Strange smell when you walk in. Solid visit otherwise. Local postcards and stamps available. Parking lot is a bit chaotic. Clean safe store.

Moth in spinach

Found this in my brand new bag of spinach... purchased 15 minutes ago and poured the bag into my pasta to find this. I expect more for the prices of produce here. Won't be back.

Came here because this store contains the only Starbucks in the area that is open till 8 (everywhere else closes at 7). Staff was super nice, and though they were out of a lot of stuff, I can't be too upset about it because we came within an hour of closing, so it's perfectly possible it was there earlier in the day. Definitely a worthwhile stop!

The sub I wanted cut into 4 pieces
Rev. Dr. Brian S.

I came in about 11:40 am. Asked for an Italian sub on 3 cheese bread. Ms Annette did an excellent job on my sandwich. However the Second Lady named Evette. I told her my condiments. And when I asked her for extra onions. She claimed the only have a little bit left. So she didn't do what I asked her. I also asked her to cut the sandwich into 4 pieces. She said she could only cut into three pieces. So I'm having trouble feeding my three little ones because the sub isn't cut right. My thing is she's there to do a job and however I wanted the sandwich she should've done it how I asked. I feel if I was a white person who asked for the same thing it wouldn't have been a problem. If they would've ran out of onion. The manager would've gotten some from produce and had one of them to chop it up

Being from Florida I was amazed when I stepped into Harris Teeters on East Bay. Aisles and aisles of hot sauces, condiments, well-stocked butcher case, fresh produce from local plantations. Actually blew me away. Oh, and I forgot, even in a tourist area, the prices aren't as outrageously priced as the monopoly in the Sunshine State. We bought 10 ears of fresh corn for $2, 5# of yellow potatoes for $2.99. Then stopped at the butcher case with Prime ground beef $4.99/lb, tomahawk pork chop $8.99/lb, tomahawk ribeye $12.99. And! Next we saw the Kosvlciusko spicy mustard, Lillie's BBQ sauce, Wickles spicy red sandwich spread, rice vinegars all at great prices and available to purchase. The in-house freshly baked bread was ok, typical Boars head cold cuts. Yes, loved this store and the friendly staff. Very clean with a fair size parking lot. Who buys groceries on vacation? We did.

We'd been on the hunt for She-Crab Soup Mix while vacationing in the SE. with no luck....until going to Harris Teeter in Charleston. Nice grocery store! Has pretty much anything you need or want, clean store and VERY nice employees! Figured if they had She-Crab soup mix, it'd be in the "soup" isle but it wasn't there, figured we were out of luck. Went to the service desk and the friendly clerk said "oh, we keep that right here....." and he walked us to the display. Another nice employee came up and said the "82 Queen She-Crab mix is the BEST". So we stocked up to make it at home. Sure wish we had a Harris Teeter grocery store here by us!!! They'd get our business on a regular basis!

Late night snack run, this Harris Teeter is very close to the bottom end of Charleston and that makes it very convenient. Amazingly open 24 hours, too! Full service supermarket with a large produce section, a great looking bakery and butcher, tons of grocery items and a full service pharmacy that had exactly what I needed at 11:00 at night! Plenty of registers open. I think parking might be a challenge during busier times.

Great Proximity to downtown! Housed in a remodel railroad station near downtown Charleston. Store was clean! Items presented were organized and easy to find! Customer service was great! Especially in the deli! Located in touristy area and prices reflect such. Two small bags of grocery cost $97.00

When they say spirits it's only wine and beer. Poor advertising, I walked over a mile just to be disappointed.

