Seafood Combo Basket. Served with cornbread (not pictured) and two sides (not pictured).

To celebrate my graduation from law school and my birthday in tandem, my awesome brother-in-law and his lovely wife took me to this seemingly-inconspicuous eatery nestled in Harlem. We were seated immediately upon entering. Service was good. Music was a little loud as the evening wore on but I gathered it was because of a Friday night. Portions were generous and the seafood was fresh, light and well-seasoned. My sister-in-law said that they had reservations about this restaurant because they had ordered from here via pickup and it was MEH but once they tried in person, it was terrific. I concur:)

So on my visit today, 11/16/25 at 4:00 PM today I only sat in the restaurant for about 10 to 15 minutes when a manager came and asked me for my order. I told him that I wanted to barbecue ribs and shrimp combo with the Hennessy colada after he took my order I sat down for about another 7-10 minutes and my food was ready. I didn't think nothing of it. I took a few more minutes add seasoning and butter on my food. Once I was ready to eat I took a bite of the ribs and it was warm or cold like they just didn't come out from the grill or the oven. I asked for the manager I complained to him telling him I only sat down for about 10 to 15 minutes, and my food was brought to me instead of listening to what I was complaining about. He asked me do I want him to give me more food that wasn't the point I wanted to ask him why did my food come out so ready to eat and my food was still cold the only thing that was hot on the plate was the sweet potato fries the cornbread wasn't even hot. The corn was still hot. A little bit. The ribs wasn't edible. I told the manager that he came back, took my ribs and put them in the microwave. I also shared with the manager that I'm a New York State food handler and he didn't care because he said you told me to get out your face right. I said no I need your name so please give me your name please as the manager. He refused again to give me his name and kept shoving the bill in my face. Like can you just pay for your drink and leave that's not good customer service and the management needs to be looked into respectfully. I'm from Harlem New York City, born and raised, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna go somewhere we're having been born for all my life and the service of where I gonna spend my money at is not being respectful. After refusing to want any of the service, the management kept shoving the bill in my face, forcing me to pore my drink into A to go cup. I'm not belligerent rude or disrespectful, but I am disappointed.

I went on a Tuesday evening after a movie . The place was packed ! I didn't expect that for a weekday night but I soon found out why lol Happy hour is until 7 pm . Our waitress Fatima was very attentive but not over bearing which was good . I got the frozen Long Island with an extra shot the drink was delish . For dinner I ended up getting the fry chicken with Mac and collard greens . My friend got the catfish and shrimp with Mac and plantains . All the food was fresh and very tasty . I would definitely come back to try something else . The place could be a quick date night ( it's a little lively so there wasn't much chance for a deep convo ) or an after work spot ,Pop in if you're in the area and looking for a tasty bite :)

Not sure how I have never done a review on this place....if you live or work in the area not a bad spot.....nothing special to take an extra trip to come..... The food is pretty good....however when I now go I go for one item on the menu.....the honey wings...my 6 year old daughter loves them she would rate this place a 10 based on that.....and yeah the wings are pretty tasty.... I am not all into the Texas size margaritas however the ones here are pretty good and have a nice kick.....just like the nutcracker cocktail.... Look the place lacks personality.....kind of old and awkward setup....service is simply ok.....drinks pretty good....and food on point.... So my honest review is a 3.5 but according to my 6 year old it is a 10......

I love this place and so do my friends and family. The food is what you would expect from a barbecue spot- down home Southern comfort food. The portions are large and the prices are affordable. I ordered the 10 piece bonless wings in honey and mango jerk and my brother got the rib and chicken combo. We also got the Harlem Size Mango Piña Colados. The menu has its similarities to Dallas BBQ however trust and believe the food here is fresher and 100 times more flavorful. The drinks here are also much better in regards to being able to customize flavors a Harlem Size will run you around $10 and they're quite strong. The atmosphere here is lively and it just feels like you're having a good time even on Monday night.

A quintessential "urban" place near the ABCD 125th train stop. I say "urban" because I'm not sure if it's black owned, but black people attend the place regularly. The music reflects the patrons, the Large TVs have spots while the music blasts loud enough to jam to while you can still have conversation. A rustic setup with prices to match. What makes it a specialty are the frozen drinks that flow at a nice price, especially if it's Happy Hour. Want a Hennycolada without going to City Island?! This is your place!

There's a camaraderie in the room that invites you to slow down, connect, and truly experience both the conversation and the food. Everything feels considered. My best friend and I each ordered the prix fixe menu, and it was a journey from start to finish. I began with the Spicy Corn & Coconut Soup--honestly, unforgettable. The crispy shallots added just the right amount of texture against the velvety base, and each spoonful layered flavor in a way that felt both comforting and elevated. For my main, I had the kichuri, and Chef Alex Guzman absolutely shines here. He is a star--full stop. There's a clarity and confidence in his cooking that you can taste. The cilantro chutney was perfection, and the way the mint lingers alongside the spice... it's the kind of balance that only comes from someone who truly understands their craft. You can feel his care in every bite. I ended with the key lime pie, and all I can say is thank you. The whipped cream was fresh and airy, the lime zest bright without overpowering, and the crust tied everything together beautifully. It felt like a thoughtful, intentional close to an already incredible meal. I highly recommend starting with the guava mocktail, then pairing your main with the fig mocktail--both are perfectly crafted and complement the dishes so well. Also, sit at the bar. Let Dan guide you through the experience. Trust his recommendations--you will not be steered wrong. He elevates the entire evening. And the playlist? Y'all really did that.

Last - just my opinion - I don't think the ingredients in both appetizers worked well together. I didn't enjoy either of them. Codfish fritters: disappointing. A very small serving of fritters that tastes like they had very little cod in them. They were more doughy than fishy. Branzino: although the fish was delicate and cooked perfectly, I wasn't a fan of the butter peri-peri sauce, which I found (again) lacking flavor. Hot honey fried: this was a solid dish, and the batter was sweet, spicy and crunchy as advertised. Overall, after reading the reviews my expectations were high.
