If you're into tasty seafood, Harbor Mist is a nice little gem that's close to the water and offers up a solid menu! We went for Sunday brunch and were treated to wonderful two course prix fixe menu that came with unlimited mimosas, sangrias (red & white), and bloody Mary's for $35pp. You can order a la carte as well, but depending on what you order, an app and an entree might run you close to or even above the $35, so it definitely pays to get the prix fixe in that case. I ordered the tuna tacos and the crab meat duet, and both were fantastic! Portion size was just right and both dishes were colorful and tastefully presented. Visited for lunch on a Monday, very quiet but we still received top notch service and food presentation and quality was terrific! Started with New England Clam which was brothy creamy and delicious. I ordered tuna tacos which was 4 and they were zesty and spicy not hot! My wife ordered traditional Fish and Chips which was an enormous portion of cod, I believe, fries, cole slaw and tartar which would have been plenty for 2! Food is definitely a 5 I can't take any demerits from there. Lose a star because of no changing table in the men's room. I don't think that's fair. If I wanted to change my son I couldn't do it. If I can give it more stars I would. I can't tell you how many years I have been coming here and how many years I have my Halloween Party and Christmas Party. They just never make a mistake. They always work with me and my ideas of changing everything that is on their catering menu, and I am not talking huge parties I am talking 20 people but I am still always treated like I am giving a huge affair and its important to them to hear what I have to say. I 'm glad it seems like they have the parking lot back open ( they had a tent there since Covid) because it can get a little dangerous at night to have to walk along 25A but it would never stop me from going it is by far my favorite place on long Island. We came here after a walk at Caumsett Park and we were very impressed! We only ordered appetizers, thai calamari and the baked clams with a Blue Moon and IPA. The food was fantastic! Came for grandma's bday last month. We were seated immediately which was great. And greeted by the bartender - who was so sweet. The drinks were meh. Paloma was basically a watered down lemon water. The mussels were dirty and not fresh at all. The clam chowder, however, some of the best I've ever had. Just incredibly good. Ordered the stuffed lobster. Quite possibly the worst dish I have ever allowed on my plate. The "shrimp and crab stuffing" was grocery store shrimp salad. Incredibly disgusting. The lobster itself was decent - but they only gave us claws and two bites of a tail. A disappointment all around for this dish. And not worth the $75. Service was lovely. But the food is trash. Great food with great atmosphere . Amazing view from upstairs dining room of the harbor. Flat bread and hummus are served as you are seated. The fish is always fresh . Great seasoning on everything they make. Vegetables are cooked correctly, not mushy or slimy. The burger and steak fries on the lunch menu is excellent. Portions are more than adequate so I alway leave with take home food. They also run special pricing deals from time to time (30% off) so ask server or check web site. We were seated by the window on the 2nd floor, and the views are wonderful. Our waitress was efficient, kind, and delightful. Her recommendations were spot on. Orders: Blue point oysters - fabulous. Must order when ever visiting this restaurant again. Chicken piccata and mushroom risotto - chicken was slightly dry but risotto was delicious. My workmates seemed to enjoy the flounder and scallop dishes. Rum cake for dessert - Good, but I'm not much of a dessert guy. Waiters kept our drinks re-filled. The decor and ambience is very nice and classy without being overdone. I though the place would be a bit more casual and have a more expansive menu. I felt that the menu was a bit restricted. The steamed mussels in white sauce was fabulous, the mussels were extremely fresh and juicy. They also bring out hummus and bread, the hummus is flavorful and authentic but the bread is a strange pairing. I got the cajun blackened chicken burger, it wasn't anything special and the spices were more middle eastern than cajun. My dad got a burger and it was also average. read more

I haven't been here since Covid and just came here with a group of four, we spent $400 with lobster & drinks. I paid the bill, I came home and by chance I checked the bill and there was a credit card surcharge of $10 on it. In researching it there is nowhere on the website or the menu that says that there is a credit card surcharge. The waitress never mentioned this surcharge to us and how do they know that we are not paying by cash when they give us the check. What is going to happen next are they going to surcharge us for electricity? Credit cards are part of doing business and should be figured out in their overall cost. Credit card fees have not gone up since Covid so why are they all of a sudden charging us a surcharge? This whole nickel and dimed by the owner has put a bad taste in my mouth and we will not be coming back. read more

We chose this restaurant based on a recommendation. It was a bit of a drive from our hotel, probably a half an hour. Seems to be located in a very nice area across from the water. We were super hungry because we had a late lunch so we didn't order any appetizers. I had the filet mignon with fingerling potatoes and grilled broccoli and my partner had seared tuna. Both of our entrées were excellent. I ordered my filet mignon, medium rare and that's the way it came. It was perfect and tasted excellent. The salad was average and the lobster roll was the worst I've ever eaten on LI. It was the worst part of the lobster, in tiny bits and no chucks, and seasoned with Cajun type seasoning. We came for my husband's bday- a large group of us. They offered inside and outdoor seating Options. We sat upstairs with beautiful views of the water. When you first sit, they bring fresh hummus with bread and little bruschetta as (!!!! The best!!). We started with salads- very fresh and nicely sized, as well as the caprese. I ate there for Thanksgiving dinner. The food is so so there, not very good. It's over price. Very small portion of food. Incorrect menu descriptions, I ordered stuffed fillet of sole, it's said crabmeat, shrimp & scallops, but I don't think they included any of those ingredients at all. Also, I made an reservation through open