often what is on the menu is unavailable Good food and service, tho Nice outside area Somewhat limited parking

My wife and I went to this restaurant this past Saturday night. We sat outside on the tented deck which was really nice. Great selection of north country beers and ciders. The service was a little slow but we were not in a rush. I had the sweet tang salad with the balsamic dressing which they ran out of but did not tell me. So the salad was pretty dry. My wife had the veggie burger which is not freshly made so it was disappointing. The waitress was polite and friendly. Great place to hang out on a nice weekend afternoon. read more

I thought maybe I had pulled up the wrong restaurant when I noticed all the 5-star reviews of the Harmony Inn. Perhaps we went on a bad night. There were 8 in our group and everyone's entrees ranged from "ok" at best, to "inedible" at worst. None of us were impressed at all, and all of us left much of the meal on our plates. We had several orders of potato pancakes to start, which were terrible. They were very thick and deep fried or something. For the entrees, I received the wrong meal entirely, and one member of our party got the Wiener Schnitzel which was so bad he couldn't even eat it. He took about 2 bites then told our waitress that it was just inedible. She did ask if he wanted something else, but seeing as no one was impressed so far, he declined. She left it on the bill which left an even worse taste in our mouths. I will definitely never come back here again. read more

The owner does such a good job with North Country in Slippery rock and the Harmony Inn atmosphere is solid. I just doesn't get why the menu is subpar. It's been years a d no better than the day it opened. read more

Yum!! Adorable old mansion turned into a restaurant. The food is delicious had fish n chips, pretzel, wings. All wonderfully prepared and super tasty. The wings are $2 each which is a little shocking but they are huge like 2 wings in one easily. Great service too. Cant wait to go back! read more

I wanted so bad to like this place and I was really looking forward to eating here. The stars that I'm giving are for atmosphere because I really did not enjoy my meal at all. The portions are huge but that is only a good thing if the food is tasty. I really hope they perfect the menu because the place has so much potential read more

The outdoor entertainment drew us in. It is set in a quaint historic village. Very nice vintage restaurant. We sat on the upper balcony which was literally in the trees. We each had a seasonal beer which was nice. You may wonder why I keep avoiding the food. We loved this place So much but the food was completely average. If the place wasn't so nice I wouldn't come back. As it is we will stop in again. Just not right away. read more

Great food and atmosphere. Place is supposed to be haunted. Was hoping to see something, no such luck on this trip.

This is a cool restaurant housed in an old house/hotel. They have a great outdoor patio and porch for dining outside. Their specialties include German dishes like spaetzle and schnitzel. They also have salads, sandwiches, etc. I had their chicken spaetzle which was delicious. My companion had the steak salad which was very good also. The service was a bit slow hence the 4 not 5 star rating. It's a great place to stop if you're in the area visiting the nature parks nearby. read more

Ordered the prime rib--medium. It was BEYOND MEDIUM. It was inedible. Very very unhappy with this meal.

This place was adorable. Harmony is a historic town. All the stores were closed by the time we got there, but it looks as though it is one of those villages you can go and learn about the olden days. We waited about 40 minutes to get a seat on the outdoor patio. The patio is really nice and dogs are welcome. We ordered some beers at the bar. I enjoyed a nice sour beer. I really like the patio, there were all sorts of folks. I don't remember what I ordered, but the atmosphere was very nice! read more

Harmony Inn couldn't be more charming! Everything about the property makes you want to stop there and enjoy delicious food and drink. I had a lovely time there with my grown children in October '20 ... you can't beat the Fall colors there that time of the year! read more

Ate in the bar. Very small menu with a few German foods. I got a beef sandwich. Flavor was good but a lot of fat. $22 way overpriced! Not impressed with this place. read more

The "Running Bull" was phenomenal. I'm a big fan of beef dip type sandwiches, and this was one of the best I've ever had. The brisket had an awesome flavor, and the ciabatta was toasted perfectly and held everything together even when dipping in the Au Jus. Loved every bite. Service was good, the girls working were all friendly. The menu is pretty well put together, lots of different things to try that are all well thought out. I can't wait to go back. read more

