Great dentists but their billing is a rip off. Beware of deceitful billing practices.

This is the worst dentist office I have ever been to. They continue to upsell you on services you do not need and charge you more than they originally committed to. You go in for one tooth issue and they provide you with a list of "nice to have" things done to your teeth. They quote you one price and when you are done, they send you a bill for a lot more. You go in for teeth cleaning, they upsell you on their mouthwash and mouthguard. When I confronted them about the original price, showed proof of what they originally quoted me, and reminded them of our original conversations, they called me a liar. We've gone to Power Ranch Dental for many years. Dr Halls and Christin have always taken good care of us So rightfully so, we were uncertain how the future would look with the news Dr. Halls was moving. I'm happy to report that his replacement, Dr. Jordan, is FANTASTIC! he took the time with my very fearful 7 year old and eased his nerves, then backed up his words with his works. He administered the best numbing shot with very little pain and my son was immediately relieved. I'm grateful my boy is no longer nervous to visit the dentist. Definitely give the new doc a shot, he's far from "new" and knows his stuff. read more

Buyer Beware! My son who is on the spectrum went here for a new patient special cleaning exam x-rays for $20. They told him he needed a deep cleaning and 2 fillings for a cost of $800 dollars. He got a 2nd opinion and they called BS. No deep cleaning needed and cleaning, exams, x-rays and fillings for $114. SCAMMERS!!! read more

Could now be more disappointed with this practice. I searched for a new dentist and made my first visit one month ago. I have been there 6 times so far this month and still waiting to have my simple routine work done properly. I went in for a simple cleaning and was told that I had numerous fillings that needed to be redone. I went back the next day to have them redone and my mouth has not been the same since. I had zero pain or discomfort prior to going. After they redid my fillings, I began experiencing severe temperature sensitivity in my bottom right molar. I went back two more times for them to try to correct before they then told me I needed a crown. I agreed and they started the process. When I went back for the permanent crown, the tech informed me that the crown did not match my teeth before I even saw it. I do believe that the shade should have been matched before having the crown made. They then put my temporary back on and said they would have the crown "custom shaded". I went back approximately 1 week later and was so disgusted at that point that I didn't look closely at the "custom shaded" crown. I didn't pay much attention until the novo and wore off and I was right back to the temperature sensitivity discomfort and which time, I look in my mouth to find that the crown still was multiple shades lighter and clearly did not blend with my teeth. I called the office back, AGAIN, two days ago to explain my frustration and informed them that I was done and wanted a credit to go to another dentist to have the work properly completed. I was told that the office manager was tied up at the moment but would call me right back. It has been two days and nobody had called so I just now called. I was then told that the office manager had been tied up in meetings all day and was still not available........... I am so done with this place due to the inability to fix a very routine issue correctly and the lack of concern or timely follow up for the staff regarding my concerns. I have no idea how the great dentist awards on the wall actually got there. I do not have the time or patience for 7 trips to the dentist to have very routine work done. read more

I am usually terrified to go to the dentist... my first cleaning I cried and cried and cried... the hygienist and Dr Kennedy made sure I was okay and continued the exam maKing sure to be very cautious of my fears... EVERYONE in this office so far has been amazing... the front desk always greets me so nice... the hygienist was probably the nicest person I've ever met in my life... and Dr Kennedy is the best- he knows my fears so he makes sure to explain things to me. He is so gentle, and when he is doing any work he always reminds me to let him know if I can feel anything and he will stop. I think I have finally found my dentist... now hopefully I can only go see them twice a year! read more

My Short Review. I went here for their $19 new patient special. I was told I had 3 cavaties and a cracked tooth (which required a crown). I had x-rays, photos, a cleaning and a check up by the dentist. I was handed an estimate for almost $1,500 and asked to schedule an appointment. I was confused and I told them that I would "let them know." I freaked out (which I never do) and drove home. I thought about it and called my last dentist to schedule a "second opinion" consultation. My dentist confirmed that I do not have 3 cavaties, but I do have a cracked tooth (it does not require a crown, it may down the road require an overlay or crown, but he would like to watch it for now). Overall, I give this office 2 stars because the hygeniest was pushy during my cleaning; she suggested several times that I needed a "deep cleaning" (my other dentist told me I do not need a deep cleaning). She was also a little insulting towards my oral hygiene (I have used a Sonicare since I was in 8th grade) I will be fair and state my dentist did say, "I can see what he's seeing" and he showed me what possibly resembled a cavity, BUT he said they were not in need of a filling and getting one would only "weaken the tooth." I was also disappointed to come on to Yelp and read that two others who visited this practice were told THE EXACT SAME THING (3 cavaties and a crown). Lastly, it was troubling that there are several signs that read "give us a 5 star review on Yelp, Facebook, Google, etc and get a $5 Starbucks card (you had to leave two, 5-star reviews on different sites). Overall, is this a bad dentist? I don't know. I would not recommend this dentist based on my experience. If you need a cleaning, you're new in town and only have $19 to spend then it makes sense, BUT you have to get a second opinion prior to having any type of dental work done in this office because he's overly aggressive in his recommendations. read more