table, it is said standard seat on 2nd floor, but I ended up sitting on the 1st floor near entrance in the aisles, every time when the front door was open, I felt so cold by setting there. Very crowded dining environment, very uncomfortable. When they were serving dishes for the table behind me, I noticed that turkey dishes were just above my head. Bad service, waiters never refill your water when it was empty, unless you asked for it. They rushed people, so that they could sell more Thanksgiving dinners. Hate the experience dining there. With a COVID outbreak in the family scuttling our Thanksgiving plans, Hubby and I decided to go out. We looked for places serving traditional thanksgiving Meals and came across this place. I made a reservation for 7pm in a private Igloo, but when we arrived they offered a table inside, so we opted to dine in. So glad we did as the ambiance was warm and holiday-ish. One look at the price fix menu and we were salivating!! Such great choices! For starters we had a salad and pumpkin ravioli. Generous portions- we happily shared. And despite the variety of choices for main courses, and my hang up about not ordering the same meal so I can taste different dishes- we both went with the Pilgrims Thanksgiving meal. Turkey with all the fixings and then some!! This meal did not disappoint and was the tastiest meal ever!! I held back from finishing everything on my plate so that I'd have room for dessert! So unlike me!! But there was so much- I just couldn't! Neither of us could! Then came the molten chocolate cake and pecan pie for dessert. So delicious. We picked this place quite randomly and had no clue what the menu would offer and not were we glad we did. We called late afternoon on a Saturday (during Covid) for a party of 7 hoping to celebrate a milestone birthday in the family. They were very accommodating. Tables were spread apart. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere - casual but classy with a nice view of the bay. The service was great and staff was very friendly. The food was the best part. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The menu is simple and does not have a ton of choices but everyone looked great and it was hard to choose. I had the seared tuna which came with a mango salsa and fresh veggies. It was cooked perfectly. The kids had Chicken Francaise and raved about it (both are very picky kids so that is a big compliment). I also sampled the flounder francaise (also cooked perfectly) and the pasta Bolognese. Came on a Monday for 50% off dinner. The restaurant is nice on the inside and I dined upstairs for the evening. The waterfront view isn't great, you're mainly looking at docked boats across the street, but not bad. I came with my parents and since it was 50% off we decided to take advantage of the deal. Started with the thai calamari, shrimp cocktail and new england clam chowder. Calamari was good and had a nice sweet kick, however I'm a big fan of the tentacles and this was rings only and the portion was small. New England clam chowder was the perfect consistency and was seasoned nicely, could have had more clams. Jumbo shrimp cocktail came with 3 shrimp. They were fresh and delicious with a squeeze of lemon. For my main I went with the linguine in clams with white sauce. One of my favorite dishes. The portion was big and plated nicely. At first I thought there was black pepper sprinkled on top, but after eating it was clear the clams were not cleaned/soaked properly. They were beyond gritty and full of sand/dirt. It was obvious they were not soaked in fresh water or not long enough at least. It was a shame because the sauce and pasta were delicious! Our waiter never came to check on us to see how our dinner was and he was too far away to politely call over. The waiters were all standing in the back and I was against the window in the front. I really don't like to be that person to wave someone down. I just ate the pasta and left the clams to tell him when he cleared our plates. My mom thought her lamb chops were ok. They were cooked to a perfect medium rare, but she didn't like the spice/marinade that was on them (cumin? etc.) So that's preference on taste. My dad really enjoyed his shrimp with ravioli. When everyone was done the waiter finally came over to take our plates and I told him about the clams and pointed them out to him. He said I should've let him know sooner. (why didn't you ever check on us then) He asked if I would like new clams and I said no, but please wrap up the pasta to go. He ended up giving me a whole new set of clams with my leftovers (big plus!) They were slightly better, but still sandy. Tiramisu was lack luster and slightly dry, but enjoyed the Italian cheesecake. If you like a great view of the Harbor and fresh seafood and great service this is super place to come - Not as casual as most Long Island places - white table cloths, sharp waiters, but not stuffy at all. My friend Mike ordered their 2lb lobster special and said it was good.. he absolutely loved - LOVED their chocolate mousse. Said it was really great. Get the chocolate mousse. I was impressed with the fresh table breads and tappenade snack they bring while you are waiting.. Friendly, and good food. View is super if you can get to the window. For people familiar with the area this is the old Harbor 105 which has been sold a few years ago... it was orignally replaced with managment who changed the menu for the worst.. the one in the middle dragged it down with wraps ala cart it was cr**. Then the new Harbor Mist people came in and brought this great location back up to what people have always went there for. Great seafood, appetizers, drinks, filets and extras brought with dinner.. like salad, dessert, table snacks etc.. Delicious and lovely. Nice bar downstairs. Had drinks and snacks before dinner. Very good dirty martinis. Very poor cheese plate. My husband noted that if it were served in NYC someone would be fired. No bread. Just pieces of cheese and salami from packages. No fruit. No balsamic glaze. No fig jam. Yuck! Dinner upstairs was very good however. Service is nice. No rushing. Took cocktail order first. Then brought menus. Gave us time to talk and peruse. Three of us had the stuffed bronzino. Very good. Not one bone found!! Stuffed with crab and scallops. The pork chop was flavorful and not over cooked. You do get a glimpse of water from the restaurant but not so much that you'd remember the view. It was worth it and we'd return if In the area. Seems like mostly locals. And that's always a good sign. read more