I really wanted to give the Harmony Inn more than three stars because I've heard so many great things and the location and restaurant were beautiful, but unfortunately some of our food was just okay and our service wasn't great. We went for the first time for a night out for my husband birthday and really enjoyed sitting outside on a beautiful evening, ordering a drink at the patio bar while waiting for our table. It was about a 40 minute wait on a Friday night when we arrived so not too bad and again we didn't mind. We asked to be seated on the second story terrace which was an absolutely beautiful seating area through the historic restaurant. We ordered the soft pretzel appetizer that's served with beer cheese and spicy mustard and enjoyed it. My son ordered BBQ wings for his appetizer, my husband a Reuben, and my daughter and I split the Salmon BLT with a side salad. Here's where I'm torn.... half of our food was really delicious, and the other half.... well I wish I had sent it back. My poor sons wings were flavorless with literally a drizzle of BBQ sauce across the top - weird! My husband thought his Reuben was decent, and my salad was WAY overdressed but the Salmon BLT was great. Not sure if we will give them a try again or not. I hope so because the ambience is really beautiful and maybe our waitress was just having an off night - she did admit to being new - but was overall inattentive, unknowledgeable of the menu, and just didn't provide that great of service. So definitely a little disappointing for our first experience here. read more

I have not written a review in years and choose to do so very rarely unless I see necessary. Today warranted a necessary review. Ugh where to start. My husband and I have been frequenting this restaurant over the last 10 years (since our early 20's) and have had great times. Recently it has been less than enjoyable. The prices have gone WAY up. No problem. We get it and still enjoy eating out and paying for great food. Today, (and the last few times) we did not even get OK food. Reuben for 18$ had barely any corned beef and the bread was so wet the bottom had disintegrated. My husband had schnitzel and chose the mustard spätzle. Ok, yes you would assume you would taste mustard, but my gosh this dish was soaked in mustard and the only thing you could taste. It was bad and could/should be considered inedible. I ordered the sweet tang salad which I have enjoyed in the last few years. It has now gone up to 16$ with no protein (which is fine with me), however there was barely any goat cheese and presented more like a side salad. When paying 16$ for a salad with no meat, the highlights are the goat cheese and other additions which were sparce. Our server was OK. Somewhat attentive but gave off a "tough girl" vibe. I did not mind that and enjoyed her straightforward presentation. However, she mentioned that it did not appear that we enjoyed our food which we confirmed. Well, it ended there without any other care or concern and it took quite a white to get our check. I know on here many other owners always inquire why the customer did not speak on behalf of their negative experience while in house. I do not disagree but when you go out to have a good time it can be uncomfortable and time consuming to choose to confront and potentially argue with others about the negative experience. I choose to pay for what I ordered (good or bad), learn from our experience and not return, and warn or inform others. read more

Wow! This was top notch from the moment we walked in, friendly greeting from the staff, super accommodating with our two kiddos, our server Sherry was the absolute best, Food was amazing, drink selections were above and beyond what we thought we'd get in the town. We will definitely be back not only for the food and drinks but for the service and ambiance. Worth the 45 minute drive from Canonsburg! And like I said before Sherry was a top notch server, knew her stuff and kept everything moving with our kids which is huge when they are dining with you as parents. read more

This is an amazing place to have dinner and hang out. The old tavern-style atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. If you are just looking for a drink and appetizer, sit at the bar. Scott, the bartender, is the best. He'll deliver drinks in seconds and take care of the food. If you prefer a table there are several in the bar area and a separate dining room. Now for the food - They serve traditional American and German food, so you can always get potato pancakes or spaetzle for sides. There are several strudels and I chose the weekly special - a brussel sprout, potato and bacon filling wrapped in a flaky pastry topped with a cognac cream sauce; something savory you don't make at home. If you like a salad, I recommend the sweet tang with strawberries and candied pecans. The menu is extensive including seafood, beef, chicken, and sandwiches, all expertly prepared. In nice weather you can sit on the patio by the brick fireplace. If you're wondering, it's family friendly. Remember to consider stopping if you're on your way to or from the Grove City Outlets. Check out the events calendar to make an evening of it. read more

Was here several months ago, but only for beers. Was here last night for an early dinner with my husband and in-laws, and sat at a high-top near the bar on the patio. The weather was nice and the patio was pretty full. The bartenders that waited on our table were very pleasant and attentive throughout our meal. Collectively, we ordered: bacon wrapped scallops, north country burger, turkey devonshire (open faced turkey sandwich), henpeckin' (grillled chicken), and the grilled goat cheese sandwich. I had one of the bacon wrapped scallops, and the grilled goat cheese sandwich with the sweet tang salad as my side. The scallops were ok. The goat cheese sandwich was described to have a cilantro dressing, but I couldn't taste much cilantro at all, and they put way too much goat cheese on the sandwich. I ended up scraping off an entire side of goat cheese. The sweet tang salad was the best part, the strawberries and red onions went really well with the balsamic. I also had a beer sampler which comes with (6) 5 oz pours. The bartender ended up giving me 7 since there was another beer she wanted me to try that I hadn't requested. Very nice gesture. Would definitely come back to try other things. I wanted to give this 3.5 stars, since it's definitely above average. read more

