I didn't actually use Harry because his schedule was booked (rightfully so) but he was extremely helpful even though he knew he wasn't going to make any money off me. Today was our third time working with Harry Hastie, and I cannot recommend him enough! We have used him in the past with a carpenter bee problem (which he was able to resolve) and now with a small termite problem. Every other company recommended we spend thousands to get the house tarped and fogged, whereas Harry was able to treat the issue locally for half the cost of what competitors wanted to charge. Harry is Excellent! We recently noticed what looked like sawdust on our bedroom carpet. Harry confirms it was indeed termites, but he could treat it effectively and on the spot. The next week we saw what appeared to be a similar problem and got very concerned. After being told by another company my house needed to be tented at a cost of several grand, and 4 days of major inconvenience, I had Hastie Termine Company come out to do an inspection to get a second opinion. Harry must be the most honest and helpful person in the termite control business! Referred to me by a friend, I called Harry in a crunch (i.e. what seemed to be a sudden infestation). He came out to my house right away; diagnosed the situation; gave me some recommendations; and didn't charge me a dime. Nothing. He just shared with me some wisdom from the industry and how to best address my problem, which ended up not being termites but another kind of bug that looks like termites. He referred me to a good pest control company, but definitely did not pressure me to use that one. Just made a recommendation. ... And since he has pets of his own, he's a big fan of using pet-safe products when an effective one exists for the problem. This company is a total scam. He would not do an inspection and go under our property to see what termite damage we had, if any, he would only go under our property if we called his friend who has a pest control company to see if there were any rats. He then sent an invoice for $200.00 for an inspection report which he never did. He never went under the house nor did he do any inspection inside the house. When told we would not pay the $200 for his bogus report he threatened to call our city and report that we had rats which we do not have. Stay away from this company. read more

I need a real estate termite inspection which Harry doesn't do (does do after the refinance inspections and work) and Harry provided me with amazing service anyway-gave me a referral to get the real estate termite inspection to a firm that provided an appt right away for Monday, despite the Thanksgiving holiday, and also explained the service he provides that is much less expensive (& presumably more effective) than the standard services provided by other firms. One of the contractors told me that we might have termites, and so, based on other great reviews, I called Hastie Termite after we had no luck with some big name termite companies who gave me a generic plan that would cost a lot of money. Harry came out for an inspection. From the get go, I could tell that he's very experienced and knowledgeable. In addition, he was so upfront and honest. He told me that for our issue, putting termite baits would not do much, but that I needed to replace the fence that was the food source for the subterranean termites. I couldn't believe my ears. Asked for an inspection and quote, but ended up not needing any inspection nor any treatment. Harry explained that the area that I live in doesn't have a severe termite problem that he's aware of, and the termite site is on the fence outside the house, plus the house is not close to the site, and separated with stucco. After discovered that I'm a new home owner, Harry spent the next half hour explaining household stuff for me that's even more detailed than the house inspector that we used. Harry's help and advice is much appreciated. (Just want to note that Harry was 15 mins late, but I was not time pressured, and I can easily keep myself busy for 15 mins.
