Surprising this is one of the only mini golf locations in the area. So we arrived at opening on a Sunday and played a round. It got crowded quickly but there was also a birthday party going on. We were looking for some fun in the evening in Charleston, so we looked around and found Charleston Fun Park. It's a locally owned and small business. Since we went in the evening, we couldn't do the VR or go-karting, but we still had a great time playing different arcade games like air hockey and bowling. Kids had a really fun time! They have arcade games, VR area and bumper cars (don't know if that was open), axe throwing, mini golf ($12/person), and go karts. Employees were all around, cleaning the machines and being helpful with questions. One machine malfunctioned, but still took the money. We were reimbursed for that! Popcorn was soooo salty (bleh) they have to lay off of the Morton's! Dippin dots, soft pretzels, and hot dogs. They have a wide selection of mini wines and canned beer. Out of the places we have played mini golf and rode go-carts, this place is 10/10: cost and ride around the track is reasonable and the mini golf course is not easy, which makes the night fun. Took my nephew here today for his first time riding go carts. The staff was the highlight of the trip they went above and beyond to make it the best experience for him. Aidan at the go carts was one of the nicest most caring people I've come across! I took my five year old son here to play some video games and hopefully win some cool prizes. The go karts were not working and many of the machines were down due to a remodel. We still found some games to play and the little guy had a good time, had all three games been working this would have been a five star experience. Too expensive for what you get. $36 dollars for three people to play mini golf was a lot for the quality of the course. I've played better places for much less in Myrtle Beach. Captive audience I guess since there wasn't a lot of competition. We would have gone a second time, but couldn't justify the expense. read more

We always have great time here. We have a family tradition to play miniature golf almost everywhere we travel/visit. CFP is our go-to in the Charleston area. The staff do a great job and the place is always clean. It's not just for the kids either. Our kids are grown so my wife and I usually make this part of our date nights. Before paying for any inside or outside attractions/activities, make sure they are working and there is an attendant to run the attraction or activity. After paying $171 for 3 $50 passes, we discovered that the only inside activity that was working was the $3 a game mini bowling. The bumper cars and the VR sitting ride were no working. We should have just paid for the $3 a game mini bowling. We would have saved a lot of money. When we were charged $171 for the 3 $50 passes, I asked the girl why we were charged $21 in taxes when S.C. tax is only 9%. She say she gets asked that a lot but couldn't explain why. Several of the games were either not working properly or were out of order. A different girl added a few dollars to our game card for the games that weren't out of order but took our money without letting my daughter play. Not sure if this is normal or if it's because of the time of day we were there but the food/drink concessions area was closed. The putt putt area was pretty good. There is colored bright blue water around and on some of the holes. It's very pretty but attracted mosquitoes. I left with 8 mosquito bites. My husband and son didn't have any. Mini-golf review The good: Price is reasonable, and there is obviously a lot more to do than just the mini golf (arcade, go karts, VR, etc.). We found out too late, but it seems like you can buy adult drinks and take them on the courses. The hole difficulty wasn't too high, allowing everyone to enjoy. They have someone come and leaf-blow the courses so that there aren't a lot of twigs/leaves on them. The not-so-good: The holes' water features didn't have any water in them, which really takes away from the ambience. There was also a lack of creativity in the holes' designs - it felt like there were only minor variations between them. The final holes for the two courses are very underwhelming and ruined my chances of winning in our group (they are scee-ball-esque) read more

Charleston Fun Park has fun for everyone! They have put put, axe throwing, an arcade, mini bowling, and a virtual reality coaster. We did two rounds of put put. The prices are reasonable...they had an online special for 50% off. The courses aren't big but they are fun! They have bug spray by the register to help combat the mosquitos. We also did the virtual reality coaster which was so much more fun than I expected it to be! Overall, we had a good time and I would return. read more