The menu is confusing. It reminds me of one of those places that Gordon Ramsey would visit and really slim the menu down and make it cohesive. We visited early spring of 2011 and the service was atrociously bad. And I can't blame the server AT ALL. She was trying so hard, but she was the only server and was working the outdoor patio, the bar area, and the dining room. The layout of the place would have made this next to impossible so I can't even imagine how hard it must have been for her. I can however blame the management as there were two people just standing behind the bar, watching this woman flounder, and not helping at all. It took almost 2 hours for us to have dinner, and it wasn't a multi course meal. The food wasn't bad, it was actually kinda good, but we haven't been back. I'd also like to say how disappointing the upkeep being done on this place is. As we sat there, we had a lot of time to really enjoy what was once amazing architectural details. But, a lot of the upkeep and painting has been done very sloppily. Someone desperately needs to take a razor to the windows to get the paint splatters off. It would make a huge difference! The trim painting was bad as well. It's sad because this is a gorgeous old place! I'd love to see someone come in and give it the TLC it deserves! read more

Harmony Inn has a reputation. For being haunted. Luckily for me, we saw no evidence of this when we visited. We stopped by for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The dining room was empty, so we decided we eat in the bar. The bartender service was fairly entertaining. I got a buffalo chicken wrap, BJ got a hamburger. Everything was good. Nice local hangout. read more

Yup... five stars! I don't do that too often. I've been here several times over the past few years, and still can't get enough of this place. If you like German food, you have to try it. I haven't had a bad meal here. Make sure to try the potato pancakes; your cardiologist and dietitian may not like this recommendation, but you will! Pro tip: The strudel is off.the.charts! And they sell out fast. However, your waiter/waitress is usually good enough to take your dessert order when you sit down and make sure one is available for you by the time your ready for dessert. If you wait until the end of your meal to order, they may have sold them all. It's worked for me; might for you... read more

Took out of town guest here on 5/11/2022 @ 630pm. We were seated inside. It took 20 minutes to get any water/ beverages and took 70 minutes to get our dinner. Water was refilled once and the waitress did not ask one of our guest if they wanted a refill of their drink which was obviously empty. Food was marginal and french fries were cold. I asked for a box to go and never received it. We were excited to take our guest here, but were totally embarresed by the service and quality of the food. read more

Mixed feelings about this place. Was very quaint place. Wife and I went for the first time. great beer tap selection. Heavy German menu. Potato pancakes were excellen. Wife ordered the prime rib medium and it was way over done to the point that it was rubber. We mentioned it to the bartender but he didn't do or say anything. I had the kielbasa and sauerkraut which was pretty good. Had the pretze which was just the run of the mill thing, nothing special. So we are very disappointed that the prime rib was absolutely awefu. I believe we will give it one more chance and try something else. There seemed to be no manage running around to even check on tables to see how everything was. Another strike. Finally, I will tell you that I am a bourbon drinker and the pours are not very liberal. So again, we will give it one more try and comment again. For now two star. Hopeful management watches yelp. read more

I love the Brewery in Slippery Rock, so I was excited to try out another restaurant with the North Country Brewing name backing it. My friends and I came on a weekday evening to sit on the patio for happy hour. I think "quaint" is the best possible word for me to use to describe Harmony Inn. I didn't get a chance to explore too much of the interior, but it looks like it was renovated nicely and definitely maintains some of its antique charm. I am always on the hunt for 1. A good happy hour deal and 2. A good patio, and Harmony Inn boasts both. My well cocktails were just $2 during happy hour (at first I thought I misheard the waitress and assumed the drinks were $2 off, but no - they truly are just $2!). The patio is lovely. There's a small bar outside, plenty of tables, and some nice fountains and plants. There was live music on the patio on the evening we went, which added to the overall experience. I ordered the chicken salad with shallot and red wine vinaigrette to eat. I didn't expect to be wowed (I mean, how can you mess up a salad?), but I actually was pleasantly surprised! My salad was nicely portioned, the French fries on top were deliciously seasoned and crispy, and the dressing was incredible! I have to say that there weren't too many items on the menu that appealed to me since I'm not the biggest fan of German food, but I was more than happy with my salad. I do feel that the waitstaff could improve a bit; our waitress seemed a little confused on the specials and brought the wrong drinks to our table at one point. Overall, though, definitely a good first experience at Harmony Inn. If you're in the market for some affordable happy hour drink specials or can make it out for the live music, you should give Harmony Inn a try! read more

