I started having a problem with the throttle control on the lawn vacuum engine. After a few phone calls to Home Depot and Agri-Fab I was referred to Faulk Brothers on Orr Rd, an AUTHORIZED Briggs and Stratton repair shop. A gentleman by the name of GERALD answered the phone. I explained to him that I recently purchased the machine and Agri-Fab referred me to Faulk Brothers for the repair. Before I could even get the words out of my mouth he said they ONLY REPAIR COMMERCIAL EQUIPMENT and referred me to another company, Lay of The Land. I called them. They wanted me to bring it in. I'm a partially disabled veteran and the machine weighs over 350 lbs. I called Home Depot back and explained my problem. I WAS NOT A HAPPY CAMPER! I told them I'd find a way to bring it back. Long story short, I wasn't A BIG LANDSCAPE COMPANY SO GERALD DIDN'T WANT TO BRING HIS LAZY BUTT OUT TO LOOK AT IT. I will say the next day he called AFTER Agri-Fab called him. He said he'd send someone out. I told him he must have lied to me the day before because I'm not a COMMERCIAL customer! Told him I'd figure something out and not to worry about it. Beware when you deal with Faulk Brothers. Especially, if you're THE LITTLE GUY!

Renfrow's was recommended to me by the folks down the street at the Matthews Heritage Museum. It…read moredid not disappoint. The store is deceptively big. The front door is narrow and old. But walk through that door and its like the Tardis from Dr. Who. The store really opens up into multiple rooms each with their own treasures to be found. Then out back there is a garde. And green house. They have chili pepper plants the likes of which I don't think I will ever see again! I swear the jalapeno plant was nearly as tall as me. And that is not an exaggeration. It was massive. Like a spicy tree. It was seriously impressive. Anyhow, there was also a "volunteer" plant just outside the back door that had tiny red peppers on it. Nobody seemed to know the variety but said they were too too hot. Maybe Tobasco peppers they thought. I started talking to them about my own home garden and how I struggle with tomato and pepper blossoms not sticking around long enough to produce fruit. They told me about something called "Blossom Set." I would have bought some there but it was greater than 3 ounces and I had to fly home. What I did buy was a bottle of scuppernong juice. Funny name for a native grape with a delicious flavor. A little more tart than standard grapes. I had been wanting to try scuppernongs and that did the trick. My only regret here is that I don't live anywhere near Renfrow's and could not biy as much I really wanted to. If I was a local, this would likely me a regular stop on my weekend errands.

Tried to tell me contaminated gas was taken out of my weed eater that i bought used from him and it was the gas he had put in it!! Outstanding service experience!…read more I was unable to remove the blade from my lawn mower for sharpening and called then in advance to see if they could take care of it. First of all, they were actually opened on a Sat afternoon and said they would be open until 4:00. I loaded my Honda mower into my van and when I arrived, Karl offered to take the blade off immediately and sharpen it - no need to drop it off and come back a week later. He offered to replace the bolts (since they were old and worn) and checked my oil and topped it off. I was back on the road in 15 mins and the cost was lower than I expected to pay for that kind of service! It is so rare to get that kind of rapid, friendly reliable service anymore. Karl and Matthews Power Equipment has a customer for life!

You can probably find some nicer items if you shopped around the internet some but since they are in town and their prices are very reasonable it would probably be more convienant to shop here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Their parking lot can be a little tricky to get into if you are heading there from out of town so just keep a eye out.

The same fella greeted me and called me "boss man" about 30 times as we talked about various ant and beetle killers. Their selection is limited, but seemed to focus more on plumbing and gardening supplies than traditional hardware. Maybe that is the niche they have carved out to survive in. Now, Luke did leave something out. I suspect that he wanted to avoid being indelicate, but I think it bears mentioning. This friendly, helpful clerk patrolling the floors and calling everyone "boss man" looks indigent. He is scrawny, dirty, and missing all of his front teeth. Friendly as hell, but quite a sight. I'm only saying it so you aren't alarmed when he approaches you.

John was our instructor and he was excellent. He explained everything clearly, made sure everyone felt comfortable using the equipment, and kept the class engaging without ever feeling rushed. We also met a few other team members while we were there and everyone was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell they really care about what they do. We left with pens we made ourselves and are already talking about coming back for another class. Highly recommend!
