The old lady gone say "no cause its not ready " .....then why you charging me when my food isnt ready. Hey can I read my daughter and I were just cruising by and thought we'd check it out. This is our first time at a Harold's Chicken Shack and we thought their chicken was legit! Fries were okay, but the food was hot and fresh which is what we were craving. Don't know why there's so much hate on them in the other reviews. Yhey have signs saying they don't want you to take pictures and you need to show your ID so you shouldn't be surprised when they enforce that. Also, dude helping us was chill - if I was working in a hot kitchen, I don't think I would be more than cordial.... For parents - there's a little playground at the end of the parking lot so you can walk over there with your kids and post up while you wait for your food to be prepared. I just went here for the first time and I WONT be returning. Customer service was absolutely horrible. When I called to place my order they hung up on me when I asked a question. When I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my food I was unaware that I needed my id to use my debt card. They almost refused to let me pay for my food, after I offer an alternative way to prove my identity. I offered to cancel the order because I didn't have my id and I was given a dirty look. If that was not a factor I would've give this Harold Chichen Shake # 83 in Aurora "ZERO STARS" The "Big Back" guy that took my order for both over the phone and at the window was RUDE ASF!!!!. He blew up over the fact that I took a picture of the menu on the wall. This was my first time at this location. Im a foodie, I was taking the picture of the menu on the wall for future reference..if I was to ever return...but "Big Back" with the fake gold started to yell from the back of the kitchen and accusing me of trying to take a picture of their kitchen.dirty kitchen at that! .He continued yelling from the back and came back to the prison size window to only close the shades as if frying chicken is a top secret! I will never return and I will not recommend anybody I know or come across to NEVER do business with this resturant. (READ OTHER REVIEWS). Reputation is everything protect it at all cost. I recently visited Harold's in Aurora, and unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the experience. The woman at the front was okay, but the Black gentleman working there was incredibly rude and unprofessional. From the moment we walked in, he had an aggressive, nonchalant attitude like he didn't want to be there. This wasn't just a one-time issue--I've heard from several others that this is how he regularly acts. The saddest part is they're rarely packed, and with behavior like his, it's easy to see why. As a business owner, I understand the pressure of covering bills, paying for POS systems, and taking care of staff. I would only recommend this business if you don't care about the service you receive when buying food from places. The chicken/fries are very very good (must get mild sauce)! however the woman working the window is very bad-mannered. Between her and the man cooking it almost seemed like customers were unwanted. I've never experienced customer service like this before. I just moved to Naperville and saw a Harold's in my neighborhood. So I called to place my order the guy who answered was definitely unfriendly. I still placed my order got there to pick up my food. Mind you he hung up before I could finish my order. Called back he was never apologetic but ok whatever. So I get there I told him I was picking up my order he never took a name but nonetheless he saw I was using a card and said I had to provide my ID. No problem so I asked am I just showing you or slide it through the little opening. He said "what do you think"? I was like this is my first time here sir so that's why I'm asking. Then he closed the little opening and refused to serve me . Then told me don't be rude the next time. What? Smh I told him you've been rude from the beginning. Wow! I'm 61 and have never encountered anything like that before. I hope I'm not the only one who has shared negative reviews because this business does not need to be in our community. Trying to patronize a black business in a predominantly non-black community and to be treated like this. I will be very vocal about this location. I'm in property management and I have residents asking about places all the time. This won't be one of them! Don't bring that disrespectful towards black people attitude here sir.
