It was my first time kayaking in costal waters but I felt very comfortable with our guide. She was very familiar with the waterways and educated on the local wildlife. The tour was amazing! We had perfect weather, calm water, and several site points. It was cool seeing the pluff mud marshes up close! Please note: COA is located off Folly Rd which happens to be a main road to Folly Beach. Thankfully I did the 9:00am slot, because there was bumper to bumper traffic along Folly Rd by the time the tour ended around 11:30pm.

We did the tour out to Morris Island and our crew took excellent care of us- Aaron gave us some…read morehistory as we passed boats docked, the sailboat junk-harbor, historic info on the Battery and some of the houses. As well as insight to the storms that have beat well over that seawall. Some interesting info about the civil war and who really fired the first shot... rebels. It really was a nice ride out to the island and then we were off the boat following the shark teeth finding expert- who I can't remember his name. I found a small amount of teeth- but I did find a megalodon tooth! Not fully intact- but STILL- how cool. I also murdered my cell phone- don't ask. I found a keyhole sea urchin (something most people think are sand-dollars) and a couple shells to keep. 90 minutes on island flew by and we were back on the boat in shade enjoying the wind as we returned. The purpose of our trip to Charleston was to take my cancerous dog Charlie to enjoy beach run one more time. Given that most of the beaches require dogs on leash, a visit to Morris Island (which is uninhabited and only accessible by boat ) quickly got on our wish list. Unfortunately because one of my 3 dogs on this trip has small dog syndrome and couldn't stop barking at the other well-behaved dog brought by other passengers on the boat, we decided to leave the tour so that we don't spoil other people's fun. For his love of dogs, Captain Howard graciously offered to make a special arrangement for us. He asked us to come back the next day and had Captain Aaron taken us (just us!) on a 3-hour trip to Morris Island. I thought the private tour was gonna cost us an arm and a leg, but he charged us regular tour price per person for two (and dogs for free). Captain Aaron was informative and friendly. In addition to the fun facts and history, he told us where to go on high tide when we got to the island. Charlie and my other two dogs were overjoyed when they realized they could run free on the island!! They ran in and out of water, played fetch on the beach, and enjoyed the rare sunshiny day. Captain Howard was absolutely right--Morris Island is truly Disney World for dogs! We had three exhausted but very happy dogs by the end of the visit. More importantly, it meant a lot to me to check running freely on beach off Charlie's bucket list. From a dog lover to another dog lover, I thank Captain Howard for his kindness. I highly recommend Adventure Harbor Tours. It is a tour company full of fun and heart!

Though tickets are usually $35, ladies get…read more$15 off for this sail, which is 2 hours and includes complimentary bottled water, sodas, snacks (chips&salsa, mini taco things, cookies), and margaritas! They also have a cash bar for beer and wine. The staff (only 2 of them) were fun and upbeat. Of course when you're on a catamaran with 20-100 people and only one person is serving margaritas from a beverage cooler, it's gonna be slow-going, but after the initial line weans down its easy to get a drink (until it runs out...which it did less than halfway through the trip)! Because of that, the captain took $2 of the price of Pinot Grigio...nice, but not the same as complimentary margaritas. The best part was climbing up top with my girl friends to sit near the sails! The different view and having to duck when they jived the sails made it more unique. Though it was raining in other parts of Charleston all day, we got lucky with nice, cool weather (though light cloud coverage did block the sunset a bit). We definitely want to come back in the future! The Palmetto Breeze takes off from Red's on Shem Creek at 6:30 (when the dolphins are OUT). It's probably best to buy your tickets online before the day of the event, but we were able to snag some spaces/pay the captain on the dock. Oh, and don't forget to take a picture behind the captains wheel and blow the conch shell.

Unless you're a bigger party, I recommend paying the extra amount for a private window seat for 2 otherwise you'd be seated with strangers. It comes with a 4 course meal, and there's a bar on the boat but that's extra. We were shown to our seats right when we boarded and then Kevin was our waiter, super nice. We departed at 7pm and Kevin let us know our first meal would be arriving around 7:30 so we had time to go up to the observation deck. It was very windy but it was still cool to see us leave port and go out to the Charleston Harbor which was nice. There's a covered area in the back and then it's open at the front and that was definitely windy. The meals were so good, we honestly said the food was probably the best food we had on our whole trip! It started off with a she crab soup which was yummy. Second meal was a salad with sweet salad dressing that was also great. Third meal you got to pick your entree, I did the braised short rib that came with mashed potatoes and green beans. My husband did the grilled salmon with same sides. Both were absolutely delicious. I could've eaten it all but wanted to save room for dessert. I did the chocolate torte and my husband did the cheesecake, again so delicious. We also added the bubbly package which was an extra $35 but since it was a special occasion it was worth it. There was live music the whole time too. A guitarist who played really great songs. Overall, highly recommend!

So here in Charleston SC for wifey's family Reunion, so tonight was the first event a Dinner Cruise…read moreon the Spirit line Dinner-cruise it's a tour around the Charleston harbor for 2 1/2 hours. . We were a party of 22 & for this size group everything went off without a glitch, there were 3 tables set up for us. Our server Barbara was so nice and hospitable and very welcoming and knowledgeable. She explained how this would go. 7:15 we will serve the bread, at 7:30 they will serve the first course a She-crab soup, ohh so good with a kick of cayenne delicious, oh by the way Barbara asked our table "who would like more soup we all said yes except wifey she's watching her salt intake and weight. next 2nd course cranberry almond kale Prosecco vinaigrette excellent, also saw into kitchen how each salad was prepped and dressed. Then we were told after the 2nd course there would be a 15-20 minute break for us to go take in the view and atmosphere of our sailing. Then we all received our entrees. My wife had the Braised Beef Short-ribs served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The beef was so tender if there was a bone it would have fallen off of it. I couldn't come to Charleston and not try the shrimp and grits which had andouille sausage and country ham. If you don't like spicy do not order this.. fortunately I Love spicy. Delicious is all I can say. Dessert is not included however you can purchase a slice of cheesecake or flourless chocolate torte. Wifey is a dessert person me not so much, the cheesecake was light and very tasty now I'm not a dessert person but that chocolate torte tasty however too chocolatey for my taste buds. Beautiful evening view of the sunset and the Ravenel bridge. This bridge connects Downtown Charleston to mount Pleasant.
