We started with crab and spinach dip, as we were doing a citywide comparison of crab dips, and it was yummy, but not really comparable because of the spinach. We also tried the grilled artichokes and the PEI Mussels and both were delicious. Main courses of Seared Salmon and Ahi Tuna were very good. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. She was also super understanding of our two under-7 guests and their needs. The cherries in the Shirley Temples were monstrous! Cake was shared by all and was delicious.

It was so mouth watering with the butter !! This is a must-get ! Crab dip 7/10: Wish there were more things to dip into it. Hack: put the crab dip on the cornbread. That was a game changer. This gentleman loves working at Fish Hawk's-- you can just tell by his attitude and smile. If the employees are happy-- that says everything to me. The atmosphere is so light, airy and beachy but not in a tacky way. There is so much natural light-- what a bonus. My husband and I sat at the bar and took our time in ordering drinks and food. We did not feel rushed -- in fact-- we had a lovely chat with the owner, Irish. The bartenders were not hovering but were very attentive to us. We grazed on a few apps which were outstanding -- I wish we hadn't eaten lunch so late-- I wanted to eat more. Coming to Dewey for close to 40 years, I was thrilled to experience this newly opened restaurant/bar with a wee bit more upscale atmosphere vs a regular bar/pub vibe. I hope this "gem" sparkles for you as well.

Fish Hawk's is located on a strip of road better known for its 'surf city' vibe whereas Fish Hawk's reminded me of locations at the Jersey Shore in Margate or Asbury Park. The service and welcome were top notch. Every individual who spoke with us was smiling and friendly but we didn't have many questions since the menu is rather limited. The bar seemed well stocked but we came to eat and discover all that Fish Hawk's has to offer (Somehow social media they shared had reached us nudging our curiosity buttons.). We aren't drinkers so we cannot enter the Old Fashioned debate but there clearly are reasonably priced drinks in addition to a special drink that the menu points out. Our choices were the Roasted Corn flatbread and "Ozzy's Special." Ok, I immediately had to Google snakehead fish from which Ozzy's Special is focused on. It is an invasive fish that has taken over some Delaware waterways but it is edible ... a white mild fish, which our waitress confirmed. So, by eating snakehead we are helping the environment and therefore I felt good about my choice. That dead snakehead came with chips so I decided to add a side of "patatas bravas" which we were told were special. The flatbread was good, a nice afternoon treat with plenty of flavor. Other than helping the environment, Ozzy's Special was an ok fish sandwich with a decent slaw on top that was the best part of the sandwich; I don't think I'd order it again and would go for a flatbread or maybe the Crab Roll. AS for the Patatas Bravas ... they looked lovely and really appealing in the small cast iron pan but they were majorly UNDERCOOKED/UNDER ROASTED which took away from their potential (This may have been caused by rushing them out since they were forgotten when our order was delivered to the table.). As we were leaving Fish Hawk's was filling up with Happy Hour folks who seemed happy to be here and there were lots of interaction with the bar whose tender never stopped smiling. I wish there were more options to eat but this is truly an escape from some of the more "rustic" Dewey Beach locations for anyone seeking to share a few cocktails ... but that's not us.

They texted us and the text provided a wait list showing what place we were in the queue, and much was pretty nice. For the appetizer, we got the Crab Spinach Dip, which was odd in and of itself because the menu says it has artichokes but doesn't mention spinach. It came with chips and was very tasty. I must admit I was a little disappointed in the portion. The bowl of dip was not full and while the chips did cover the amount of dip, it wasn't very much. For dinner, I got the Fish & Chips, Fries and Cole Slaw. It wasn't bad. Not the best I've ever had, but not bad. I'd probably try something else next time. My wife got the Crab Imperial, which was very good. She also got a Bloody Mary to go with her meal. My son got the Big Shrimp with Saffron rice and broccoli, which was very good. Our friend got the Big Chicken with what looked like pureed Yams. He thought it was decent. The highlight was the dessert, which was the Double Chocolate Cake and a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream. We really enjoyed it. Our wait staff did a decent job as well. We will definitely be back.

I always appreciate when a business gives me insight like this. We promptly received our drinks and were informed of the specials, which all sounded delicious. We put in our order, and we barely noticed a delay in our food coming out. (But nonetheless we appreciated the heads-up!) I had the short ribs, and they were incredible. They were falling off of my fork because they were so tender! The mashed potatoes served with them were also great. The rest of our party ordered seafood, and everyone in the group raved about how good their dishes were. My only regret was that none of us saved room for dessert! Something that also truly stuck out to me: one of the managers noticed my grandma was cold and adjusted the temperature in the room in which we were seated. I know this isn't standard practice at restaurants, but I can't say enough how much it meant to us that the staff paid so much attention to us. Seaside Fish House is DEFINITELY on my permanent list of favorite places in Delaware now.

The love starts in the menu, it's inventive and focused on high quality local ingredients (the fish special was caught the day prior right in Ocean City). The crab cakes were a different spin on the typical lump crab cakes in the region, they had a little more filler but were packed with flavor and a little heat. The deviled eggs were elevated by using pickled eggs (sounds weird but tastes amazing). The Oysters Rockefeller were the best I've had (it's one of my favorite dishes so I order them from a lot of restaurants). The service is warm, we visited a few times so far. The first few times were in the opening weeks so the restaurant was not very busy so we got a lot of attention. We recently visited over Labor Day weekend and the restaurant was packed. But the service still had the same warmth even though you could see they were slammed. The owner/chef came out frequently to help and check in on guests. Everyone truly cared about the guest experience. The decor is cute and coastal, simple but well done. Happy hour is one of the best bargains near the beach and the HH menu is simple but impressive- tacos, ceviche, charred scallion hummus (so good). We just may become regulars here.