Just had my first appointment. Not only is this place super convenient but the people there are so sweet and caring. You can tell they actually truly care about their patients. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a dentist. Plus they're super thorough. I've been to dentists who are super quick And I feel like they skip over things. However Power Ranch Dental is not like that. They go in depth with you and cover any concerns you may have. I'm one of those weird people who likes going to the dentist so I take my teeth care super serious and they made me feel very comfortable. I've been going to Power Ranch dental for 3 years now... love them every time! Super friendly team all the way from the front desk to the hygentist to the dentist himself. He always takes time to listen to concerns and can tell he genuinely cares. I never feel like he is trying to rush off to the next patient and get me out of there to make room for the next patient. And they never make me feel ashamed if I have a bad spot on my teeth. Above that, my teeth have never been better!... it's hard to find a dentist now-a-days that is both skilled AND genuinely cares! I have horrible anxiety in general and it gets a lot worse going to the dentist. but this is the only place i can go that treats me so nicely and makes me feel so comfortable. i was waiting in the lobby deciding whether or not to leave because of my anxiety being so bad but as soon as they called me back they made me feel so so much better. and that's rare. i love this people to death and never want to switch to a different dentist!!! read more

BEWARE: If I could I would give this place 0 stars. They are extremely dishonest. Went in for a cleaning and they told me that I needed a deep cleaning and told me that they were going to do it right then and there on the spot and numb me up. I refused to allow them to do that knowing that something sketchy was up because of the rush to get me to do this invasive procedure and I've never had dental issues before. I went to a periodontist for a second opinion to see if I actually needed a deep cleaning and NOTHING was wrong with my gums and a deep cleaning was not recommended. I was also told by Power Ranch Dental at the same appointment that I needed 3 cavities filled. I put that appointment off as well due to them not having time that day to fill my cavities. Thank goodness that appointment was put off. Since receiving a different diagnosis from the periodontist I decided to never return to Power Ranch Dental and see a different dentist at another practice. The dentist at the new practice found NO CAVITIES. Not even one!!!! Makes me very angry that I was told I needed 3 fillings for no reason. Beware of this place!!!! Also, this place pays their patients in gift cards to write 5 star reviews on yelp so more than likely a lot of these reviews aren't accurate because I mean who wouldn't want a gift card to Starbucks or movie tickets. Just throw up meaningless 5 star reviews and fork over the gift card. read more

I really would like to give zero starts. A total scheme of a dental office. I chose this place as my new dentist due to the nice flyer they mailed advertising new patient services. I have Delta Dental with my company and amazing benefits. My first visit they promised no charges for the cleaning, xray and initial checkup upon me signing up for scaling (very expensive deep cleaning). The flyer says the main services are a flat rate and my insurance co agreed they are too but the way they billed them AFTER they exhausted my benefits with other stuff ended up on me losing that benefit. The dentist suggested I needed more work and I was ok w that . It is the way they do the billing. After the initial paper work, I agreed to in an house payment plan--knowing if THEY mess up the charges I could cancel. I went in for a scheduled appt and a different office girl from the first day came in to tell me I was getting billed wrong and would need to pay another 1800 dollars. I told them cancel all appts right there and refund the rest. I checked with a lawyer from my company. You cannot bill for service not rendered. They have yet to refund the additional charges on the care credit meanwhile my insurance already paid all claims. My insurance company said the charges sent in are roughly 25% above national average. Rip off. Do not go here. I will write a review weekly on numerous sites until I see a refund for and charges for the right bill. I should NOT be charged for the cleaning since I am giving them over 1100 out of pocket for a deep cleaning and even more for a crown. The dentist and periodontist were very nice. The office girl is the rudest thing I ever met and completely unorganized. I work and manage in the finance field so being treated like a moron is something I do not take lightly. I have never had a worse experience with a dental office. My sister and I went in for a cleaning, and she was told she had 8 cavities, and I was told I had 5. I am one of those people that flosses once a day and brushes twice a day. They told me, i had cavities in between my teeth that flossing could not reach. I was in shock. I went to a different dentist for a second opinion. They said my teeth were fine. This was over a year ago, and have gone to 2 different dentists since then and have had no problems with my teeth. I dont know agenda is, but I am so glad I did not get 5 teeth needlessly filled. If you go here and are told you have over 2 cavities at one time, its best to get a second opinion. read more
