We planned a trip to this store after our 2 year old's nap. Yelp indicates the store is open until 6 pm on Saturdays. This information is not correct. We arrived at 4:57 and the Asst. Manager, Ulysses, was just beginning to close up, as they actually close at 5 pm. We showed him that the Yelp App advises Yelpers that they're open until 6... he invited us right in and began helping us find the paint colors we needed. He was quite helpful and eager to provide excellent customer service; even after closing time! Ulysses said he would figure out who to contact to try to get the App updated. One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had!!! Staff ignored me for a long time and then once the guy at the counter finally noticed me and looked up my order, I was told that the order that was called in hours before wasn't ready. I told them to cancel the order as I don't plan to do business with them again. It's amazing that a big box store has better service. Since the email address you gave me doesn't work, I'll paste my attempted email here for you and everyone else to read. I went to the store on Melody lane and the person who helped me was very helpful. He said they didn't have the paint I needed but he checked the Harding location and said that they had the paint and he would call the order into them so it would be ready when I went to pick it up. I waited several hours to give them time to mix the paint and when I walked in there was a lady helping a customer, at least two other women in the back area chatting and man standing at a computer. I walked up to the man at the computer and was ignored. I waited several minutes and he finally acknowledged me in a very uncaring way and made no attempt to explain why he ignored me for so long. He looked up the order and said that it wasn't ready. I was so frustrated at being ignored for so long and that the order wasn't ready that I told him to cancel the order. I have bought quite a bit of paint from Home Depot and get far better service there. I went to Sherwin Williams because our contractor used your product on our vacation home so I wanted to get an exact match. I quit using Sherwin Williams in the past due to poor customer service, but I honestly expected that given all the negative feedback you get that you would have resolved this issue. It's hard to imagine how you can be successful with such poor service. Someone in the corporate suite needs to focus on providing better customer service or you will chase away your retail customers that are still willing to do business with you. Scott read more

Normally we purchase our paint from this location, but after a recent visit we will no longer be going here. We brought the cabinet door of our bathroom vanity to be paint match so we could paint a mirror (which I told them we were painting a mirror while there, so they were aware I was not painting this door.) They asked if we could leave the door and they would call when it was ready, got our name and number that's it. We get the call it's ready and my husband went in to pick it up and comes out looking horrified. Granted he should have said something more while in there but they messily slopped paint swatches all over the top on the door. They never once told us this would happen which I would have said no to regardless. I called back to ask them about this and how unhappy I was and all they could say was this is "standard practice" over and over. And then went on to tell me I would need to use paint thinner to remove the paint or should just repaint the door with the paint I picked up! How is this even remotely professional, let alone ok? I am completely appalled that they had no issue doing this. I will be getting an invoice from our contractor to see how much it will be to fix and send to them, who also can not believe they did this and said he will be referring his clients elsewhere. My experience today far exceeded my expectations! I was fortunate to be helped by Lindi. She mixed my color quickly and even helped me to the car with my paint. My contractor is coming tomorrow and said he preferred not to use the paint that I had purchased from a big box store. All in all my experience today will have me coming back again. I have been in here three times now and I am IMPRESSED, I really do think the company must put their staff through some serious training to ensure that everyone really KNOWS their stuff. I am yet to meet a newbie that just feeds me some weird shinanegans to try and get me to go away. Why do they not get 5 stars from me? We waited just about forever and a day to check out. They were having a special at the time so there were quite a few people in there. About 4 or 5 staff were on deck and we made the mistake of walking away from our associate for a quick second because then he struck up conversation with another patron and started to help them. BAD MISTAKE on our part, we waited a good (additional) 25-35 minutes for them to wrap it up, when we were IN THE PROCESS of checking out! Yikes. read more

I worked with James on multiple occasions while trying to determine paint color and amount of paint to buy for the interior of my home. Not only is James knowledgeable, but he really took his time to answer my questions. This Sherwin-Williams store is not the closest one to my house but I am willing to make multiple trips out there because I enjoy working with him. For example, Sherwin-Williams had sent me multiple coupons advertising sales of the paint, but the coupons would not work even though the fine print didn't say anything about exceptions that would have applied to this situation. James didn't seem frustrated by the situation (despite it taking up a lot of his time) and did everything he could to try to get those coupons to go through. I think it is his customer service and genuineness to help the customer that I appreciate most about working with James. read more

