I get very anxious having to go to the dentist and they put me at ease when I was there. I had concerns about some teeth and Dr Frost took his time and explained what was going on. They didn't try to do things I didn't require just because I asked about certain teeth like at other dental offices. Amy the hygienist was also amazing my teeth are super sensitive to cold. Once I let her know she did a manual cleaning took her time asking me if I was okay often. Giving me alternative to avoid the pain from the cold routes. I will definitely be back. read more

Everything has gone well so far. Deep teeth cleaning was gentle, thorough and my teeth are the whitest they have been in my adult life now. Extractions were as gental as they can be. Anticipating an implant WHICH THEY MAKE INHOUSE! After so many bad experiences in the past at other dentists, I just am dumbfounded at how great this office is. It inspired me to share... which is rare for me. Lol I think possibly other local dentists must have made the bad reviews in the past because it takes ALOT to impress me and this office did and their equipment is state of the art and I had like 4 visits now with different staff and ALL are incredible gentle. The first exam I had, the dental assistant was using broken equipment to try to get X-rays, and kept stabbing my gums while trying to get the X-ray. She attempted the same spot 5 times before I said I had enough. The dentist made me a new front tooth in office, which now I know.. NEVER let a dentist make a tooth for you. Go to a lab where they do it right. Especially for front teeth. My front tooth looked like a chiclet and they agreed to redo it and sent me to a lab. The tooth looked good upon arrival, but the dentist took a grinder to the tip of it, reshaped it, and now I have a crooked smile. They won't refund my money and say they can try again, but I am not going to waste any more time or money. The front desk staff are very friendly, as are the dentists.. but the work is sub par to say the least. read more

I have been looking for a new dental office and unfortunately, this is definitely not it. Everyone in the office was friendly but it seemed a bit outdated overall, none of the equipment was broken but you could definitely tell it's not a new office. I mainly needed my teeth cleaned and was quoted $99 for a new patient special. As if leaving a new customer waiting in the dental chair for over 40 minutes wasn't bad enough, I did not get my teeth cleaned and was still expected to pay the $99 just for the 3 minute "consult" I had with the dentist and x-rays. The receptionist tried to sell me on an expensive dental plan before leaving, after no work was done. Clearly this office cares more for making money than keeping their patients happy- what a waste of a babysitter and time off work. I will continue my search for an honest dental office. **Also, if the business responds here like they did elsewhere, I'd appreciate it if they kept my private medical information out of their response this time, Thank you. read more

