the tip with a thin black line between the gold and the clear. She did OK... until she put clear polish over the design... while it was still wet... and of course smudged it. I kindly asked her to redo it. She did. And then she smudged it again, didn't seem to care, and proceeded to charge me an extra $5. I asked her to just remove it since I would be removing it when I got home and didn't intend to pay for something she failed to do twice. After looking a little closer I noticed she didn't even remove the old clear polish I had been picking off for weeks before I got there. Jagged edges, polish on my skin, it's a mess. I'm kinda steamed at this point and just want the insanity to end so I paid and got outta there. Now I'm home giving myself a manicure wishing I had the massage AFTER the manicure. Hmph. read more

My gel polish fell off within 6 days on one toenail. Went back in and they re-did that one for me, and then 2 different ones fell off 2 days later. Don't see any point in going back a second time because they will likely just keep falling off. I don't know if they did too many coats or what, but this has never happened in my life. I love this little salon, it's really down to earth. I've been going there for several years now. The ladies are all so nice and are actually interested in you. It's a comfortable place and has been there for many years. Often clients and technicians will all talk and laugh together. All you have to do is bring up a topic and people jump right in. Need a quick mani/pedi two ladies will work on you and then you're off and running. Their pedicure chairs are great, for an small extra fee you can have a longer leg and foot massage. They have great prices too! As for comments about loud music - never have I heard loud music in there. There was one young gal in there for a very short time and yes she wasn't good. Otherwise all the ladies are older. You'll find great service and bad service at any salon. Take all the one stars with a grain of salt. Finding a place where I can be comfortable and relax is very important to me. That this place is the closest nail salon to my house and is incredibly affordable seals the deal. Despite the random times I pop in, I've never had to wait more than 3-5 minutes while they cleared a station. They are incredibly clean and professional. The ladies in my wedding party got our nails done here and we had a great time. The pedicure chairs have several different massage settings. My mom wasn't a fan of the extreme lower back massaging (read butt massaging) but that was as hilarious as it was embarrassing. Oh how I wish I could give this place NO STARS! Lets get started with everything wrong here... Its dirty and cold. I was always afraid I was gonna get an infection and guess what I did! Some nice green puss popped out of my nail and I had to go to the docs to get on antibiotics. The staff is rude, and cold. Lastly, I came in for a shellac mani and regular pedi, 2 eyebrow waxes (one for my mom) and not only was it already super expensive, but the idiot girl (Jennifer) double charged me. On top of being rude, doing a half ass job on me, she double charged my card 71.04 twice. When I came in and showed her my online banking, she claimed it was just pending and it would go away and online banking wasn't proof. I had to go through my bank and dispute the charge, get a new card and go through that long, frustrating process. Save your money and don't come here. EVER! I went with my sisters-in-law on Saturday afternoon. There wasn't much wait time, which was nice, but the employees barely talked to us. I just got a pedicure, and the other two got mani/pedis. My pedicure was not only very short, but the bottoms of my feet were not smoothed at all. It was like he was just going through the motions. My nails looked okay, but when I got home I noticed some polish on the skin around my toenails. No biggie, but annoying. The other girls got manicures, and both of them had A LOT of polish on the skin around their fingernails. This morning when I got out of the shower, I noticed that two of my toenails had already chipped, and on one of my little toes, a whole HALF of the polish had come off. I came here last week because I broke a nail. Mid fixing, I decided to just ask for a complete rebase and pedicure. $$ right? By the time they asked me to pay, what was supposed to only be 34$ turned into 42!, I asked why, they said there was a charge to fix the nail, (any other place I've ever been to has never charged extra for a broken nail, when paying for a rebase).. But whatever, I let it slide. I came back today to get another rebase, and the price states 14$, and (again, any time I've ever been to a nail salon and got a rebase, I get nails shortened at no charge).. come to find out when it's time to pay, I owe $17. They charged me $3 to shorten my nails, and didn't even tell me before hand that there would be a charge. I hate how they nickle and dime you for every damn thing. How often does one get a rebase without cutting the nail a little? RIDICULOUS! Just for a little more - I was planning on getting a french tip, but they charge $5, (not that big of a deal) but I saw that they also charge $5+ for airbrush designs. I asked which designs are $5... their response? "the french tip".. so what exactly is the difference between a regular $5 french tip and a $5 airbrush french tip?? I would think the $5 regular french tip requires more work than spray some white paint on the tip of my nail.. Needless to say, this is another nail salon I will not come back to anymore. With all the bad reviews I was reluctant to give this place a try, but I'm glad I did. It's the closest nail salon to where I live - a 3 minute walk - and since breaking my arm I am still unable to drive. I hadn't had a pedicure since breaking my arm and my feet were a mess. The woman who took care of me did a really great job and my feet/toes look beautiful! She was very friendly without being overly chatty, so I was able to relax and enjoy the wonderful massage she gave me. Actually, everyone was friendly there. It is a very basic pedicure, so if you want something a little more deluxe this is probably not the place for you. It could have been cleaner and there were no magazines to read, but overall I really enjoyed the experience. I will definitely go back. read more

The job she did was sub par and with a hundred other nail shops in town, there is no reason to return to one I had a poor experience at. AA Nails: $32 is a good price for a Mani/Pedi. I have been here multiple times and 3 out of 4 times I have been pleased with the quailty. Is the business super clean? No. I wish they would clean the counter tops, chairs and do more than a surface clean. AA, take a moment to deep clean the place, it would do wonders!! Do the techinicans talk to each other in Vietenism pretty much the whole time, yes. I had Kim do my nails, and she was really nice, did a good job, and I will only ask for her going forward. AA Nails works in a system that they swap and switch technicians to meet demand. I don't want to pay $50 for a Mani/Pedi, so I don't expect much more than this. read more
