Best hardware operation in the Carolinas. They have everything. Customers are homeowners like us along with contractors and trades people. Super helpful and knowledgeable staff to guide you to what you are looking for and they are able to advise you on uses and options. I like that you can buy items by the foot. I was looking to buy tubing for our irrigation system and could only find it in 10 & 20 foot coils at Lowe's. All I needed was two feet. Bingo: I got exactly what I needed. It's big, it's old-timey, it's full of all the stuff a hardware store should have and none of what it shouldn't. I am pretty sure Little has everything you need to start or finish any project at your home or business. yea turnbuckles! Was down town with a little time on my hands so I came in here for a little look-see. Wandered around for a bit headed back to plumbing and electrical, must have looked like I knew where I was going since nobody asked if I needed any assistance ;-) Got back up front and was looking around gas cans, mailboxes, leaf blowers, janitorial supplies, hand tools and during my voyages got asked if I needed help finding anything a couple of times, thanked them for the interest but I was looking 'at' stuff, not 'for' stuff. It's a good store especially for in town where space is at a premium. Tools and materials are laid out very well and thoughtfully organized but I've got about a hundred options between here and the house so unless I'm near here for something else I'll probably stick closer to home read more

Being in the Construction Industry I am always in & out of hardware stores. What I love about Little is, it's right next to uptown if I forget something I can just run right over. The store is also fairly large considering it is not a chain hard ware store. Steven helped me with some drywall anchors today. He is awesome! They worked well! There is also a food stand out front that sells hotdogs, and sausages (chips and soda add ons), and there is always a short line of 2-5 people!!! And his food grade is an A! Very convenient for the average construction worker! read more

This is one of the most excellent hardware stores I have been to, they have a huge selection, and a great staff... until you meet Mark, this employee is the only individual at that store that stands around with hands in his pockets and cannot answer a single question about absolutely anything. I was sold the wrong item that he swore 100% was correct but couldn't provide me any knowledge about it. All the other guys were hustling and taking time to walk the isles with customers which is beyond exceptional customer service. I have been there several times and been helped by Joe and Phil, these guys both are extremely helpful. Phil especially will go above and beyond not only to make sure that situations like his coworker screwing up is made fair even though the sale wasn't made by him. He took the time while they were busy to walk with me and find what I needed and was very knowledgeable about multiple topics and products. He will be the reason I return to this store as a repeat loyal customer! Keep up the good work guys! read more

Little Hardware has everything the big box store's don't. They've literally been in business for 100 years at this location. So, if you need novelty plumbing valve replacements for your house which was built in the 1950's, they will have it! Any unique odds and ends you might need can be found at Little's. Now, on the other end of the spectrum....if you're a fussy metro-sexual who expects there to be customer service employees asking you "do you need help?" on every aisle, this is not your store. Little Hardware seems to be the kind of place where you could find just about anything hardware-related, in a down-to-earth "ma-and-pa" environment that soars leaps and bounds above its big-box competitors (Lowe's and Home Depot). Unfortunately, because a hardware store is the kind of place where good customer service is necessary in order for an infrequent customer to know where his or her desired merchandise is located, Little Hardware falls flat. My recent trip to Little's proved that it is possible for a team of employees to collectively flat-out ignore a customer. Three salesmen had the opportunity to say so little as, "I'll be right with you" as they were all helping other customers. After about 15 minutes of roaming the aisles for what I needed, I approached one of them, who after finishing a transaction, saw me, said nothing, and turned around and walked away. The second salesman ignored me completely as he was cutting keys for a customer. The third walked towards me, passed me as I asked him where the certain product was, and he pointed in the general direction; "They're on that wall." As he continued to walk away, I asked him specifically what I was looking for, and he turned halfway around and said, "no." That was my cue to leave. Amazon, here I come. Sorry, Little. I have to assume your business hasn't been operating this way for 93 years, but you can forget about going forward unless you teach your employees to be more courteous. read more

I didnt realize how difficult it was to get a key made until this week. I had a Master padlock key that I needed copied. I ventured to Lowes and Home Depot and was not successful. Technology has taken over the key making business. I used Yelp and found "Little Hardware". They were able make my key the old fashion way ( the only way to copy smaller keys). The staff was extremely helpful. While you're there grab a hot dog or sausage dog, you wont regret it. read more
