But walk through that door and its like the Tardis from Dr. Who. The store really opens up into multiple rooms each with their own treasures to be found. Then out back there is a garde. And green house. They have chili pepper plants the likes of which I don't think I will ever see again! I swear the jalapeno plant was nearly as tall as me. And that is not an exaggeration. It was massive. Like a spicy tree. It was seriously impressive. Anyhow, there was also a "volunteer" plant just outside the back door that had tiny red peppers on it. Nobody seemed to know the variety but said they were too too hot. Maybe Tobasco peppers they thought. I started talking to them about my own home garden and how I struggle with tomato and pepper blossoms not sticking around long enough to produce fruit. They told me about something called "Blossom Set." I would have bought some there but it was greater than 3 ounces and I had to fly home. What I did buy was a bottle of scuppernong juice. Funny name for a native grape with a delicious flavor. A little more tart than standard grapes. I had been wanting to try scuppernongs and that did the trick. My only regret here is that I don't live anywhere near Renfrow's and could not biy as much I really wanted to. If I was a local, this would likely me a regular stop on my weekend errands.

A few weeks back, I visited Potts Hardware for the first time to find a "ring spreader." I didn't know what it was either but I purchased one at one of the big box stores, came home to spread the rings on my truck and the tool broke. Literally broke in two. Went online to see if I could get one on the website that is named after the Brazilian rain forest and they only had the bad kind as well. I decided to try Potts to see if they had what I needed. It's a REAL hardware store so tools, fertilizer, seed, nuts, bolts, and more. They had exactly what I needed at a great price! Earlier this week, I stopped back in to Potts to get a few keys made. Most places are relying on machines to cut keys and the machines don't always get it right. The guys at Potts custom cut two keys that worked perfectly! They've earned my business - period. So the next time you're standing in the big box wondering if someone can help your version of a "ring spreader", check out Potts.

I really wanted it to work since they are a "Weber dealer", but I guess they don't care about their customers and sales (missed out on $1K+)... at least that's how I felt. Finally not knowing what else to do I went into my local store and began talking to these remarkable employees. Ms. Dee immediately got on the phone with the company and made it happen, was able to get me scheduled for early the next week, after weeks of them ignoring me. The style of the door and the transom didn't match, I called and was told "that's what you ordered" . Really I asked for mismatched styles? For the window I had ordered the lightest clearest low-e glass available, I got the dark type of glass that's recommended for Fla, Nm, Az etc. " That's what you ordered" was the response again. They don't even bother to ask what was shipped or what you ordered, they don't want to know because CYA is the order of the day. Then when you go over your buyer's order you realize that regardless of the conversation you had with their salesperson the printed order is so vague that they could ship you anything at all and claim that's what you ordered. My contractor bought my siding there, it's an off-brand and the quality doesn't impress. Really shoddy practices I ordered the rest of the windows ( Andersen) from The Plywood Mart although they won't match these and they were more expensive, that shows how I feel about sponsoring this store again

I enjoy coming to Lowes, we have frequented this location in the past; Parking lot is safe and easy to get in and out of. However - once again, be careful and be mindful of the new return policies. They have a tremendous selection of items, just like Home Depot - They just seem a bit "Softer" than Home Depot - not sure how else to describe/put it. Value - What can I say, everything is expensive in this "Pappa B" world; - Hopefully things will change for the better come January. Nevertheless, kid working the Customer Service desk was polite and kind - so I have to say the Service is OK.