Whether or not you enjoy Charleston Fun Park has everything to do with who, and why you're going. Yes, the arcade is not what you remember as a child -- these are money harvesters that somehow lure you into spending twenty dollars on small dopamine hits that you get tickets for that you can use to purchase dollar store items for dollars on the penny. And to add insult to injury some of the machines you want to play on are broken, or so incomprehensible that you won't enjoy yourself. Inside it's noisy, like a run down, downtown Vegas casino, combined with the sheer madness of a classroom on a May afternoon a week before school lets out for summer. So the arcade is not the place you'd bring a date on a quiet evening, or a place that you would go, as a grownup, to actually enjoy yourself. But you really should have thought about that before you decided to have children. You're a parent now, and if you want to experience joy, it either needs to be either planned weeks in advance, or through the eyes of a child. Looking at the arcade through the eyes of a child though, I feel like this is the closest a 10 year old can get to an early 2000s Seth Rogan movie. They're having a blast, getting those little bumps of excitement from the 30 seconds of space invaders on the big screen, or trying to knock down those infuriating clowns with a softball. It's all good, as long as you understand, *this is not for you. This is for children.* *IF* you can make it through the money trap that is the arcade, to the other activities, you're bound to have a good time. The GoKarts are a ton of fun and both grown ups and kids can ride. The mini golf courses (that's plural) are lots of fun, well designed and well maintained. And while I've not done the axe throwing because, well, I'm not the most graceful or patient of parents, I can imagine having a good time with it under the right circumstance. I wish this place did have a little bit better food option for grownups. Even just a decent seating area so that I could stare at my phone and hide in social media doom scrolling rather than face the dark consequence that I'm in a prep-room for my kids' gambling addiction would be useful. But I kid. Kind of. It's a fun place. For children. If you're looking to make it so your kids have a good time, you can't go wrong with this. Unless you expect to have a good time, too. read more

Two teen guys working here were rude to my face after asking for a refund for the axe throwing. the lanes were not prepared well with the boards being chewed up and they gave us dull axes so nothing was sticking. After asking for the refund they went out themselves with sharper axes and "proved" me wrong. I really don't enjoy being disrespected and don't wanna pay $15 for a round of axe throwing that isn't at all enjoyable. read more

This place is good, and I almost gave this 5 stars because it is by far the best choice for places like this in the area. But I had a few issues, nothing major. First of all this place seems to be ran by people under the age of 20 which is kind of weird. I didn't see any employees who looked older than that. Secondly, we came her specifically to play mini golf. They have 2 different courses that are side by side. We played the right one, don't remember what it was called. But I do know what it should have been called. The perfect name that comes to mind is "Mosquito Alley." And I know that in general the Charleston area is absolutely infested with them at every turn but this place was a little worse for some reason. They even provide some bug spray at the counter when you're picking out your ball and club. Overall I thought the activities they provide at this place were good and fun for people of all ages, even though we only did the mini golf. How did I not know about this place before? We came here to celebrate my sons birthday, but it's almost like a Dave n Busters for adults too. The first thing I noticed when walking in was the 20' tall claw grab machine. It's $2 for an attempt, and I was sure that I snagged a Pokémon plush animal, but alas, the claw was weak and my kung-fu was not strong enough. Also inside were bowling lanes, three different VR games, and enough arcades to bring out the kid in everyone. Just expect to drop some money when you come here. Outside, they have mini-golf and go-cart racing. We did the go-carts three times, and luckily the kid supervising was a little flexible with the rules, because we may have broken one or two of them. I took the kids here over Christmas break and we had a blast. It was not crowded so that was nice. We mostly stayed inside (next time we will do the mini golf because the course is pretty awesome). Since I hadn't been here I had some questions and the staff was so nice and helpful. One man, maybe the owner?, even gave my kids extra tickets so they could have an even amount and he waited patiently while they took what seemed like forever to pick their prizes. It's fun but very outdated. The bumper carts were fun but extremely dirty and left black stuff all over my pants. We did the mini golf as well, the courses were filled with leaves and debris and by the time it got dark there was hardly any lighting we resorted to using our phone flash lights. Great place for a nice day outside. We played 1 round of mini golf. 18 holes provided my son and I with a mini adventure learning about the Pirate Blackbeard and practicing our putting skills. There were 2 holes that had water traps but we were able to save his ball and continue. I believe there are 2 courses. There is also indoor arcade games, outdoor go carts, and I believe a climbing wall that I wasn't looking for. I did notice that both the golf and go carts was $9 per person. read more

