Yvett, the dental hygienist, was kind and thorough, taking extra time with exams and X-rays to ensure nothing was missed. While she was very focused on the cleaning and did not chat much, she made sure that my troubled dental spots were very well taken care of. Avoid this place like the plague.*** anyone leaving a good review is getting a gift card from them to do so. I have gone there for years and years and have never missed one appointment and honestly, the dentist isn't that great I always have to go back to get my bite fixed but they have had an awesome front desk (older lady with white hair LOVED her) and hygienists. They have turned over their staff and their current front desk is so incredibly rude she's only been there 2 months I believe her name is Cheryl (She wouldn't even tell me her first name). First off, they have given me the wrong prices about three times, my son had an appointment and they canceled it for staffing reasons (after I had pulled him out of school) so I had to reschedule and wait 2 months to get a time after school so he didn't have to miss again. Somewhere along the line, they said "I" turned off not to receive text messages so they called me to confirm my appointment (apparently 4 times in a day who does that? I forsure thought it was spam) but I do hair so I hardly get a chance to answer phone calls especially from numbers I don't know and who DONT LEAVE A MESSAGE. I might also add that the week before I got an email and I confirmed the appt on there. So we show up today ready to get my teeth cleaned and my son's cavities filled that's he's been nervous about now for the 2nd time and they had canceled our appointments because they called and I hadn't answered and they treated us horribly about it. Which is frustrating because I have to get a sitter for my 2 year old each time on top of it all. I asked Cheryl why she would do that and she said because we can. Like I said I have gone for years and never missed one so why would you think I'm not coming?! I tried to ask to talk to Dr Hatch that I've gone to for years and he wouldn't even come out. I have sent them so much business and now they are just so unprofessional and do not care about their clients. First time here. Staff was friendly from the receptionist to the dentist m, they were very professional. The facility is clean and inviting. Robin my hygienist was great. She was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions, ie what's the difference between plaque and tartar, questions that keep me up at night. ;) Anyway, pleasant experience and will definitely comeback. I got Xray, checked by doctor Hatch, he careful examined , could not find anything wrong with my crowns. With 2 insurance, I did not pay any penny. I decided to transfer my previous dental record from previous dentist to doctor Hatch. Base on my sister recommend, Yelp review and first time at the office. my gut tell me this' a right choice. With the previous dentist, even with 2 insurance, each time I went there, I have to pay up front before the job done by dentist assistant, and believe me it is not cheap. This office reminds me of a kinder world. Everyone who works there from the front desk experts to the especially kind hygienist, and the soft spoken Dr. Hatch are special. Dr. Hatch LISTENS and then replies with a well thought out plan. After a few years of suffering through horrendous experiences with one of the huge, corporate run office that push (and offer every type) procedures I didn't need (and ruined 2 perfectly good teeth in the process) I had finally had enough. I was afraid to go anywhere else because I thought that that was the way dentistry had evolved. I was wrong. The entire dental team was so kind and made my kids feel special. Our hygienist Christie was quick, efficient, and friendly. My daughter needed some treatment for sealants to protect and prevent against cavities in the deep grooves of her molars and they made it happen same day! Im well pleased with this practice after 3 visits. Dr Alex Hatch seems knowledgeable, staff super, fillings painless. Even though my insurance covers fillings & this practice is PPO w/my insurance, it still cost me 50$ for each filling because insurance only covers amalgam fillings. No dentists do amalgam fillings these days, per Dr Hatch's staff. Recommend you ask ahead of time about cost you if thats an issue for you. read more

My family and I have been with Dr. Hatch since 2007, but ever since he retired and the new dentists came in, it has been an underwhelming experience. My parents left first, I decided to stay to give them a chance and I liked my hygienist. I quickly learned the hard way by staying. I was lied straight to my face. I asked to have them NOT to do X-rays on me because I had them done less than one year ago and I didn't think my new dental insurance would cover it. The x ray employee said I must have it done. I insisted I did not want the X-rays done, she insisted that I need them done and if my insurance turns out not covering them, it will get waived. That is the only reason why I let her. I just wanted my teeth cleaned without x rays, but that was not possible? My boyfriend (who I referred there before the dentist change) said he had a similar experience. The front desk lady wanted to charge me for the x rays when I was done, but I told her what the x Ray technician said to me and the front desk lady said she will get that taken care of. Now I am getting a bill 8-9 months later over $100 for those X-rays. I left a message on their machine. Waiting for a reply back. I will let you yelpers know how they respond to this. I chose to have yesterday the initial "new patient" package ($19) at Dana Park Dental mainly based on their proximity to my home. Both the office and the staff impressed me as a respectful, excellent professional environment, inducive to trust and confidence. For the very first consult + cleaning the appointment was a relatively long (well over 1 hour), and the hygienist (Terry) took not only the usual X-rays, but also quite a number of intra-oral pics, based on which she then also explained to me simply and patiently her findings. I think the following cleaning was more than just "basic", and Terry kindly also explained each step of the procedure. No pain or discomfort whatsoever. Subsequently Dr.Hatch examined my mouth/teeth in quite detail, and expanded on Terry's findings, specifying also the priority and timing of the necessary remedies. Luckily he found no problems needing immediate attention, but suggested 3 spots that should be monitored and eventually treated. At no point did I feel any "sale pressure" - his manner being very professional, while friendly and easy going. His front desk also printed out for me a treatment plan that I will discuss at my leisure with my insurance. Once I did so I shall most definitely return to Dana Park Dental for the suggested work. read more
