Fantastic! My hubby and I were here from Texas, visiting his family, and he was craving fried clams. He loved the clams and my fish & chips were delicious as well as my sister in law's fried sea scallops and sweet potato fries. They obviously keep their frying oil very clean because all the fried food was very fresh and clean tasting. The cinnamon bun with apples, caramel sauce and ice cream dessert was plenty for four of us to share and it was absolutely incredible. We'll be back! read more

Great little dinner setting! They have great hours open till 11PM most nights and 12AM on Friday and Saturday nights. They serve breakfast all day too. And they also have beer! Cash only - there is an ATM in the restaurant if you forget. A handful or so of booths with a couple small tables and also few bar-stools at the counter. This place is not fancy and probably hasn't been renovated since the 50's - but seriously who cares - good food and staff is all that matters! We came in thinking they mostly served seafood but after receiving the menu were pleasantly surprised with how many different offerings they had - at least 7 full pages. Everything ranging from salads, appetizers, pasta, sandwiches, home-style dinners and seafood. We started with the spicy fried pickles - these were so good. Spicy but a perfect balance with the batter and dipping sauce. I had the key west fried haddock dinner. The fish was cooked perfect and the coleslaw was very good. My lunch companion had the fried clam bellies dinner - which I had to try - the clams were cooked perfect and so tender. They have a ton of homemade pies, desserts, frappes and sundaes. Great food at a reasonable price. Been here multiple times in the last month for breakfast and lunch. The food here is always great and are decent sized portions. I never leave here hungry. I recommend the eggs Benedict with hash and definitely try the clam chowder. There's a great cozy atmosphere here and the wait staff are attentive and kind, my coffee was never empty! Will never go here again!! Brought my partner who is in a wheelchair. Walked to both doors, no ramps. I walked inside and two waitresses were standing there looking at me. This is a really small spot on the side of the road, but the food is definitely good I ordered the lobster sliders, instead of the lobster roll so that it could be easily shared. Came with 3 sliders, coleslaw and a generous helping of lobster meat inside - absolutely no skimping! Their shoestring style onion rings were delicious also; not too oily and crunchy. My mom also ordered their egg salad sandwich, which tasted homemade and was packed with lettuce, tomato and a good helping of their egg salad. I had driven by this place many times and heard that it was good for fried clams, chowder, etc. Unfortunately, I did not get good service...the waitresses love to chat and ignore customers that they don't know. And the food was disappointing as well. I had the fried clams. They were bland and tasteless, and the fries were soggy and undercooked. The worst part of my visit was the men's room. It is located on the side of the building so you have to go outside to get there. It was FILTHY! It looked like a gas station bathroom somewhere along a deserted highway. I found the staff in this restaurant to be unfriendly and mediocre in the service provided. The food was unremarkable and the service was poor. The only bright spot was the teenage young man who seated us, provided menus and took our beverage orders. He was friendly, courteous and helpful and was a diligent worker. His assistance and service provided is what allowed me to rate two stars instead of one star. The other employees (ie the adults in the room) should look to him as a role model. Our primary server was perfunctory at best, barely having eye contact, practically throwing our plates on the table, never checking to see if we liked our meal and then, without a word, plunking our bill on the table without asking if we wanted dessert or anything else. My husband and I came here because STEAMERS in Newton was closed... (excellent seafood and huge lobster rolls, and really nice friendly owners) we got the seafood combo platter and it was so bland. I was so unimpressed and disappointed. The waitress seemed so annoyed anytime anyone asked for anything. She'd roll her eyes or have a little bit of an attitude and then make a little recovery every time by being nice again. It was awkward and uncomfortable. Very disappointed and won't go back. I used to go here very often when I worked near that area. It was always good food, good prices, fast service. However, when we decided to go there for dinner this weekend, it was disappointing. First of all, I do want to give huge kudos to the busboy who greeted us, sat us. We ordered the clam plate, large scallop plate ($36), a tea, a chocolate milk, we ended with lemon meringue, scoop of ice cream and cherry pie. The bill was $97.00! Okay for that price I could have sat at a very fancy restaurant, got a Sangria, glass of wine a high-end meal overlooking a lake or at least with some ambiance than this diner. With tip it was $120. We did have to hunt down our server for the final bill and we didn't see her much after the dinner was served to check on us. They are short staffed like other places. One time was when they reopened (covid) & my chicken sandwich cost $13...didn't even come with fries. It was nothing special & on the small side. Last time I was there I dined with a friend. He got fish & chips & said it was good. On Fridays it's only $9.95. I got a chicken sandwich & this time waitress said it didn't come with fries. You have to get a side of fries but I lucked out & ate some of my buds (they gave a lot with fish&chips). I just wish they had fries served with the sandwiches like most places. It is creamy, well-seasoned and the bread is nice doughy on the inside. Service was adequate. Nothing particularly special, but they got our food out fast enough. The food... I had a clam and calamari plate. The clams were excellent, but the standout was definitely the calamari. It was breaded right, seasoned, and they included the tentacles. That is ALWAYS a plus! The Sundays were really big and delicious. Any gripes? Eh... A little pricey and the portions are not as big as the typical seafood restaurant... Or maybe I'm spoiled. This place has really big portions for a reasonable price. The menu is extensive; they have everything from breakfast (all day) to fried seafood to sandwiches to milkshakes and ice cream with homemade whipped cream. The seafood is really good, which is why it's what they're known for. We love the whole belly clam plate. I also like the French toast with with sausage, too, even though it's pretty much the same as what you would get at your typical diner. The ice cream and milkshake options are limited but the whipped cream looks homemade and it's really good. The servers are really attentive for the most part. Fried is a food group! If you're looking for fried goodness, Harry's is your place. I've been coming to Harry's for about two decades and almost nothing has changed in that time. They always have fresh seafood, a gigantic menu, and fantastic food. My favorites here are the cheese fries (I dream about the gooey goodness of these fries), fried scallop plate, and fried fish- See I told you, everything is fried! I am in love with their fried whole belly clams. I am pregnant and clams have been a huge nutrient boost for me but I dont have the energy to make them at home. I have been getting these clams at least once a week for almost two months and they are beyond consistent. Size, flavor and cooked texture is soooo good and they are so flavorful! My husband is not a seafood fan but has been exploring the menu when I order and he's enjoyed every sandwich so far. My daughter loves the kids meal (the brownie is her favorite). I have also gotten their clam chowder and it was FULL of clams and flavor. The best part of this place however is the service. I ordered take on 01/23/2022. It was for Harry's Great Combo. Needless to say there was nothing great about it. The few Haddock pieces was about the size of the scallops. It states on the menu Whole Belly Clams which maybe five at the most and a bunch of clam necks. The whole meal consisted of onion rings, French fries and what ever left of seafood they could scrap up. The price was 37.40 and the amount of seafood was pitiful. I have tasted fried clams all over the state questing for fried clams that even come close to Harry's. Sadly, this means I have faced a lot of disappointment. I don't know what they put in them to make them so amazing, but they are exceptional. Some of the coastal restaurants you find in beach towns could take a page out of their book. Things to note: -There could be a long wait during peak times and there is limited seating in the waiting area. -Cash only but there is an ATM on site. -Mix of bar seating, tables and booths.