Went here last weekend to play mini golf with my husband. The courses are good and it wasn't so busy you felt rushed through each hole. Staff was also very friendly. Only complaint we had was that they don't seem to clean off the greens very well. Lots of leaves and debris that get in the way of playing. Came here last week while my niece and nephews were in town. Due to the rain, the beach and pool were not an option, so we decided to go bowling that evening. We found out the hard way that when it rains, EVERYONE goes bowling. There was a 2 hour wait and it was already getting late for the kids. The rain had stopped so to redeem myself as fun-uncle, I suggested mini-golf at Blackbeard's. It wasn't too busy there considering it was a wet Thursday evening. Golf was $7 a head and the little guy (3 y.o.) was free. We also had a couple coupons which made two of us free as well. The moment we stepped on the course it started drizzling but we figured, how can you take the mini golf away now. We figured even if we couldn't play a full round it would still be worth it. We were right! The rain came down a little harder but we just kept playing. Not till the last hole did the skies really open up. It make for a fun experience and the kids didn't mind one bit. Afterwards we went inside and played some of the arcade games. All the games looked pretty new and all worked properly. They have a swipe card system that was easy enough and even stores any earned tickets on it. The staff were all very nice and patient with the kids. You know how things can get when it comes time to redeem tickets. I look forward to coming back on a nice day and try out the Go-Karts or Paintball. read more

Charleston Fun Park (formally Blackbeard's Cove) has seen much better days. I say this from experience since I had the pleasure of visiting when it was Blackbeard's Cove and again more recently since it has become Charleston Fun Park. It seems that they just took a new name and slapped it over the old, but forgot to do any renovations or improvements or cleaning to the newly named kiddie attraction. As a matter of fact the old name is still on many of the arcade games here. But instead of fun park, it should be called money pit; because you're gonna spend a LOT of money here. This simple little arcade can be very expensive if you are you participating in some of their activities like the bumper cars, go karts, or virtual roller coaster. I do like all the arcade games here and the putt putt golf course. The claw machines here are super rigged; never before have I witnessed so many feeble claws that could not even move a stuffed animal. They have a rock climbing wall as well here, but we haven't tried that yet. Anyway, our last visit we purchased a $50 game card that gave us an extra $5 credit and our 2 year old spent all that within an hour. She did rack up close to 1000 tickets that she was able to trade in for a "Stacy" doll that immediately fell apart after being removed from the package; it was made out of super cheap and thin plastic. Pretty disappointed by the other selections she had to choose from as well. But my biggest complaint about Charleston Fun Park is not the park itself, but the other parents that were there. They were so inconsiderate and would break in front of a 2 year old to get to the toy counter or to a game with no remorse. Pretty much there was a bunch of D-bag adults there. Took the kids here to kill some time a few months ago. We haven't been back since even though we live close. They were most interested in go-karts and there aren't many options in the area. The carts were poorly maintained and the burning oil from the other cars was enough to make my eyes and nose burn. The track was so dirty the kids and I were covered in dirt and crap. I recently had 2 great experiences at Charleston Fun Park. I took my class here for field trips this summer and everything was fun and very well organized. When contacting them to set up our visits, I communicated with Brian and Rachel, and both of them were helpful, accommodating, and prompt with their communication. The park typically opens at 11, but they offered to open at 10 for us to work with our tighter schedule. When we got there, they were patient with my young students and helped us get ready for golf. When we came in for lunch and activities, the table was already set with our plates, drinks, and pizza. There was no waiting around at all. They were also very helpful with the rides and other activities, as we did not use their usual token "cards" to pay for the experiences. The golf courses are fun, challenging, and well maintained. I will definitely come back to CFP and will recommend this place...for adults and kids, alike! read more
