They put discount price stickers all over the shelf for Warrior drill sets, $11.99 instead of the usual $19.99, then charged me the full price at the register. Cashier told me to go check the shelf again, I did, then a manager said the discount "doesn't start until tomorrow". I had to get back in line to get my money back. IMHO this is misleading at best. We needed a compressor in order to blow-out our irrigation system. We found a nice small compressor and tried it out. The one we picked was under-sized for the size of our irrigation system so we returned the machine for a larger model. The 10-gallon compressor worked perfectly! The only surprise was being told there would be a 'restocking charge' for returning the first purchase. No one mentioned this charge during the first purchase. Fortunately, the manager waived the restocking fee for an exchange. read more

Signed up for card for the 10% off first purchase as advertised on site. Went in with coupon printed out to make my purchase and when I went to check out, cash register only offered 5% in HF bucks. Employee called corporate on the phone and they wouldn't honor the coupon I had and that I had to talk to Synchrony, the CC issuer. I asked to speak to a manager, and the guy said, "Sure, if you come back in an hour when he gets here." I came back an hour later, told the manager the situation, showed him the printout from the HF website showing 10% off first purchase...he said, "I'm aware of the situation and I'm going to tell you the same thing. Contact Synchrony, bc it's their deal." I said, "This is on your website where it clearly says 10% off first purchase. Are you not going to honor that." He said, "No." What a BS bait and switch. I will never go back to this store again, as I've had multiple other bad encounters there. You have been warned. read more

Wow! That's all I can say about the level of help I received at this store. Two different employees spent time trying to come up with a solution for my problem. Best customer service I've found. Unfortunately after all that they had to admit they really couldn't offer me a suitable solution for my issue but it certainly wasn't from lack of trying. Maybe we are just accustomed to the customer service in Albuquerque, but this place leaves a lot to be desired. We called first to make sure what we needed was available in the store. That little errand took two phone calls. The person who answered the phone had no idea what we were asking about and did not seem to enthused to find out what we needed either. She just "put us on hold" which really means she hung up! Called back and got another girl This one was a little better. Second person also did not know what a transmission jack was, but at least she was willing to check. This time she came back to the phone to confirm the jack was there. The store is easy enough to find, but the parking lot that is shared with other businesses is a little scary. Cars have made parking lanes driving lanes. So we parked where it was safer to park and walked to the store. read more

Came into town 70 miles to find half the items I came for were not stocked on the shelves. Two of the three employees were standing in the parking lot, the third manning the register was rude to me when I asked about availability, told me "man can't you see I'm busy?" I don't expect quality from harbor freight I buy the cheap stuff i need there, but when they don't have basic items like welding gloves on the shelves why even go? If I go in person it will be to the Albuquerque store, or Tucson or Denver all of which are run professionally. I've been to several others regionally and this one gets a fail rating from me. They do $6 fed ex shipping on entire online orders, I will like do that in the future. This is my first rating on Yelp, and I'm not much of a whiner, but this is beyond disappointing and i should not have wasted the gas or time to get there. read more

You get what you pay for. We bought a pressure washer here in the summer a few months after they had just opened. The thing never worked. The workers could not locate the receipt at the time and the store refused to replace, or even give store credit. Most of their stuff is made in China and it shows in the quality. I will never return to this store. I'm going to stick with American made tools in the future. read more

Harbor Freight has a few good inexpensive things but the check out experience is a deal breaker. One can tell the employee's are poorly trained, poorly managed and pretty much don't want to be there. Most of the items are poor quality. Unless you have a lot of time to kill, you're better off shopping somewhere else. The time spent dealing with the check out experience negates any benefit of saving a couple bucks. read more

You don't come here expecting fine, beautifully crafted stuff. You just gotta lower your expectations a little- that's what H.F is all about. It's meant to be bottom-of-the-line, cheapest stuff. Use it carefully a few times and you either get the job done and don't look back, or you buy a better grade of tool if it's something you'll do a lot of and love. Like the power tools- they run a year or so and in the trash. It may seem unfortunate but it's the same every H.F. I've been in all across the U.S. This one inaverage, sure the staff are a little slow to respond but you gotta think: they pass the savings on employee salaries on to you in the form of low prices... I waited, eventually got the help I needed, and the spent 15 minutes coaxing 3 different people at the cash register into honoring the deal in their flyer that I'd received the day before. What did I wait for so long? You CANNOT beat a 3-gallon pancake air compressor for $35 bucks- it's decent, works OK, and my wife will use it once a year, I take care of it, and it will do the job. I generally am treated well by friendly staff. They are often under stocked. As an example I checked on an item I needed and the cashier checked their computer inventory which said they had 14 in the store. However the shelf was empty and they couldn't find any. Typical under stocked problem. Today I learned why. I got a roll of painter's paper off the shelf. There was a price listed on the shelf with an inventory Sku number. I went to the cashier who happened to be the manager. He tried to ring up the purchase but it wasn't listed on his computer. He asked a floor person to get the number from the shelf. The floor person brought up an identical item. Of course it would not scan because it wasn't in the computer nor did it have a sku , I said the sku is on the shelf with a price attached. I saw it. The manager said he can't sell it that way. I asked why he, as the manager, could not get the sku and the price and ring up the purchase. He asked what experience I had in retail and where do I get off telling him how to do his job! What an arrogant response to a customer making a purchase. My dollars will not be spent at this store again. There are other Customer friendly managers in Santa Fe offering better quality tools And they will know how to sell and stock their products And that is no bull ! read more

I visited the Santa Fe, NM Harbor Freight store store today to buy a three day only sale item, a $199 Drain Opener. The check out person said they were out of stock, so I asked for a rain check. She would give me a rain check for the motorized drain opener at the full retail price only. Why would I take a full price rain check for an item they were out of stock on the first day of the sale. This is typical of Harbor Freight and their gimmicks. On top of this she acted like it was my fault and I was an idiot for not understanding that they were out of stock on the first day of their BIG sale. The cashier, Venus, didn't give me a receipt, which I needed for reimbursement at work. I went back in to ask for one a few minutes later, and it was absolutely unthinkable to her and the manager that I didn't get a receipt, and they certainly couldn't give me a new one.