Don't let your child work here. Managers are shady and can't explain their tip-out process or why your tip-outs don't equal PA minimum wage requirements. Owners absent and should be aware that they will be responsible and fined for wage infractions. Service reviews are bad because they can't retain staff and staff they do have drive new employees away. Too bad as this use to be a nice place to showcase to clients and visiting guests. No more, spend your money elsewhere. This is why their reviews are lacking and not more than a star or two. Absent owners and unchecked managers. read more

What a beautiful venue to the eye, and a sad disappointment to the palette. I've been here three times and each time sat on the patio where I was left to serve myself and party with drinks from the bar. My steak was over cooked as was my wife's. The service was slower than their prime rib was cooked. Why not top it off with a $125.00 bill not including tip which I assured you I struggled with leaving. No thanks read more

When I heard NCB had acquired Harmony Inn, I was filled with anticipation that Harmony could sing along with Slippery Rock as having destination pubs. I have not only had my expectations fulfilled; but surpassed as this Inn has become my go-to spot in Western PA. The NCB beer selections are vetted with the ABV's and the Buck Snort Stout is my overall fave if I am going to linger enough for the strength of the stout to mellow. Be mindful of it's power, lest you count it like a "normal" Pilsner and get flummoxed by it's strength. Sausage; made with beer, by Harmony Inn's elves. They offer it in a trio with potato pancakes, kraut and traditional applesauce, sour cream and sweet horseradish stone ground mustard. It is a menu standout. Each link is distinctive with the star brew shining through a finely ground link with great snap. If I was Lady of the Inn, I would highlight these scrumptious links in several iterations on the menu. They could fill the house. I have had the opportunity to sample the appetizer menu several times now and each app that I have tasted has been really good. Stars for me were goat cheese pillows with port n berry dip. The Bezeln (pretzel) and Pilsner Fondue are also excellent bites to pair with their great beer. They do have your standard brews for the more timid beer tippers. A wide selection of specialty burgers and sammies are sure to please anyone with an appetite. A friend's steak salad brought a large dish of greens with all the right fixin's. You can't go wrong as each dish is brought from the proficient kitchen to the table by skilled staff. My last mention is for a nice selections of whiskey and whisky. A local, Strip District distillery supplied a terrific rye. Give Wigle a try. It is young, but full flavored and the water used has a tiny hint of mineral at the finish. I would buy a bottle if PA had even reasonable beverage laws. Well, a discussion for another forum. Meanwhile, I recommend Harmony Inn as a destination for any taste-o-Phile in the region. read more

DINER BEWARE! I've been coming here for years and have watched not only the food getting worse and worse but the service go from great to abysmal. This last trip was the final nail in the coffin. We went on Saturday around 1pm. The place was not to busy at the time. We were seated upstairs (4 adults / 2 toddlers). All of the adults ordered beers and appetizers. Two of us ordered flights. We waited over 30 mins for the beers. The appetizers came and were nearly done by the time we received our beers. My wife's beer did not come for an additional 15 mins after our fights were delivered ( no apology ). When we finally had the attention of our waitress to order we asked for the children's meals to come out first. My daughter had the grilled chicken. We cut it up for her and it was RAW! The waitress didn't come back to us for sometime after that so we flagged down another waiter and he got it fixed for us ( no apology from either waiter or waitress)... the chicken was delivered and we waited... and waited... and waited. While waiting, I was enjoying my flights up until I realized I was drinking from a broken flight glass. It was cracked down the side and had glass at the bottom of the beer. Luckily, our waitress was delivering food to a table we watched be seated and said she would get me another ( no apology) . We finally received (part of our meals) around 2:30 which was 1:30 mins from the time we sat down. We watched 2 other tables come and go ( no apology ). After finishing our very underwhelming meals we asked to speak to the manager. The waitress said she would get her, she never did. Instead she came back to our table with (2) $15.00 gift cards. Each of the bills were over 80$ so 15 dollars off seemed kinda weak. By this time it was around 3:30 and we all just wanted to leave. We tried to use the gift cards on the bill and the waitress informed us that they couldn't be used until the following day. At this point, we were demanding to speak with the manager and the waitress said and I quote " I'm sorry that the gift card wasn't good enough"... the manager eventually made it around to us and comped the meal but the whole experience was so over the top disappointing. There are more things that happened during that meal that I will not get into detail about because I've typed so much already. I went to slippery rock and grew up on the brewery and I can assure to anyone reading this, these places are not the same. It's a shame. Hopefully this review drives a little business elsewhere until they get better severs and staff. As you can see read more

OUTSTANDING. My husband and I had the day off and wanted to go for a ride. This place was recommended by a friend as his go to. We were blown away. This would be great for an anniversary or other celebration. We will go back. Moderately priced read more