The entire crew at Gilbert Dental Center is phenomenal! From the front office to the back office everyone is so nice and caring. Everyone at this office cares about your needs and what makes you comfortable. They always have great music playing and Gilbert magazine that fit the office. The best part is they have same day crowns! And if you ever had a temporary crown you know how much of a big deal that is!! I went to get my teeth cleaned on 9/25/2024. When I arrived, I asked to use the restroom and, instead of directing me to the restroom inside the office, they gave me a key for an outside bathroom that didn't work. I was finally allowed to use the inside restroom (I felt so privileged). The dental hygienist intentionally neglected to use suction while employing a water pick, so I had water running down my face. She never offered anything to help me wipe it off, and I had to wad up the apron they gave me. At one point, she was actually spraying me in the face with the tool she had entirely removed from my mouth. I asked for a replacement t-shirt, to which they responded, "We don't have any." There were t-shirts draped over the chair in the room where I was getting my teeth cleaned! When the dentist finally showed up, he never said a single word to me. He only spoke to the dental hygienist. It was as if I wasn't even there. Before I left, I mentioned that if I ever had any cavities that I suffer from PTSD and may need medication to help with panic attacks. The most egregious thing the dental hygienist ever did was try and inquire *why* I had PTSD. That information was not her business and she had no right asking for that specific piece of Protected Health Information. I felt embarrassed, humiliated, and I believe I was meant to feel this way. If you make the mistake of going to this dentist, make sure you are liked by the staff before you show up; otherwise, it's quite likely you will experience the same poor level of service as I did. Before coming to Gilbert Dental Center, I had not been to the dentist in many many years because I had major dental anxiety after doing some research my husband and I decided that we would try Gilbert Dental Center and he went first he came home He reassured me that the staff was amazing, and that everything was going to be OK so I took a leap of faith and I made an appointment, I am so glad that I did. I cried my entire appointment because of my embarrassment but the staff was unbelievably kind and patient. Jan and Mariah are amazing. Dr. Bingham is incredible. I started my dental journey one year ago and I have one implant left to do. I'm actually a little bit sad that I won't see the staff as regularly anymore, my husband and I have six children we have since moved them all over to Gilbert Dental Center. I've been going to the Gilbert Dental Center since I was a child but recently experienced some unsettling visits that have changed my opinion of GDC. The regular Dr. Sam Bollwinkel was on vacation and Dr. Pineda was filling in. I have recently had issues with my jaw popping (TMJ) and I had let them know as well before cleaning. First Visit: General checkup and cleanup - the cleaning went well and fantastic. They rushed me into a 3d Panoramic scan of my jaw which I should have asked how much it cost beforehand because that was like $300+ right there instantly. And of course the checkup revealed I had 7 cavities. Fillings Part 1: An hour and twenty minute procedure - mostly fillings in-between my teeth that went pretty well for the most part aside from my jaw hurting and wanting to close on me. After everything was done my teeth alignment felt off because one of my front teeth was touching and the other one wasn't so it felt pretty awkward. I was also pretty numb so we parted ways until part 2 a week later. Filling Part 2: I let the assistant and Dr. Pineda know my feelings on my front teeth being off in terms of touching and I felt like instead of working with me on this that they were trying to convince me that my jaw or something else was at fault. They completely went against me, like I wouldn't know how my teeth feel when touching... they became very defensive and didn't even want to form a theory on how this could have happened (aside from blaming my jaw which I strongly disagree with). It felt like it got a little tense before the second part of the fillings took place - the procedure only lasted 20-30 minutes this time around but at the end it felt very rushed like they both didn't want anything to do with me in terms of working on my teeth. I have been going here for at least 10-15 years and I feel terrible after this visit and this experience. After thinking about it, I could have been a little harsh but I was and still am disappointed - I would prefer to see Dr. Bollwinkel next time. read more

I have been to a lot of dentists in my life. I have had numerous root canals and crowns and I just got a crown replaced here a few weeks ago. The previous dentist left a gap so my tooth that had the crown always got food in there and it was a huge headache. With lots of flossing and pain trying to get food out. My tooth is now fixed and amazing! It was quicker than I thought and all done in office same day. No sending anything into the lab with a temp crown and coming back in a week. (Hence the tad bit higher price point) I saw Dr. Skinner and had minimal pain and excellent care. I would recommend this office to anyone seeking a professional, nice, and clean office. read more

I haven't had the best luck in finding a great dentist for my family...until now! I was referred to this practice after my husband had to have some work done by a specialist, but the follow-up filling had to be done by his normal dentist. The problem was that we didn't have a regular dentist. The Endodonist referred us to his personal dentist, Dr. Bollwinkel. To date, our entire family of four have had routine cleanings and fillings. We all love it and I personally felt that this place has provided one of the best cleanings I've ever had. The entire staff is friendly and professional, the office is clean and elegant, they are working with the latest equipment, I've never felt rushed or left with a mouth full of gritty stuff, and best of all, they give you awesome goodie bags...yes, adults too! My husband is the one that has had non-routine work done and he has been very happy. I don't find them over-priced, but I also have a great dental plan, so I'm not familiar with cash pricing. Anytime we need to have work done, they always let us know beforehand what to expect in terms of payment, which has been right on the money so far. It's a bummer to see this practice not have higher ratings because I would definitely recommend them! read more

Gilbert Dental Center is terrible. The office staff over-schedule the dentists. So even if you show up 15 mins early to your appointment and check in plan on waiting a full 45 minutes before getting back to the room. Don't dare complain to the office staff. Their fake smiles and welcoming disposition QUICKLY changes if you raise any concerns about anything. Once back in a room in a chair, plan on waiting an additional 15 minutes before the dental hygienist even comes in. The hygienists are probably the best place this office has going for it. Dr Bollwinkel is terrible. Probably the WORST dentist I've ever been to. He messed up two crowns that had to both be re-done and caused damage to a root canal I had just finished paying for. He took no responsibility for the damage and pain. When he couldn't figure out how to get my crowns from bumping my other teeth he offered to just prescribe me an endless supply of vicodin. I tried calling the office numerous times and he avoided my calls for a full month while his catty office staff made endless excuses for him. He is a pathetic excuse for a human and should have his license revoked. read more