That includes this tourist, who was vacationing nearby at the Downtown Embassy Suites. Regardless that Downtown Charleston is charming and rich in history, there are very few businesses catering to the essentials. They are Target, CVS, and Walgreens. When I shopped here it was with an appreciation of the essential goods that Walgreens sells. Right off the bat that is a souvenir. There are very limited places in Downtown to buy Charleston souvenirs. For the record, they were missing in action at Target. Without Walgreens I have some doubt that I would remember Charleston with a T-shirt and magnet. Sold at reasonable prices. The essential store came through for my brother and dad. Browsing the aisles I saw the standard grocery and general merchandise that the typical Walgreens sells. Fortunately I did not need the pharmacy services. Nor did I need alcohol thanks to the Embassy Suites Manager's Reception. The checkout process ran smoothly. There is a single cue that leads to checkout stations. In addition to selling essential goods this business retains the historic charm of Downtown Charleston. Although it is modern inside, it preserves the historic exterior of the former Millennium Music Building. My one complaint is that the pharmacy operates on limited hours. They operate Monday to Friday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM with a 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM meal break. On weekends the pharmacy is closed. Emergencies and illnesses can occur on the weekend. In conclusion I give the Downtown Charleston Walgreens four stars. I appreciate the essential goods and pharmacy that it provides to the local residents and tourists.

Pitt Street Pharmacy - "Mint Chocolate Chip" shake and "Double Oreo" shake

Pitt Street Pharmacy is a historic pharmacy that opened in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina in 1937…read more It was founded by Washington "Wattie" Zeigler, RPh. More than just a place to get medicine, the pharmacy became a local gathering spot. Pitt Street is the center of Mount Pleasant's "old village" district, and the pharmacy became the heart. A soda fountain was added in the 1950s, and the pharmacy soon became a hangout known for serving up ice cream treats and their famous grilled cheese sandwiches. Pitt Street Pharmacy is also one of the oldest pharmacies in the Charleston area to practice compounding: creating customized medications to meet the specific needs of each customer. Today, in the era of mass-produced medications, only a handful of pharmacies still practice compounding. Kim "Kimbo" Richardson, RPh purchased the pharmacy in 1996. Upon his retirement in 2022, the pharmacy was taken over by Brandi Sherbert, who has worked there since her final year in pharmacy school. My family and I visited Pitt Street Pharmacy this past summer while we were visiting family in town. We had checked out Guerin's Pharmacy, which is the oldest pharmacy in South Carolina. We liked it there, but our cousins told us about Pitt Street and said it was even better than Guerin's. They weren't wrong. The place was like one of the old-fashioned pharmacies that you see in an old movie or a movie set in a bygone era. In fact, a scene was even filmed here for the 2004 film "The Notebook". The old soda fountain was beautiful, complete with classic red stools. We decided to sit at a booth. For lunch, my wife ordered a "Chicken Salad Sandwich" (chicken and chopped celery), our older son had a "Hot Dog" (beef frank with ketchup), and I had the "Linda's Club" (3 Layer sandwich with egg salad, lettuce, tomato, ham, cheese, mayo). We couldn't say no to some ice cream treats made with locally-produced Wholly Cow Ice Cream. I had a "Mint Chocolate Chip" shake, our older son had a "Double Oreo" shake, and my wife had a "Root Beer Float". It was so cool to step back in time at Pitt Street Pharmacy! We'll definitely visit again on a future trip to Charleston!

I can't even get my prescriptions filled at Walgreen's anymore due to my insurance and I still shop at Walgreen's way more than CVS. Why do I go there? The biggest reason, honestly, is for their cigarette prices. They have cheaper cigarettes than most gas stations around town and way cheaper cigarettes than other pharmacies. I don't condone smoking.... but if you already smoke maybe you should check it out. They also have good deals all the time. This time I was in search for Gatorade since I just came back from the beach. They had a 2/$3 deal going on. They always have deals on everything I buy from there. Even the cigarettes! They have $.50 off packs regularly. I use the app and score major Walgreen's points and great coupons. Those Walgreen's points are worth real money at Walgreen's! The only thing that sucks is you don't earn and cannot redeem points for tobacco purchases, as well as a few other things like alcohol or dairy. Walgreen's staff is also usually way better than a lot of other places. They train their staff well. Props to Walgreen's management. I used to get my prescriptions filled at this pharmacy a couple of years ago. I loved the pharmacy staff! They were always so nice and remembered my name and could pull me up in the system without me saying a word. They are an excellent pharmacy staff, and the pharmacy is open 24/7 along with the rest of the store! I have so many good memories at this Walgreen's. Will I return? Time and time again.
