We loved our harbor tour! Captain Travis and his crew were great. The boat/ship was very comfortable and the sound system was good. It was a fun way to learn about the history of Charleston. Information on all the beaches, parks, and forts including Fort Sumpter. We also learned about the Inter Coastal Waterway - I didn't know that during World War II they moved ship, troops, and supplies back and forth to avoid the German U boats cruising the shoreline of Atlantic Ocean. We also saw the Patriot Museum and the USS Yorktown plus many planes. Bonus were the dolphins playing in the harbor and the baby rays near the dock.

I did not use the services on board the boat, so I am not going to rate that part. As for the ride itself, from start to finish, it was a great experience. If the weather is cool, do dress appropriately. Sure, you could stay inside on the voyage, but where is the fun in that? It is going to get windy out there! The captain gave a wonderful narration during the journey. We got great views of the interesting sights one can see from the water. Some of them modern, like Bill Murray's house, and some of them older, like Fort Sumter, where bombardment started on April 12, 1861 marking the beginning of the American Civil War. Pirate stories, to modern bridges and car shipments from local manufacturing. All are a part of Charleston you are not going to see just walking around town.

Captain Travis was amazing. He greeted every passenger upon boarding the Belle. As we toured the harbor, the history he shared over the sound system was easily heard and informative. The crew was helpful, and outgoing. Many great sights to see, and the vessel didn't even feel like it was underway. Smooth voyage. Great views from the top deck, to the widow enclosed main deck below. Restrooms clean and easily accessible. FYI all of my pictures are from a cell phone as I forgot my camera. So a real camera would get amazing pictures.

I do enjoy a good boat tour whenever possible. While doing my research, this company had various tour and great reviews. So I decided to reserve the tour via Viator, which is very user friendly plus, I earn my AA miles. We had opted to do the Historic Charleston Harbor Tour (Sunset Tour) beginning at 5:45pm on the Carolina Bell. The check-in process was very easy. The attendant just scanned the tickets then we were able to select our seats. We had grab three seats in the front of the boat and to the right. The boat has two level with an interior and an exterior. There's also a concession bar to purchase snacks and beverages. The prices were reasonable. Since I check in on Yelp, I received a complimentary snack. Beginning of the 90 minute tour, the Captain did go over the safety rules. From there, we were off. The tour was very informative with the history of the city to the modern day. The crew would answer any questions as they come up. I would highly recommend this cruise and company.

I love Charleston Harbor Tours. Their entire staff is amazing! Everyone from the office/booking team to the captain and crew helped cultivate an experience that will have me bringing more friends and family here! I originally booked the day tour but the staff called to let me know they needed to move me to the sunset sail. Kathy was so incredible and helpful. On board they had a great selection of beverages (for purchase) and we were able to help hoist the sails, something so incredible for me to get to see my dad do. Any time we had questions about our surrounding the team had great information, so even though it wasn't a guided tour it was super informative! 10/10 will book again

(He had red hair but I can't remember his name). He was entertaining with a few jokes here and there and very knowledgeable about the area. He answered questions along the way. It's interesting how the city manages the tours. We rode to a city station and they gave us a card which indicated which area we had to take. Each guide has some freedom in which route they take through the designated area. All of this means is that you could take the tour multiple times and see different things each time. You don't get a choice in where you sit but our group of two got the front seats. Great for unobstructed views but not so good when your nose fills with a whiff of what's in the horse diaper. Traffic and the carriage rides seem to get along well. The horses are well tended to and are rotated from the stables to pasture on a regular basis. We thank Cliff our horse for a fun smooth ride.

During my first visit to Charleston a few years ago, I took one of their daytime carriage tours and left feeling... underwhelmed. I didn't learn all that much, the tour wasn't especially memorable, and I wrote that I'd rather have explored the city on foot. Fast forward to my most recent visit when one of my friends wanted to do the Haunted Carriage Tour. Since it was something different, I happily went along and I'm glad I did. Our horse, Ron, was a 2,000 pound French Percheron and wow.... talk about a workhorse! From what I observed, the horses seemed well cared for despite the small stable. It was fun learning a little about Ron before we set off. Our guide, Matt, was informative, engaging, and did a great job mixing Charleston history with the haunted stories. While I'm not really into ghost tours, I still learned quite a bit. In fact, my favorite takeaway wasn't haunted at all - it was learning the difference between a graveyard and a cemetery. This tour also had a digital component as we were prompted to scan the QR code to see photos of the individuals/"ghosts" he was talking about. The tour also gave us another opportunity to see Charleston from a different perspective and this time around I enjoyed riding through the historic streets by carriage. Overall, this experience was much more enjoyable than my first. The company clearly has these tours down to a science and if you're deciding between a daytime tour and the haunted evening tour, I'd surprisingly recommend the latter. I'm glad I gave Old South another chance.

The walking tour is very pleasant and truly interesting, and the lunch that follows is absolutely amazing. The menu changes with the season and is always made with nothing but local ingredients. This time we started with a delicious Butternut Squash soup followed by Shrimp and Grits. Now, this one of my favorite dishes and I've never tasted better. We finished with bread pudding made from Krispy Kreme doughnuts?? Shut the front door! My wife and I would do this again and again. This a must do, and we highly recommend you put it on your list!

Walked for about an hour through historical places and ended up at the Azur restaurant. Tip: Pack a bottle of water for the walk - or you can purchase a drink near the beginning of the walking tour at a coffee shop. We take food tours everywhere we travel and this one was the best, hands down!

They were mainly things I probably would not order so it was fun to taste new things. The portions were just right too! Our group had 14 people but Michael did a nice job of sharing his knowledge and explaining what we were eating on both sides of the table so we all were included on the information. Our 3rd stop was a chicken quesadilla and tortilla chips with salsa and queso. I would never call that a "culinary experience". The mussels on the first stop was good but it was shared and some people are gross. A woman I was sharing with used the fork she ate off of to pick mussels out of our shared bowl AND double dipped her bread in the mussel juice. Individual small portions would've been better especially considering I traveled alone. I chose this company because it was local, when I typically use the same one, thinking it would've been the best. I was fooled. This was my least favorite food tour of all my travels.