This place has the worst customer service, I called in to see if they had some mis tints paint and the fellow I talked with too me yes they do and they charge $3 a gallon so I told him I usually buy it for $2 and he says no problem we'll sell it for $2. So I drove there and sure they had the paint but when it came to check out the guys says it $4 pre gallon. I was like what the heck?! You told me 2. So he says let me get the manager brings another guy out (who wasn't the manager) and says sorry I can't help you. Let ME get the manager! ( I though he was the manager) so I drove there like a dumb ass and than had to monkey around with them to figure out who's the manager. And they still wouldn't let me have it for the price we agreed on prior to coming there. Bottom line is there scamming ppl into coming there thinking once your there you'll buy any way. I went to pick up 2 gallons of paint that my contractor called in beforehand. When I arrived at the store 30 minutes later I was told that they only had one gallon and that they were going to pick up the second gallon in Rocklin. They said I could come back to pick up the second gallon in 1 1/2 hours. I asked why they had not called me to let us know that they did not have the paint and they told me is was my contractors fault for not giving them enough time. A female employee then proceeded to tell me in a condescending way, that if I wanted the paint that fast why didn't I just go and pick it up myself. I told her that I didn't appreciate the way she was talking to me, in which she replied "I was just trying to come up with a solution". It's not what she said that bothered me, but how she said it. I then asked for the manager who proceeded to walk over and tell me that it was my problem. I should have given them more notice. I was looking for "I am sorry this happened" but was met with an attitude that they could care less if I ever came back. I have been a customer of the Chico, CA store for years and have NEVER been treated poorly. I will never go back to this location again. read more

My husband and I went out of our way to go to this store because we thought they would be the experts in paints. I have to say that had the worst customer service. Trying to get help was like pulling teeth. I had paint that was purchased from them but it was not matching on the wall. We tried to get some advice on how to get a better color match and why the paint wasn't matching. The sales people were unknowledgeable and rude. We went to Home Depot and the paint department there could of not been more helpful. They told us some tricks to match the paint and even made us some new sample paints. The service was excellent and their ability to match paint was outstanding! We didn't know the exact name of the paint and we were only able to provide a tiny sample of the wall. They kept the sample over night. When I picked up the sample, I hoped for the best. Once applied to the wall I was relieved to see that it was a PERFECT match. Very impressed with this store! This was our first experience with SW, having previously bought big box store paint and what a difference in quality and service. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy about buying top end products, service was quick and color matching was perfect every time even when we changed the sheen. Manager Kevin and employee Cordero are standouts in customer service. No matter how many times we came in for just another sample quart or brush, we always received the same high level of service. I took in the paint name and code number given to me by the contractor who built my house. The label on the can left with the house said "Sherwin Williams." I waited at least ten minutes to be waited on, until a young man apparently returned from a break. His company shirt looked like he slept in it. He informed me that the color name and number was not a Sherwin Williams paint. I told him that's what it said on the can. He still insisted it was not their paint. He suggested I bring in a piece of the board being replaced to have it matched. I told him I could do that anywhere - and left. They lost a sale, and future sales. read more

We went to Sherwin Williams after my epic failures at attempting to choose the right exterior colors for our house. The back of my house looks like a patchwork quilt after trying so many samples and I've ended up being disappointed every time. Well I walked in and just said, "do you have a colorist?" I really didn't expect an answer because I assumed that you had to pay for a colorist to help you choose colors. And Kayla said, "That's what I am here for." I was so surprised, I whipped out my iPhone and showed her my house, explained what I wanted and my desperation led me to say out loud, "please help me..." She walked right over, grabbed a color brochure and said, "how about these two, I think this is what you're looking for." She was spot on! She offered us alternatives, showed us how to mix and match, etc. I went home with 7 samples and after so many failures, we actually had a hard time choosing between her two suggestions since they were both so good.
