Bought a $399 pressure washer here and the pressure hose blew after 30mins of use. The store manager was a kid that had no idea what to do with it. Long story short I ended up calling the customer service center so they could explain how an exchange works. Why does this constantly happen to me, i.e., countless times where the tools in my possession suddenly grow "legs" disappearing from my tool crib, eh? WHY I OUGHTTA SUCKER PUNCH THOSE INDIVIDUALS TO THE MOON! Humph~How dare anyone steal my tools, AGAIN! Anyway, I bought some other miscellaneous tool supplies this shopping trip which might be considered highly valuable: While camping throughout the coming years, i.e., I bought fluorescent zip ties advantageously attach to tent tie-downs and tent stakes as a safety measure so, nobody trips/stubs their toes on tent stakes or tie-downs, I bought a dimmable and a wireless wall switch light for my front entrance door, and a plethora of tools for my tool crib. In addition, I needed a small pick ax for tilling the soil in my backyard: The soil is so hard and the hill is too steep standing up; I'll be kneeling using the pick ax digging holes planting my organic vegetables. Moreover, I bought another heavy-duty construction hammer, a petite hammer for pulling up tent stakes, a folding saw pruner when my organic fruit trees needs a trim, and a set of elongated pliers which I thought costing $5.99 but, actually the pliers costs $7.99~GRRRRRR . . . You must purchase a membership in order, receiving tools for $5.99-I felt absolutely misled! This place have cheap prices for tools. Perfect if you want to do a bit of diy. It is a bit out of my way, so I only go when I see a deal on their website or ads. Occasionally when I'm looking for something, their website shows up on my search. I haven't really bought any big purchases. I did buy a pole saw that still works to this day. One time I bought the wrong tarp that wasn't on sale and they helped me exchange it for another one. They do have good prices on household batteries. Checkout lines are usually hit or miss...can be slow at times but gets busy very quick. I will definitely be back when I need something. read more

Now you have to really watch what you buy because the sell accessories for their tools but the don't fit, they look like they do but they don't. I made this mistake and it ruined the accessory, my power tool and bit in less than 30 seconds. I always have a decent experience here. These are generally cheap tools for single-use or limited-use. The wrenches have improved over the years though, they are not Mac or Snap-On, but perfectly fine for DIY projects and they do actually have a lifetime replacement warranty (just bring in the broken one). The check-out lines are always kind of long on the weekends, but it is what it is. Coupons are always good, and some of the cheap-looking China crap can actually be quite useful. I always looked at the stupid-looking tennis-racket / electric-fly swatter thing as a joke. They actually gave me one free with purchase and it's turned out to be quite handy (and works) in the RV when camping. Stay away from the power tools, you get less than what you pay for there. If you expect to get 4-5 years out of a Makita or Bosch cordless drill, and it's $200, versus thinking you may get a year out of the HF $30 cheapo... no... you will probably get a couple of months out of it before the battery or the charger craps out, and the new battery or charger is basically the same price as another $30 cordless drill - trust me, not worth the mental agony. Hand tools - sure, I've had no issues with them, I even prefer my HF deep-sockets that are "color coded" to my much more expensive name-brand ones. read more

You see, there is no sign anywhere to inform customers to line up for next available clerk. This result in inadvertently and annoying line cutting. One day, this store has many lines corresponding to each clerk, and other day it's single line formed for next available clerk. This creates check out line confusion and forced the first in line customer to keep watch other line-cutters pop out between hidden isles. Why do you put customers in this situation? Just put the damn sign that read "Line Forms Here" that resolved all aggravations. read more

Since we moving to the area we've been receiving a lot of advertisements from this hardware store. They always have some amazing deals, either additional discounts or free tools. From my past trip, we got a free measuring tape and 20% off entire purchase! You won't find any of the brand name tools here so for you name junkies, this wouldn't be the store for you. This should be everyone's first stop if you want to purchase inexpensive tools and random items for your home projects. They carry 'generic' brands, meaning you won't find Craftsman or DeWalt here. Harbor Freight often has blowout sales and additional coupons to bring down their already low prices. We often walk out with items that we had no intention on purchasing because the price was just too good to pass up. I really like this store. It's clean, organized, the employees are always nice and ready to help, and the prices are great. I don't use the tools everyday, but between my car and motorcycle I would say they're used at least once or twice a week. I've never had a tool break. Everyone complains about the quality, but for the price and unless you are a full time mechanic it's more than fine. The only faulty tool I ever got was a $10 dremel. Convenient, Affordable are the top two words I would use to describe this store. I purchased my first house in the last two years and since then I have been a customer of Harbor Freight. I know quality is not the top reason priority here but the warranty for the cost is worth it. I had a hammer that after a year (and a complete downstairs demo which included two bathrooms, a kitchen and a lot of tile!), the head broke off. When I go to Harbor Freight, I usually know exactly what I want and I'm armed with a coupon. The prices are crazy good (especially during their frequent parking lot sales) and so far, with a lot of home improvement projects under my belt, the tools and lighting products have performed as I had hoped and survived intact. Without Harbor Freight, I'd be hesitant to buy many of the tools I now own because they are so darned expensive (even on-line). I've made repairs that I would have otherwise contracted out. I've never bought an extended warranty because their return policy is pretty lenient and I usually buy a tool for a project that I'm ready to dive into.
