There is a lot to like about visiting. My interactions with staff were all very positive. How nice and personable staff were really stood out for me and my kid. We came on a slow Sunday afternoon so parking was decently easy at the garage across the street. Since this was my first time everything was fun to see for the first time. We loved the otters, the large tank with mermaids, and the touch tank. My kid also loved the indoor playground which we spent a good deal of time at. I really love the blend of semi-outdoor areas and the sundeck area. I really loved the variety of fish and animals. It was also really cool to see the snowy white barn owl downstairs. I am not sure how I would feel had I bought tickets to visit and it will also be interesting to see how often animals change which makes multiple visits fun and interesting.

I'm not sure if they actually turn walk-ups away or not. We had to wait to get up close to some displays but not for too long. I guess that's to be expected on a Saturday. The touch pools and sting ray feeding areas were fun. There was a nice selection of fish, turtles and the river otters were adorable. It took us less than 1.5 hours to get through the whole thing, and that was taking our time. I guess that's what made it a little underwhelming. Probably wouldn't spend $80 to do it again.

The staff is helpful and friendly and they have a variety of ceramics to choose from to paint. They also have options for painting canvases and creating glass art, which I haven't tried yet. I like the new location, which now has a space in the back with booths, etc for a quieter experience or for a group that needs a little more space to work. The only thing that threw me off was that there are a few different spots that have the ceramic options to paint, but they are on opposite side of the room, etc. So after browsing & selecting an item to paint, I happened to see another display on the other wall with items to choose from, but didn't notice them until after the fact. It would be a little easier to see all of my options in one area, but I also understand that people need the space to browse without being too crowded. I like being able to do something "artistic" without having a plan or following instructions. It might not always look the best, but I always have fun doing it!

When entering, you walk into the ticket area/gift shop and it's pretty much a straight shot down and then turn back around to go back through the rooms to exit. I wish we could have spent more time at the museum, but we had to leave after about an hour and a half because of our one year olds nap. We could have easily spent the better part of the day there playing! It's priced on the higher end in my opinion, but it is a nice place. Recommend to visitors with littles!
